Our whole family has been farting merrily and filling every corner of the house with acrid bottom fumes for the past 8 hours. Was it the turkey?

Yup. I stink.

KelzPaige · 25/12/2017 23:35

Did you have sprouts?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 25/12/2017 23:35

It's normally the sprouts.

BumWad · 25/12/2017 23:35

Oh good point could have been the sprouts Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 25/12/2017 23:36

I think it's the combination of stuffing and sprouts.

We haven't all had sprouts, but are all farting the sane noxious whiff. Turkey is the only thing that's been consumed by all.

Baubletrouble43 · 25/12/2017 23:43

It's turkey. Same in our house. The dog is also at it and Turkey is the only leftovers he was allowed.

juliesaway · 25/12/2017 23:43

You’ve got rude guests or ill mannered family members if they are farting in the house like that . Tell them to go to the toilet!

FreeNiki · 25/12/2017 23:43

Try quinoa. Report back .

IHaveACuntingPlan · 25/12/2017 23:44

I have had neither turkey nor sprouts and I keep dropping silent-but-deadlies. I don't know what it is because I've not had anything I don't usually have!

IHaveACuntingPlan · 25/12/2017 23:46

Actually, I revise my previous comment. I had stuffing. Loads of it. That must be causing my gas issue Blush

littlepeas · 25/12/2017 23:47

I doubt its the turkey in isolation. It's a bigger than usual meal with lots of veg and extra, fairly rich, bits and bobs.

LizzieSiddal · 25/12/2017 23:47

Well it could be the turkey, then again it could be the

Sprouts
Pigs in blankets
Carrots
Peas
Parsnips
Red cabbage
Stuffing

Christmas pudding
Cheese
Chocolates

Not sure really why I’ve got tummy issues today Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

I thought it was only me who'd noticed! Opening the windows often is helpful (obviously easier at home than when visiting someone else). I reckon it's definitely the turkey. Eating sprouts at other times doesn't have this effect. Once you notice this phenomenon it can't be ignored so fresh air is vital.

ZenNudist · 25/12/2017 23:55

Me and dh were jet propelled after lunch and we each had 6 sprouts plys turkey pibs etc etc. ds (3) went to poop 3 times! Its not right.

littlepeas · 25/12/2017 23:57

It isn't the turkey! I am a vegetarian and have still been bloated and gassy today - it is overindulging in general, not a specific food item!

LockedOutOfMN · 25/12/2017 23:57

We haven't had any cheese which is a personal smelly fart trigger. The air smells a bit turkeyish and sort of stinging. We have cracked a window and the storm raging outside is now wreaking havoc inside!

OP posts:
Sunbeam18 · 26/12/2017 00:43

You've cracked a window? That's heavy duty! GrinGrin

LockedOutOfMN · 26/12/2017 00:48

It truly reeks. We've all been sat in this room more or less since lunch finished.

OP posts:
Insomnibrat · 26/12/2017 00:54

Seriously! Who goes to the toilet every time they need to pump? Come on Pp.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 26/12/2017 01:41

I haven't had Turkey but I'm surprised I haven't set off the smoke alarm here. It's fucking rancid. I partially levitating off my seat.

juliesaway · 26/12/2017 01:51

Continuous farting is a reminder that you need to go to the toilet. I’d never stay in a room with numerous family members farting - absolutely disgusting pig like behaviour. Use the bathroom. Or don’t eat so much in the first place!

BattleCunt · 26/12/2017 02:09

Yes but the important question is, did you rate them out of ten for noise and potency? Priorities folks.

LockedOutOfMN · 26/12/2017 02:23

Cunt, they were silent but mostly very potent.
