Anyone remember the Flexi-time CF?

Thought I'd heard the last of her but unfortunately not. Colleague who left her job due to cheeky fuckery with her flexi-time for those of you who missed the first instalment.

I'm moving between fuming, embarrassed and incredulous at the moment. I've also laughed but I think that's shock more than anything Smile
DH and I were out for the afternoon at a Christmas market. Had a lovely day and stopped at an coffee shop with tables outside before coming home.
We'd been there about 10 minutes when I noticed a group of ladies in their 60's a few tables away and one of them was staring straight at me. I didn't recognise her and carried on with chatting with DH. I noticed her again when all her friends started turning round to have a look. I didn't know any of them.
I'm starting to think she may be someone I'd been in contact with in a work capacity as she is looking quite angry. As I said in the original thread I work with children/families and I have been approached by people previously who have been angry and upset. Only a couple of times though.
I continue to ignore it and we're getting ready to leave. DH goes inside to pay and use the loo and the minute he does this lady gets up and comes over, with her takeaway coffee cup in her hand. I can tell by her face it's not going to be a pleasant chat.
She asks if I'm pleased with myself and I say "I'm sorry, I don't know who you are". She says she's FTCF's mother and who do I think I am to refuse her daughter a reference! Do I realise I've ruined her career and I should be ashamed of myself. Everyone is looking now and I don't want to get into it so I just say she really doesn't have all the information.
She then takes the lid off her coffee and empties it into my fucking handbag on the table and walks off!!!!
I'm absolutely gobsmacked Shock
I'm home now and want to call FTCF and give her a mouthful but DH is trying to talk me out of it.
Maybe I should just have a large G&T Gin

I’m amazed that leaving your ring at home is cause for a mission to pick it up 😂

Would he explode? Or be mobbed by Ladies rejoicing that CFH is now a free man?

God damn it I’ve forgotten my ring again. I was supposed to be getting that report out but I’m going to have to spend the day beating the ladies off with a shitty stick....

Jux · 12/12/2017 11:36

DooRight Grin, you are baaaaaaad!

ImpeachTheOrangeGibbon · 12/12/2017 11:54

Whole family are bonkers by the sound of it.

Who actually walks up to a total stranger and empties their coffee into their handbag?? Batshit!

ImpeachTheOrangeGibbon · 12/12/2017 11:54

Going to miss this thread... it's been hilarious ladies!

Salvadore · 12/12/2017 12:04

Surely it’s not over yet impeach.

ImpeachTheOrangeGibbon · 12/12/2017 12:09

Hope not!

Traffig · 12/12/2017 12:32

@ DooRight ha ha!

I've got to go out to the Supermarket.Brew

Taking a BIG BIG chance on leaving my wedding ring ( and handbag) at home.

Never used that predictive text... might be life changing if I try it.Grin

EBearhug · 12/12/2017 12:34

Be fairBearhug, It might have thought that you had been recruited as a Wild West Sheriff and were organising the round-up of dome baddies.

Ah, wish-fulfillment autocorrect. Although the ones I would want to round up just now are merely incompetent, rather than actually bad.

mummmy2017 · 12/12/2017 12:44

The I not actually hiding behind the wallpaper... Comment...
OMG classic.

New handbags please.

AlpacaPicnic · 12/12/2017 12:45

I haven't worn my wedding ring for years -
because I got too fat

The only time a man threw himself at me recently was the one on my bus who slipped and landed on my farmhouse loaf :(

DooRight · 12/12/2017 12:54

*@AlpacaPicnic *

" landed on my farmhouse loaf " - is that a euphemism..?

MarthasHarbour · 12/12/2017 12:57

Absolutely gutted i missed the deleted posts but i get the gist.

Another one who was more concerned about the price of a wasted Costa. OP i hope you drank it, free Costa - not to be sniffed at Wink

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 12/12/2017 13:02

Brings a whole new meaning to "handbags at dawn"

Goodasgoldilox · 12/12/2017 13:11

The coffee-sharing incident on here led me to look slightly mad this morning - I suddenly found being asked for a tea-bag inexplicably funny !

In the interests of total fairness, can I offer support for Mommy?

; ) Not about CFs of course - but about spelling.

I suspect that some spell-checkers have been set to learn from their owners. ( If you keep what the spell-checker sees as a incorrect spelling, it can adjust and offer you this word at a future time.)
Anyone using Mommy's phone could now spell just as she does.

LagunaBubbles · 12/12/2017 13:25

Seriously glad you reported this to the Police, you would never believe quickly theses type of situations can escalate sadly.

MrWriter · 12/12/2017 13:29

oh my goodness, missed the original thread, you couldn't make this up!

Off to read the original FTCF-ery.

BerylStreep · 12/12/2017 13:47

Presumably the mother has been issued with a harassment notice?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2017 14:08

That had gone through my mind DooRight . . . (as there was nothing in there to impede its progress, it Exited, Stage Left, Pursued by a CheekyFucker)

It could be totally Freudian that he "forgets" his ring. I can see her in my mind's eye, part-way through a shag . . . "Hold it right there FTCFDH - it's been half an hour since I checked on the Precious Fruit of My Womb . . . ."

"They're both there. . . .
'COME ON, MAN! FASTER! HARDER! FFS!!! - IT'S GOING TO BE TIME FOR THE NEXT CHILDCHECK BEFORE YOU'RE FINISHED AT THIS RATE!!!!!"

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/12/2017 14:11

free Costa - not to be sniffed at

Au contraire, Martha - sniffing at Costa is the most I would be prepared to do. That stuff is muck!

Scaredycat3000 · 12/12/2017 14:20

Bloody hell, toxic families usually keep their madness within, or at least until they think you are under their control of sorts, FOG fear obligation & guilt, usually trained from birth. They obviously believe their own version of reality to the extent that they assume you would be experiencing FOG for losing the FTCF her job and that it was safe to include you in their madness, I mean in their heads how could you not be feeling guilty?
I wonder how they have rewritten the undeniable truth that the Police came round and told them clearly it's their fault? In my experience the story usually has huge gaping holes in it, maybe she's telling people the police were just warning her that the OP was making malicious accusations and best to stay well away. It is surreal to see in RL a serious unpleasant situation very definitely of MIL's making being rewritten and many phone calls made to gain MIL, good upstanding member of the community, superior christian, some sympathy to people who would never have otherwise known.
So is the FTCF's OH living in some kind of personal confused hell or is he burying his head in the sand enabling all this? He can't honestly think the ring drop off was a good thing?
There are loads of stories of toxic families and the fall out on the sub reddit JustnoMIL . It is very common, my GM, Aunts, my MIL, AuntsIL, and MIL is currently training DN, age 6, in the ways of toxic.

MarthasHarbour · 12/12/2017 14:38

schadenfreude indeed Wink although I now have an image of you in my head passing Costa with your wrinkled nose in the air a la Hyacinth Bucket Grin

QuimReaper · 12/12/2017 14:42

Martha OP only says "a coffee shop", doesn't specify Costa - how could you know this if you are not FTCFDM?!!!

HashiAsLarry · 12/12/2017 15:49

I am in Costa right now.
The baristas refuse to serve my coffee in a handbag.
I shall pen a complaint to head office later.
Obviously some Costa's have no issue with this.

MiddleClassProblem · 12/12/2017 15:53

Sounds so hipster

Traffig · 12/12/2017 15:56

@HashiAsLarry
Ditto for me in Morrisons Café
They refused to serve me without my wedding ring on.
It wasn't like this in my day.
I blame the Tories and Brexit.
