To wonder how Ive gone this long without having an electric blanket.

Got it for xmas and its the best thing ever, although I never want to leave my bed again. Grin
Minus 10 outside currently but Im so cosy.

I suffer from lots of aches and pains and this is easing them so much.

Has anyone discovered anything this year that they could now no longer be without?

“Why don't you try the Scandinavian thing of having two separate single duvets on a double bed? You can have the lightest tog weight & your DH could have a winter weight one.”

This, alas, doesn’t work, as two single duvets take up more space than a double, so you end up with “extra duvet” and nowhere to put it. Two singles on a king might work, though.

The Ordinary skincare, and Beauty Pie make up.

Also a convert to Amazon Prime this year.

And Passionfruit. Now obsessed with the gorgeous zingy exotic taste and fling it in almost any pudding with gay abandon.

Finally - Creed perfumes. Have been looking for my 'forever' perfume for ages and finally found it Smile

The Dinner Ladies - a Sydney based "homemade" food delivery service. Home from work, can't be arsed to cook, pull something delicious and healthy from the freezer (or fridge) to feed the family.
Pilates Reformer classes - I'm addicted

My beloved Thermomix. And Mangos and avocados I can’t eat enough of them.

popcorntime1 · 31/12/2017 06:10

Great thread.

For those that have said parking camera, is it built on or have you bought it separately?

Jengnr · 31/12/2017 06:17

Alexa/Hue/Hive/IFTTT combo
Fitbit
Smart TV
Hive plugs - no more stressing I’ve left my straightener on, I can simply turn the plug off with my phone.
Coffee machine.

Jengnr · 31/12/2017 06:17

Btw my husband and I have a DOUBLE duvet each. :)

Jengnr · 31/12/2017 06:19

Oh and Mitchum deodorant. That’s a proper gamechanger!

FixItUpChappie · 31/12/2017 06:22

Have been struggling with a restless leg type issue in the evenings past year+. Invested in a foot and calf massager recently - looks almost like ski boots, you slip your legs in. Possibly the best thing I've ever bought. Certainly my DH is relieved I'm not asking for constant leg massage assistance....so a treat all around Grin

Alexa, we have a few in the house.

My lovely soft and warm dressing gown, I didn't like them before but I couldn't do without it now I have a newborn.

chocatoo · 31/12/2017 08:23

I have really enjoyed this thread! Mine is probably my bluetooth keyboard which I use with my phone or ipad to type up notes on the train.

mrssmith79 · 31/12/2017 08:47

My best discovery of the year was the 8 week blood sugar diet (Dr Michael Moseley). I've lost over 4 stones since August and have never felt better. Still a way to go but I'll be hopping back on the wagon for another round next week.

babymouse · 31/12/2017 09:20

I highly recommend two duvets when either party steals or requires a different tog.

We have two king sized duvets on a double! 😂

This thread is costing me a fortune.

So far I'm awaiting delivery of sleep headphones, an eggy toaster and Sonos speakers with Alexa.

BearSoFair · 31/12/2017 09:26

My Fitbit. Bought it just to see how much walking I do at work, never really expected it to motivate me to do more steps but it really has! I love the sleep tracking as well.

iknowimcoming · 31/12/2017 09:27

Don't recall who posted it but thanks for the Stocard app tip! Am going to ditch all my loyalty cards (once I've checked they work) and my old lady purse and get a nice new small purse Blush

ohfortuna · 31/12/2017 09:35

I have just bought a Fitbit for the sleep tracking I was thrilled when I woke up this morning and there was a graph of my sleep 😄😁😎

Maria1982 · 31/12/2017 09:42

ohfortuna How did you find wearing the Fitbit? I’m tempted to track my sleep but worry I wouldn’t like wearing it at night (so could be a v expensive mistake)

ohfortuna · 31/12/2017 09:48

Well Maria!
Therein lies a tale 😉
I knew that I wouldn't be able to sleep with the wristband on so I sewed a little pouch and then I sewed that into my nightie so that I can wear the thing in bed.
I will now have to make some more little pouches and sew them into all my night clothes😄

JonnaSilvie · 31/12/2017 09:49

My robotic hoover.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 31/12/2017 09:50

Aeropress. My ds bought me one for my birthday and it's amazing. I am.never making coffee any other way. Easy to use, easy to clean, what's not to love?

JennyHolzersGhost · 31/12/2017 10:18

A veg box. I eat so much more fruit and veg now ! Plus they also deliver my milk, yoghurt and eggs for the week which is so useful and much better quality than supermarket stuff. And it means I have to meal plan as well which helps save waste. Would recommend!
