Came across this article in the Mirror just now (Sorry, it's another Meghan one) where she says Prince Michael of Kent wore a 'racist' brooch when meeting her.

General consensus from the comments suggest she knew exactly what she was doing. I don't know anything about her to know if it's suspect but it seems an odd thing to own let alone wear in public. What's the jury?

It’s a piece of blackamoor jewellery. Some of the pieces are absolutely stunning and in no way can be compared to Gollywogs. However I do think this obnoxious woman wore it on purpose as a veiled insult.

I got a cruise/tour brochure in the post the other day in which one of the cruises featured her as a resident speaker for a few days, in connection with the publicity for her recent book on cheetahs.
So no, I don't think she has dementia.
I laughed gaily and chucked the brochure in the bin.

K2, the Duchess of Kent is the Wimbledon one. She is married to the Duke of Kent, Prince Michael's older brother. Therefore Princess Michael is married to a very minor royal making her a very minor royal by marriage. Although you wouldn't think it by all accounts.

I think Princess Michael's "issues" stem from the fact that she believes her Royal pedigree is higher than that of the British Royal family.
i.e. she has a chip[ on her shoulder about being a minor royal, as she doesn't believe that's what she is. Somewhere along the line she's descended from a French king from the 1500s and various royalty from throughout Europe.

Are they always slaves ? Some look more like emperors. Either way they are problematic for sure and she is utterly dreadful.

I’ve certainly seen figurines which are elegantly dressed and rather beautiful but clearly slaves. So assumed the same for this whole genre. But that’s on the basis Of no knowledge. I’m sure Princess Pushy meant to be an utter arse.

The Duchess of Kent is a wonderful woman. She fell out with Wimbledon officials somewhat when she wanted to take the young son of the murdered headmaster Philip Lawrence to the tournament with her and the officials refused because only royal children were allowed in the Royal Box. She boycotted it for a while.

She also gave up her title and spent years teaching at a school up north where no one knew who she was. She has suffered mental health problems, a stillbirth, an unhappy marriage and keeps herself private.

Let's no muddle her up with the ghastly one with the brooch.
