To be disappointed/peed off with CBeebies?

ButterfliesAreWeird · 04/12/2017 20:07

Today I bought my son the monthly CBeebies magazine and this was smack bang in the middle of it. It was supposed to be about doctors but this is just promoting cancer, heart disease, diabetes, ect. I'm no vegan but I know when I'm sitting there eating a cheese and egg sandwich that it's not good for me, yet this is stating it's vital to have 2 unhealthy groups of food each day to be healthy. This gos against the NHS, the WHO, and just science in general. I would have expected this 10 years ago but it's 2017 and we know better.

To be disappointed/peed off with CBeebies?

So a diet that contains protein, fat and dairy is unhealthy and bad for you? Hmm

KindergartenKop · 05/12/2017 19:07

Fish biscuits are not vegan.

demeego · 05/12/2017 19:26
Xmas Biscuit
MrsG841 · 05/12/2017 20:13

Still no response from OP then......

HandbagKrabby · 05/12/2017 20:25

I always thought fish biscuits were like cat biscuits, biscuits for fish rather than biscuits from fish?

What’s with all the crazy food threads? It’s December - give it a rest til Puritan January!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 05/12/2017 20:45

Just like babycham - booze for a baby.

ButterfliesAreWeird · 05/12/2017 20:54

Ok, I don't know why people are going off on one. No I didn't say anything about protein and fat, just meat fish and eggs. That NHS link is totally different if you actually read it. I'll read the second half of this craziness in a bit

@ButterfliesAreWeird oh good you're back.

Any chance of those peer reviews you were banging on about?

Ecureuil · 05/12/2017 20:56

Peer reviewed articles, OP?

SpareASquare · 05/12/2017 21:00

In the past few years they have proved meat, eggs, and dairy cause heat disease, diabetes, and cancers
Would you like me to find you some peer reviewed studies?

Waiting, waiting, waiting..

MrsG841 · 05/12/2017 21:00

Empty promises.........Hmm

Ecureuil · 05/12/2017 21:02

just meat fish and eggs

It was meat, eggs and dairy earlier! Now dairy is ok but fish is a no no?

ButterfliesAreWeird · 05/12/2017 21:06

Alright grammar nazi. Calm down you lot. I'll get to it when I get to it, if you're that desperate go do it yourself 😂

OP posts:
HandbagKrabby · 05/12/2017 21:09

Have you got any booze f’t baby?
Booze! Fer a baby?!?

Ah nostalgia.

Op please link to the eat well peanut butter plate! Though how anyone can eat peanut butter without the addition of bread and milk is beyond me.

Ecureuil · 05/12/2017 21:09

Who is a grammar Nazi?!

I'll get to it when I get to it, if you're that desperate go do it yourself

That confirms to me that you’re nothing but a GF. Over and out.

NorksAkimbo72 · 05/12/2017 21:09

Sorry OP...when you make big claims, the burden of proof is on you...you can't make us go find out for ourselves! Besides...you did offer to share links, so let's have them!

BastardGoDarkly · 05/12/2017 21:09
Hmm
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 05/12/2017 21:09

How is the NHS eatwell link totally different?

It’s got beans and pulses in the protein section as well as meat, fish and eggs. But that’s probably the only complaint you can make about the picture in your OP.

Imchangingmyname · 05/12/2017 21:11

OP, your username. You need to change it to IAmWeird, if it's not already taken.

You're welcome.

SpareASquare · 05/12/2017 21:12

Calm down you lot. I'll get to it when I get to it, if you're that desperate go do it yourself

Hmm, well I tried to OP. There didn't appear to be any for me but you appear to know where to find them.
Besides, you offered. If you're having trouble, just say so and we'll know not to wait

donquixotedelamancha · 05/12/2017 21:15

"Who is a grammar Nazi?!"

Ecureuil, but OP doesn't understand what a grammar Nazi is either.

How do you follow someone on MN? ButterfliesAreWeird is seriously entertaining.

SittingAround1 · 05/12/2017 21:19

What's wrong with meat, fish and eggs?

I can understand highly prossesed meats being bad for you, but buy a nice free range chicken, roast it in the oven (and then make 10 meals out of the rest à la MN) and you can't go wrong.
Same for eggs, they are so simple and versatile - poached, scrambled, fried, boiled all healthy (ok fried a bit less) inexpensive and tasty.

Fish oil is incredibly good for you aswell.

MrMeSeeks · 05/12/2017 21:21

This just keeps on giving Grin

hazeyjane · 05/12/2017 21:44

Anyone ever tried a cheggy vol au vent - the egg, the cheese sauce, the flaky pastry. Classy and nutritious.

tomatopuree · 05/12/2017 22:07

I spat my coffee out and automatically thought of Keith Chegwin...
