To think my sister is being a cheeky fucker?

We have a family whatsapp group and a few weeks ago we all put lists of present ideas for ourselves/our dcs and everyone said what they would get to avoid duplicates.

Dsis sent hers over, ‘does she think we’re all minted’ says dp whilst looking at her list. Nothing under £75 for her or her dp/DCs. We’re not well off by any means (her present is more than what I’ve spent on my own child) but she had called me and said ‘oh I couldn’t find what you wanted but saw some beautiful things you’ll love while in House of Fraser so got you and dp a £150 voucher towards them’ so based on that I felt I had to get her the pricey presents as couldn’t believe she’d spent so much! (Our presents we sent we’re all under £20)

Now 5 days before Christmas she has sent a message to the group whatsapp ‘Hi guys, just to let you all know we didn’t budget that well for Christmas and Sam asked for an Xbox last minuite so we won’t be doing presents for anyone this year. Hoped to get the kids something but don’t think we’ll have time now. See you Sunday x’

AIBU to think she’s a cheeky fucker? I know I’ll get called grabby and you don’t give to receive etc but to me it seems she’s sent us all pricey things, acting like she’s doing the same then waited until everyone will have bought things to say actually she’s not getting us anything!

I’m more pissed off that she said she’d get one of the things on DDs list and now i can’t find it to arrive before Xmas.

Disclaimer as not to dripfeed - she has form for this kind of thing.

We’re on our way now to mums for Christmas, have done a nice card for the kids with a ‘ticket’ to come out with us. Sister has also got a card (that is ticketless).

I sense an argument could erupt between her and DP if she says/does anything cheeky so praying she acts normal ... Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

Bloody hell OP, I am looking forward to this update and my DH gave just left to collect my hellish MIL

KC225 · 24/12/2017 12:22

What is a piss raisin?

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 24/12/2017 12:26

Cheekyeffingsister just a suggestion but if you are updating re her reaction can you consider starting a new thread, maybe with a link to this one? It might avoid all those people who don't have time to read the whole thread piling in to basically say cancel the cheque Wink

wibblywobblywoo · 24/12/2017 12:49

Of course I wasn't serious!

Me neither.......

Is it too late to put 'sense of humour' on Raisin's list to Father Christmas.......... Grin

Supermagicsmile · 24/12/2017 13:37

Let us know her reaction!

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 24/12/2017 14:33

Thank fuck for that wibblywobblywoo!

There have been some scarily over-enthusiastic posters on here recently e.g. a neighbour parking thread where the OP posted a couple of pics of her drive - with identifying features scribbles out so she obviously didn't want to be identified - but she didn't remove the Google coordinates at the bottom so someone tracked down a picture if her actual house on Google street view and posted it without asking her Shock

And another about a house sale where a poster found her house on right move and posted a link - simply from her description on the thread.

My jaw hit the floor at both of these as I'd think anyone would know that's crossing a line. Bonkers!

So I don't feel at all confident guessing what's humour and what's general fuckwittery these days!

Relieved to hear yoirs is humour!

Blondielongie · 24/12/2017 16:03

Ooooh!!!

Tink2007 · 24/12/2017 16:07

Hopefully she doesn’t kick off, OP and accepts that she has had her game turned against her :)

BewareOfDragons · 24/12/2017 16:15

Ticket to a fight if she complains, no doubt ... good luck, OP!

SilverySurfer · 24/12/2017 16:16

Raisin in future when I post something that is as obviously light hearted as my filming suggestion was, and recognised as such by everyone but you, would you like me to type:

LIGHT HEARTED or JOKE under my post, just for you?

Happy Christmas Wine

Just checking in for the update later - it's already gone midday on Christmas Day here, just waiting for lunch! DH cooks Christmas lunch (it's his only contribution to Christmas, usually) so I'm just hanging out with the kids and grandma, watching a DVD. Xmas GrinWine
