To ask in what ways you are trampy

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 10:55

I posted a AIBU about not using pads and it got me thinking about other stuff people do behind closed doors that make them kinda trampy. Is it just me? Am I just a disgusting hobo freak hybrid?
Stuff I do:

  • TP instead of pads at home
  • Sometimes eat out the saucepan - I mean, why not?
  • If not particularly cold I'll just wear my boots without socks
  • Re-use same mug throughout day for all drinks
  • Sleep in makeup if too lazy
  • Wear clearly dirty clothes around house
  • Have been known to use mugs for cereal and soup because too lazy to wash up bowls
  • Do a bun because hair full of knots and cant be fucked to brush it just to go down to shop

My sister is the sort to apply full contouring make-up just to go for a Sunday walk.

Clearly something got seriously fucked up in our childhood

The Daily Fail will have a field day with this thread if they see it....

Emlou07 · 27/11/2017 07:51

The hair thing is a win here. Same cup just makes sense as long as it's rinsed out. Even the saucepan I can justify..

I live in my pj's unless someone is coming over or we're going out. & I often sleep in my make up because I'm lazy and my skin is VERY forgiving.

But the TP is just weird. Get yourself a moon cup!

LakieLady · 27/11/2017 07:55

I sometimes wake in the night to find the dog helping herself to a drink from the glass of water by the bed. If I need a drink too, I use the same glass/water, because I can't be arsed to get up, rinse and refill it.

Amazingly, I haven't yet caught distemper, kennel cough or any other canine diseases.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 27/11/2017 08:04

LakieLady I think I've been immunised against most known cat diseases in the same way.

I shower daily and wear clean clothes - jeans will do a couple of days but nothing with spills or stains on.

I clean the floors and Hoover once a week if there's time, unless there's a spillage. I don't wash up every day, but the dishwasher does most of it. One of the cats has to eat at the table to stop the old cat getting her food and making himself sick, so I clean that thoroughly before humans eat at it, but mostly I clean if it's dirty rather than just in case. If I had more time I would do more cleaning, but we are ok and rarely ill, so we must be killing enough germs to get by.

I love the shocked and aghast posters on threads like these. Grin

Don’t you end up with dog hairs floating in the glass which then get caught in your mouth?!

WaitrosePigeon · 27/11/2017 09:04

I love this thread, thanks OP.

Thebluedog · 27/11/2017 09:05

I work from home so very often wear the same jeans and jumper most of the week (although I do shower Grin)

Same mug all day too

LakieLady · 27/11/2017 09:07

She's a non-moulting breed, so that's a rare event. They float anyway, so can easily be removed from the surface with a fingertip. Grin

AnachronisticCorpse · 27/11/2017 09:19

I spend every weekend in pyjamas unless we’re going out or having company.

I also do the TP thing, but then I only have about one period a year and it’s very very light (Mirena).

Same mug all day, I thought that was pretty standard if I’m honest.

I don’t brush my hair at all, just comb it through after washing it one a week (very thick, frizzy and bright pink).

I very often sniff and wear again, particularly jumpers, in fact the one I usually throw in just for the school run rarely gets a wash.

redexpat · 27/11/2017 09:28

I get too hungry for dinner at 8.
I like the theatre but never come late.
I never bother with people I hate.

GinDoll · 27/11/2017 10:03

I do not change clothes unless they are dirty or they smell but to be fair my day clothes don't get much wear because the second I get home if I know I'll be in for over an hour I change back into pyjamas. My bedding gets changed on the same premise dirty or smelly. No set schedule. I do not brush my hair often and the other day had DH cut 6 inches off the ends because it was tangled and it seemed easier (it'd been tucked up under a hat all day). Generally it doesn't tangle because it's so thin.

Can't see the problem with TP instead of pads, it's absorbent and honestly as long as blood isn't running down your legs who cares. It's only blood. I do recommend a moon cup (cheap generic one in my case) though.

YoloSwaggins · 27/11/2017 18:47

To the people who change pyjamas every day:

When you go on holiday do you take 7 sets of pyjamas with you???

That would explain how my friends manage to pack 27kg while I pack 8.

And about putting "clean" clothes on everyday, IMO if they have no visible stains then they are clean....

FritzDonovan · 28/11/2017 10:48

Make sure you sniff the pits tho yolo... Just in case...

VileyRose · 28/11/2017 10:53

I wear a hat when can't be bothered to brush hair. This time if year is wonderful. I don't do make up for school run or shop. Literally is a waste of time.

