To wonder how Ive gone this long without having an electric blanket.

Got it for xmas and its the best thing ever, although I never want to leave my bed again. Grin
Minus 10 outside currently but Im so cosy.

I suffer from lots of aches and pains and this is easing them so much.

Has anyone discovered anything this year that they could now no longer be without?

@Loonoonow look for the pet cooling pad! It's a few quid on Amazon UK and is exactly the same as the 'Chillow' (which you 'can' get in the UK). Just dont let it get soaking wet as the gel inside ets funky.

TrinitySquirrel · 30/12/2017 14:48

Tumblr dryer
Fitbit Ionic (waterproof!)
Google Home (way better than Alexa)
Next clearance shops 😂

@annielouise
I have ordered sage tablets from Amazon 6.99 for 100 based on your recommendation
I had been using Magnesium, but it seems to have stopped working
Fingers crossed

Non iron clothing.

Giving up foundation. I just wear primer and apply powder with a brush and my skin is so much better now. I no longer feel all clogged up and no more dry, itchy patches.

Shampoo bar. No more sls and skin feels so much better.

annielouise · 30/12/2017 18:22

I hope sage works for you TentUp as quickly as it did for me. The ones I bought are here:

www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/sage-tablets-menoforce/

The black cohosh didn't seem to work as quickly but I didn't give it enough time perhaps. I was so desperate I switched to the sage after a only day or two of black cohosh and the sage worked within a day. Fingers crossed it brings you some relief.

Foot moisturiser in a bag like sock from Poundland, they eat rid of that horrible dry white skin on my heels for months

SinisterBumFacedCat · 30/12/2017 20:59

Kent coastline. Took me 40 years to discover my favourite beaches.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 30/12/2017 21:04

Bulletfox WHAT IS THE BOOK??????????????????????????

Murinae · 30/12/2017 21:25

Ovestin cream. Has transformed my undercarriage and no more painful sex! Since talking to my menopausal friends about it have realised most of them use it. Why did no one tell me?

MrsHathaway · 30/12/2017 21:35

Aquafit - I have basically always hated both exercising generally and swimming in particular but somehow I bloody love Aquafit.

We've had Amazon Prime for longer than a year but really made use of it this year, particularly the original series, Music, Pantry and Subscriptions (cat food here too).

I've been an occasional soap user for years but jumped on the MN bandwagon and haven't used shower gel for weeks/months now. Love love love.

Er, and Mexican food. This year has been all about paprika/lime/coriander and now it's a staple.

We've basically given up red meat (gives DH gout) and don't miss it in the slightest. Turkey mince is great in e.g. chilli, cottage pie etc where most of the flavour is meant to come from the herbs, spices and vegetables anyway.

Murinae · 30/12/2017 21:38

Just ordered an electric sofa throw from amazon. Hope it’s as good as you all say!

BulletFox · 30/12/2017 21:53

Shit, sorry, I only posted once on this thread and never went back to it.

I was completely transfixed by a book based on the principle that time isn't linear but instead based on a mathematical model of a möbius strip (time goes round in loops). Also that like Satre said hell is other people.

The story is about a girl with amnesia (she's just restarting the time loop) and as I have suffered from amnesia I find it fascinating.

It's Other People by Martin Amis, sorry I had no idea people wanted to know!

It is very, very black comedy though

DotCottonDotCom · 30/12/2017 21:56

Velvet leggings

IndigoApple · 30/12/2017 22:35

A timeswitch for the Christmas tree lights (Wilko £3). So nice coming home to them being on.

Sidge · 30/12/2017 23:04

False eyelashes, done properly by a genius woman who has given me eyes again. They look really natural and are so much better than my stubby sparse little things. They cost the same as my tinting used to cost but now I have VOLUME!!
