Came across this article in the Mirror just now (Sorry, it's another Meghan one) where she says Prince Michael of Kent wore a 'racist' brooch when meeting her.

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/meghan-markle-greeted-racist-jewellery-11736477

General consensus from the comments suggest she knew exactly what she was doing. I don't know anything about her to know if it's suspect but it seems an odd thing to own let alone wear in public. What's the jury?

Also, is Michael an actual name for a woman, I've never heard of it before

PMOK knew what she was doing. What an arse.

Although
I'm sure Harry warned Meghan about her.
I'm sure we've all had those conversations in the run up to meeting the man you love's family. Who to look out for, who's lovely, who will try and play a joke, who doesn't get on with who etc.

"They're mostly decent. Grandad gets pissed and talks shit but he's harmless enough. You must be aware that Princess Michael is a total twat though, we all hate her and she's a nasty cow...always tries to make it all about her somehow."

Nobody saw the brooch and were all pleasantly surprised at Michael's inoffensive behaviour and attitude.

Someone may have even suggested she'd matured a little.

Then they got the morning papers and all went "ah ha. Sorry Meghan but don't be upset, we told you she was a twat"

She’s an embarrassment but there’s usually one in every family. My mil bought my 1dc a gollywog 20 years ago and to my utter disbelief, she was insulted that I asked her to return it. Some people simply don’t get it or don’t want to get it.

I’ve met Princess Michael of Kent. I was on the gate collecting tickets as people entered for an event. She had no ticket. She said “Don’t you know who I am?” I said that I didn’t care who she was, if she didn’t have a ticket, she wasn’t coming in. Grin

Did she have you thrown in the tower schadenfreude? Grin

nigelschristmasham · 24/12/2017 10:28

Why on earth would anyone wear that? One it's obviously controversial. And two, it's bloody horrible anyway!

LemonShark · 24/12/2017 10:54

Haven't you read the thread nigelschristmasham? Some people claim to find these pieces 'beautiful' and 'stunning', even while knowing their connotations and history. Hmm

Her husband is a big mason too - parading around in his pinny

I thought it was the Duke of Kent who was a big boy in the masons? Or is Prince Michael, too, a member of the trouser leg rolled up, knotted handkerchief on head, balls in a bowl of custard brigade?

lalalalyra · 24/12/2017 12:46

Puzzled Prince Michael is also a high ranking Freemason. Their father was as well.

The Duke of Gloucester is also a mason.

She wasn’t very happy weeds! She did, it turned out, have a ticket - she sent some flunkey to get it from her car while we stood there and glared at each other.