Use same mug most of day

Don't bother with pads at home really

Gosh I have loads lol

Eliza9917 · 28/11/2017 14:55

Regarding the TP use, and all the posts saying using anything other than 'proper' products is disgusting, what do you think people used for fuck knows how many years before commercial pads/tampons came about (I'm guessing the 50's?)?

I use a mooncup as I'm trying to go as chemical & waste free as possible but apparently, years ago, people just used rags that they washed out, or an old version of a mooncup.

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with using TP, as long as its changed regularly.

Apparently there many many girls, in this country, in period poverty that use TP, would you turn round and call them disgusting to their faces?

Eliza9917 · 28/11/2017 15:29

I'm fucking vile by these responses.

  • TP instead of pads at home -
No, I have a mooncup. Only done this in an emergency otherwise
  • Sometimes eat out the saucepan - I mean, why not?
Yep, would and have done this. I once served an exbf his dinner on a baking tray lol.
  • If not particularly cold I'll just wear my boots without socks
No, would be far too uncomfortable.
  • Re-use same mug throughout day for all drinks
Of course, bad for the environment otherwise. Everyone does it where I work
  • Sleep in makeup if too lazy
Most days.
  • Wear clearly dirty clothes around house
Yep. Also don't get dressed if not going out. Get into pj's/house clothes as soon as I get in. Don't wear a bra indoors. Have put a coat & jeans on over house clothes to go to the shop to avoid getting dressed properly.
  • Have been known to use mugs for cereal and soup because too lazy to wash up bowls
Yep. Have also been known to use paper plates & plastic knives & forks in the past once there's nothing clean left. And thrown pans away because I cba to clean them. 've also re-used a side/sandwich plate and when i bit dirtier, put kitchen paper on it so I can re-use it
  • Do a bun because hair full of knots and cant be fucked to brush it just to go down to shop
Yes, on weekends though if i'm not going anywhere. I try to only wash my hair once a week as its dry and frizzy

My bras do not get washed as often as they should.
same here

I don’t flush away wees if I’m home alone but that’s environmental right?
Yep, and we catch hand-washing water and throw it down the toilet to flush it.

I have found that baby wipes are excellent for getting rid of marks from nylony school trousers and fleeces!
I clean everything with wipes - trying to move away from antibac ones and disposable as well.

I only iron bed linen and dh’s shirts (dc shirts too but they rarely wear any).
I never iron anything usually, unless going out out

I wear odd socks.
I never pair up socks, just put them away as they are if they get put away and don't just stay on the airer

I don’t wash up the pizza tray in between uses unless some cheese has melted over and burnt on.
I used to put tin foil on the baking tray so I could take it off and not have to wash it

We let the dogs in the bed.

Also, I often eat my dinner in bed.
We do this most days

I think that's enough for now, I am slovenly but changing my ways.

Eliza9917 · 28/11/2017 15:39

We also share bathwater, sometimes & towels, and don't wash them after every use

You can get those off with baby wipes Grin Grin

i once admitted on mn that i hadn’t washed my bathmat in over a year and everyone lost their minds.

i live with, amongst other things, depression, OCD and arthritis. depression says NO DON’T GET OUT OF BED EVER AGAIN and ocd is all OH MY GOD CLEAN EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW* and arthritis is a cunt. so my house is very clean but i have a warm, slightly disgusting nest on one of the couches that is blankets, a quilt and pillows/cushions. i don’t care how it looks - it’s safe and comfy.

i’m currently managing a shower every day. no hair washing though as am embracing my curls and only wash it properly once a week or so. today i have a bra and eyebrows on as my neighbour came round for a cup of tea and i wanted to look sane and normal. usually i’m in jarmies the entire time. i love my grubs.

also, i sometimes let one of my cats lick my spoon or drink my water. they all drink out of glasses anyway so what the hey.

and most important of all - today, i washed my bath mats.

  • i genuinely hoover the kitchen about 4 times a day at a minimum. i can only shower in my own bathroom so can’t use the giant rainfall one in the big bathroom, because it might not be clean, even though i clean it all the time. one legendary week, i cleaned the oven 7 hours a day for about 5 days. not arsed about it at the moment at all.
YoloSwaggins · 28/11/2017 15:56

I don't even remember the last time I washed my bathmat....

No foot fungus yet!

Eliza9917 · 28/11/2017 16:15

My bathmat is currently in the hallway as an extra rug because the dog won't walk on laminate and we have to put things down for her to walk on and I haven't got a runner yet. There's two bits of carpet offcut, a towel and a bathmat going from the living room door to the back door.

There are extenuating circumstances for this though. She's only got three legs after an amputation 2.5m ago, and I've also not been home for the last 8 weeks weekends as I've had to go to my mums fri-sun.
