Well I run between 6-10k a time twice a week, do two aerobic classes and a weight class - I work hard as well because I am an adrenaline junky- I am also 47, hypothyroid and peri menopausal - I’m fat - I don’t eat masses of good either - it’s shit

Mittens1969 · 30/11/2017 07:49

I love chocolate, cheese, cake and wine. Thankfully for me, I love fruit as well, so I try to eat that rather than chocolate and cake and, for the moment at least, my weight is under control. (I'm a yo-yo dieter so it's been a lifelong battle for me.)

For the moment I'm a size 12 so I'm reasonably happy. Smile

TrinitySquirrel · 30/11/2017 07:54

I barely ate a thing the past few days due to feeling off yet to my surprise I've gained 2lbs overnight Hmm

This better be the biggest poop of my life.

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/11/2017 07:59

On ww at the moment and missing my 🍷Been having a couple fri and sat but no cake sadly.
My friend solely runs in order to be able to have her wine maybe I need to do this

Stillwishihadabs · 30/11/2017 08:02

Post 35 you can either eat what you want, drink what you want or weigh what you want- Tis simple. I have black coffee and a banana for breakfast mon-fri. Small lunch and normal dinner, no booze. At the weekends I relax. I run 5k twice a week and have a BMI of 21

Jasminedes · 30/11/2017 08:06

My solidly overweight size stayed exactly the same when running regularly and half marathon training for loads of events in a row.

Jasminedes · 30/11/2017 08:10

However, I can confirm that now I have cut down/practically cut out sweet things and wine, I don’t really want them any more. I have also not lost weight.

CharisMama · 30/11/2017 08:15

Diet every second day. It works better

Onefliesoverthecuckoosnest · 30/11/2017 08:16

I really do believe that it varies from person to person. I am in my early forties and I have been as little as a size 12, but I really have to work at it. So for me to remain a size 12, I eat boiled eggs and a piece of fruit or half an avocado for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch, maybe a small handful of nuts and something like stir fry or ramen for supper. No wine. Maybe 2 g and ts a week and a couple of squares of dark chocolate sometimes. Oh, and I train 4 x a week - 2 circuits/ HIIT, one powerlifting, one spin class, and walk everywhere.

If I deviate from this, I am a size 14/16 in weeks.

nickEcave · 30/11/2017 15:12

I have been running regularly for around a year now and for the last few months have run 7-10K twice a week. I also really like wine and nice food. I am a bit more toned than I was a year ago and have big muscles all the way up my legs but I have not lost a single pound.

Thebluedog · 30/11/2017 15:28

My downfall is weekends. I can be brilliant duiring the week, eat well and exercise and lose weight, then a nightmare on weekends and put it all back on again. Which would be fine if I wasn’t a fat cow to start with

TriHard27 · 01/12/2017 20:38

To be fair an easy paced 10k isnt going to cut it, you need consistent decent mileage and your body to be working hard when you go out to see improvements.

IfNot · 01/12/2017 22:25

Everybody really is different. If I excercise regularly the weight just drops off. And i mean just regular hiking on the fells ( not running)I just can't diet, love my food. Shame I'm too lazy at the moment!

Wtfdoicare · 01/12/2017 22:38

I started running 3 years ago and lost 5kg, BMI is now 21, size 6-8. Feel amazing, run about 10-15 miles a week and pretty much eat and drink what I want, but I don't have a massive appetite.

BaldricksTrousers · 01/12/2017 23:40

You could always develop crippling IBS like me, become food-phobic, and drop 4 dress sizes in 6 months.

Honestly, after a few weeks you stop craving cake and chocolate....

laudanum · 01/12/2017 23:47

Cheese is totally my weakness. Especially Brie. 🤤

GunnyHighway · 02/12/2017 00:19

I love beer 🍺 and cheese 🧀 and wine 🍷 and rum and coke 🍹 or jd, steak, lamb a bbq etc etc.

I run 🏃 often and honestly wonder if i'd just be happier giving in.

Jaygee61 · 02/12/2017 11:12

I have an underactive thyroid. For me weight loss really is not a simple matter of calories in les than calories out equals weight loss but a delicate balancing act between the two. My thyroid is like a compulsive fat hoarder! Feels like too much effort sometimes.

Knackerelli · 02/12/2017 11:41

I run 10-15 miles a week, included in that is an intense efforts session of sprints and hills. I’ve also trained for half marathons. Not lost a pound. Trying 16:8 now as 5:2 messed with my head.

Desmondo2016 · 02/12/2017 12:25

The bottom line is it's a simple case of maths. You could run 5 marathoms a wrek but if your calories in are not less than your calories out you wont lose weight. Equally you can never get off the sofa but if you eat less than you burn then you WILL lose. A 3500 calorie deficit equals a pound of fat loss. And most people massively over estimate their calorie burn and underestimate their consumption. Quite considerably in some cases!

BitchQueen90 · 02/12/2017 13:01

I love chocolate and cheese. And cake. Not too fussed about wine.

I'm a size 8/10 but I put all my weight on round my middle so I have a bit of a muffin top. High waisted trousers hold it in. Grin
