toriatoriatoria · 29/11/2017 20:41

I'm in the same boat... I'd love to slim down a bit but the cake is too tempting!

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 29/11/2017 20:42

There's also cheese. Big cheese fan.

I'm in a permanent battle between vanity and greediness.

ScreamingValenta · 29/11/2017 20:42

I can live without the Cake but not the Wine Sad !

friendlessme · 29/11/2017 20:44

I live with a constant battle in my head. Argh I’m too fat must diet. Oh I love eating so much I’m not that fat. Oh I’m too fat... etc. It’s actually awful!

onlyjustme · 29/11/2017 20:46

The two reasons I run!!!

onlyjustme · 29/11/2017 20:46

wine and cake I mean!

Everythingwillbeok · 29/11/2017 20:46

I'm not fat. I'm not slim. I'm also not willing to give up chinese, wine, chocolate, chips and pizza.
So I eat what I want (along with salads, fruit and veg) and I walk everywhere.
To me that's a happy medium and a compromise. And I'm happy with that.
I'm a size 14 I'm probably the biggest where I work but they literally calorie count everything that's no life to me.
I had a chicken sandwich and chips for lunch today and they were literally staring and salivating.
I've had jacket potato and tuna for tea. Don't understand the mindset of not having what you fancy.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 29/11/2017 20:48

I used to be slim and could eat what I want. 2 kids later and the willpower of a fly on shit and now I think next have got the sizes all wrong...

I’m getting married in a year in March. After Christmas cake and wine will no longer be for me. I’m very sad about this. I will however just drink slightly less wine

BitOutOfPractice · 29/11/2017 20:51

Don't understand the mindset of not having what you fancy.

Because if I had what I fancy every day, I'd be a lot bigger than a 14

I try to concentrate on making healthy food really delicious

Cake doesn't interest me very much. Wine does though Sad

5:2. You can’t go mad but you can more or less eat the things you enjoy.

Doobigetta · 29/11/2017 20:56

5:2. You can do without anything for a day at a time.

Ofthread · 29/11/2017 20:57

Do you imagine yourself running towards wine and cake?

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 29/11/2017 20:58

I've mentioned the 5:2 diet to my husband ...he's pretty sure we wouldn't make it past the first day...I'm a bit unpleasant when I'm hungry

GrandDesespoir · 29/11/2017 20:59

Could live without wine, but cake is my downfall. (And chocolate and biscuits and crisps and bread and cheese...)

IfNot · 29/11/2017 21:02

Excercise. It's the only way. It's also the only way I ever lose weight, despite everyone saying it doesn't work. I just can't diet. I too love the cheese. And the cake. And the wine. Bread. Sausages. Foooood!

ScarlettInSpace · 29/11/2017 21:02

I tried 5:2 once. When week one ended as 7:0 I realised it wasn't for me Grin

Foofer · 29/11/2017 21:03

I cut down on what I was eating and was managing to slim down which was great! Then we adopted a dog so I started walking loads and toning up too, also great! But upping exercise I started eating more again - eating like a bear getting ready for hibernation. And now we're on the run up to Christmas so... Wine Cake Wine Cake

Jaygee61 · 29/11/2017 21:06

I’m hypothyroid, really hard to stay slim.....

Mominatrix · 29/11/2017 21:08

I love wine, cake, and bread and am slim. Just eat them in moderation and exercise.

SaucyJack · 29/11/2017 21:08

Yeah, YABU. I could die happily without ever eating cake again.

But I'd die fat from all the Indian takeaway tho.

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2017 21:08

Someone said this week don't eat anything beige but chicken is a good way to start.

Oh and exercise. The old eat less, move more thing.

Willpower and the right mindset are essential though, you have to pick the right time.

Bringmewineandcake · 29/11/2017 21:20

Ahem
I did the fast diet for 3 weeks earlier this year and lost 10lb Shock
Only stopped it briefly for DD2’s baptism and that was it, ruined.
