For no reason.

Mine is Wings by Little Mix and I don’t really know why. I’m not even a fan of them, although they’re very cute. I’ve just listened to to the song and the tears are flowing. My DP is Hmm.
The other is God Only Knows but I understand why that would make me cry.

Anyway. what songs are guaranteed to make you have good cry.

The flower than shattered the stone - John Denver.... sob

SparklingSnowfall · 02/12/2017 21:29

Quirky I've always loved it but then DS sang it's part of his reception School assembly, I was a right mess!!

lifesaverormassmurderer · 02/12/2017 21:30

Don't Give Up by Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel.

quirkychick · 02/12/2017 21:36

Sparkling no wonder! I love it but get choked up and emotional by it. Children singing stuff is guaranteed to be weepy...

kangaremedy · 02/12/2017 21:36

Scars on Sam Smiths new album.

I’ve never been overcome by emotion like that ever when listening to a song, got me the very first time I heard it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2017 21:40

So many already mentioned.

Forever Young - originally by Bob Dylan but I defy anyone to watch this version and not be reduced to tears

Also, this version of Fix You has me sobbing

tararabumdeay · 02/12/2017 21:42

I'll See You in my Dreams - concert for George.

DS told me about it with tears in his eyes. I knew then (and many times before) that I had an emotionally mature and decent boy.
DS played it weeks later on ukulele at a gathering for a friend who'd recently died so double blubber.

'Where Does the Time Go' Sandy Denny - what a voice.

Of course 'Nimrod' So few for so many but each one a hero. How dare it be used for a dog food advert!

myidentitymycrisis · 02/12/2017 21:51

Heroes - Bowie

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 02/12/2017 21:53

I didn't know Supermarket Flowers but it's been mentioned in so many posts here I had to investigate. Another one to add to my list. God, I miss my mum so much...

Mishappening · 02/12/2017 21:57

One Moment More by Mindy Smith. She wrote it when her mother was dying of cancer. I defy anyone to listen to it without crying.

Mindy Smith has the most beautiful voice - Angel Doves is a gem.

littletike · 02/12/2017 21:58

So many of these.

But right now Ariane Grande one last time every single time.

BackBoiler · 02/12/2017 21:59

littletike it has a whole new meaning now

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 02/12/2017 22:02

Not a well known one..... But sad and hauntingly beautiful.
DP and I caught it by accident on Songs of Praise.

blueshoes · 02/12/2017 22:03

Don't Cry Daddy - Elvis Presley
Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt
Who Wants to Live Forever - Queen
And On - Yazoo

KittiKat · 02/12/2017 22:03

Slipping Through My Fingers by Abba.

I cry thinking about my daughter every time I hear it.

Squaerial · 02/12/2017 22:04

Shiny Happy People by REM. Played at my friend's funeral. She knew she was dying of cancer and chose it herself. We were 17 and now I'm nearly 40 and it almost upsets me more than it did then, because I think how much she missed out on.

Maddiemademe · 02/12/2017 22:07

sarah mclachlan angel

locketpocket · 02/12/2017 22:13

Ave Maria
Memory from Cats (not helped by scd earlier)
Whole lotta history by 1D. Came out when stbxh had just left without reason. Totally over him now 2 years later, but that song takes me straight back to that moment in time.

Allwashedup · 02/12/2017 22:13

Only You - Yazoo

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2017 22:14

Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson - Gulf Coast Highway

Squaerial · 02/12/2017 22:16

Only you by Yazoo was played at my grandma's funeral but the Flying Pickets version gets me more for some reason.

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/12/2017 22:18

I saw Les Miserables on stage
I started crying when Fantine sang i Dreamed a Dream
And carried on weeping the whole show
DD was disgusted
On My Own
Empty Chairs
Bring Him Home
One Day More
