To think it's unfair on HRH Catherine

It's been on my mind that a spring wedding is one way to make sure all eyes are on you and not Catherine. As depending on the date chosen she'll either be extremely heavily pregnant or possibly postpartum, she's never really rushed to the celeb demands of having your pre-pregnancy body in 4 weeks. If she has HG that lasts till term she really won't enjoy the day, I remember one heavily pregnant Mum when I got married going home in the end to rest she was struggling that much.

It'll be a dilemma for William as he'll want to celebrate the day, as will Catherine. If she's heavily pregnant or post partum he got really overly drink, I think I'm right in thinking Catherine BF so she can't drink and needs somewhere private to feed. (Plus possibly an outfit that allows for ease of feeding)

I'm wondering if there's already an announcement due for once their married, that Harry & Meghan are expecting, thus the 4/5 month turn around if not quicker, going by my interpretations of Spring. It seems rather rushed.

I understand given Meghan's age it's now or never, I just feel it's a bit harsh on Catherine, as in any scenario she'll not overly get to celebrate the day. She's always been close to Harry, so I assume she'd want to take part and have a time similar to her wedding, partying till the small hours.

A summer wedding would give Catherine & William the luxury of not worrying if baby will arrive imminently, or that Catherine will be postpartum, knackered and really not feel like a part of the day.

I know it's Harry & Meghan's big day, but as I've said he's always been close to his brother and SIL. I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.

battleax seriously? Haven't seen that. Should be fun!

Very worried they will have their noses put out of joint, as they are very much used to being the big fish of royal toddlers. Hope George's reception teachers are keeping a special eye out for him right now. My thoughts are with them all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OVienna · 28/11/2017 12:07

I'm overinvested in the idea that Kate is hoping she'll get to watch the whole thing on TV at home, snuzzled up next to her newborn, delighted with the free pass not to participate.

RoseWhiteTips · 28/11/2017 12:09

The description “HEAVILY pregnant” could not have been applied to Kate in either of her previous pregnancies. Lol
She is always pretty neat.

KateMiddletonsOtherMum · 28/11/2017 12:12

Fear not OP!! I've bought my new hat and will be representing the Cambridges. In fact, I'm going to be Matron of Honour.

Choccywoccyhooha · 28/11/2017 12:15

Good grief. I was pregnant at my own wedding. I had a fantastic day, and happily watched my friends and family drink. I still managed to stay up late and everything! What a ridiculous thread OP. Plenty of pregnant women attend weddings all the time.

eddiemairswife · 28/11/2017 12:15

She's probably glad that Harry won't be hanging around with her and William all the time.

Buxtonstill · 28/11/2017 12:23

Never heard anything so vicarious. Why are you so concerned?

BitOutOfPractice · 28/11/2017 12:26

I thought I couldn't care less about this wedding. But I have just found something to care even less about it, how Kate feels about it Hmm

SpeghanSparkle · 28/11/2017 12:27

The date has been announced! It's 1 April 2018.

jaimelannistersgoldenhand · 28/11/2017 12:27

Most importantly- do Royal Wedding invites come with a poem? Where do you purchase the gifts from?

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/11/2017 12:29

Can't understand the timing either why not wait for a summer wedding and then the third baby will here too

Creambun2 · 28/11/2017 12:30

Meghan is probably pregnant.

AstridWhite · 28/11/2017 12:31

Meghan is 36. They have said they'd like children. I imagine they'd like to start TTC tomorrow if they could, but a) they can't be seen to be PG before the wedding and b) royal weddings don't come together overnight.

I imagine they just want to get on with it as quickly as possible. Kate and William have had the spotlight on them enough in recent years that I am quite sure they will live with the media circus being focused elsewhere for a while.

JonSnowsWife · 28/11/2017 12:33

creambun2 it crossed my mind too. But only because a school mum said yesterday "do you think it'll be before or after the baby?".

I said oh yeah I didnt think if that maybe Meghan is pregnant.

She was on about Kate's baby! Grin Blush

NellGin · 28/11/2017 12:34

If she’s pregnant she will be 6/7 months gone in Spring. I can’t see her trundling down the aisle like that personally.

hazymoon · 28/11/2017 12:37

Well i think yabu to call someone HRH, regardless of it being her ridiculous title, i think it's very sycophantic to refer to any of them that way. It's all a load of BS.

In answer to your aibu, yes you certainly are. When you consider the troubles and hardships facing so many people across the country, the issue of whether Harry's new bride maybe stealing her thunder is so trivial as to be beyond ridiculous.

In short, who bloody well cares if it upsets her. Life is full of upsets, i'm sure she'll cope.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 28/11/2017 12:37

She isnt pregnant. They refused that rumour in their interview yesterday.

Royal engagements are always very short.

CountessOfStrathearn · 28/11/2017 12:40

I'd imagine the timing is not being delayed because the groom has increasingly frail grandparents that he'd like to be there.

(Engagement for me and DH lasted 3 months - wonder what people thought of that?!)

VulgarWheat · 28/11/2017 12:43

Dear God. There are actually people who give this much attention to these idiots.
OP there are actual, real issues in the world to pay attention to. Cannot believe people get worked up about this shit

Butteredparsn1ps · 28/11/2017 12:43

I was BF when BIL got married and wore a suit from Wallis. Shall I dig it out from the back of the cupboard and see if Kate needs a lend of it?

HadronCollider · 28/11/2017 12:45

An early April wedding brings a high risk of showers and blustery weather.

I expect Kate and Will are actually happy to take the back seat for once and are, you know, happy for Harry and Meghan and are doing what decent people generally do, prioritising H and M happiness over that of their own? I know if it was my Bro I would. I mean this thread assumes a certain mean spiritedness on Kate's part that is entirely unwarranted really and the HG does not seem a big issue at mo.

berliozwooler · 28/11/2017 12:47

I'm sure Kate and William are very pleased that the attention is off them for once.

MsHarry · 28/11/2017 12:47

Can’t believe you are concerned about it. Seriously?
Well my opinion is that these things are carefully managed and protocol is followed.

JonSnowsWife · 28/11/2017 12:48

Good point Countess

The DofE looked a bit unsteady on his feet a couple of times the other week didn't he?

Cornettoninja · 28/11/2017 12:49

OP there are actual, real issues in the world to pay attention to

Hmm

Most people are capable of following several subjects. For instance I find that the less time I spend sanctimoniously policing people on the internet the more time I have for keeping an eye on Reuters for the latest developments in the Middle East.
