To ask in what ways you are trampy

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 10:55

I posted a AIBU about not using pads and it got me thinking about other stuff people do behind closed doors that make them kinda trampy. Is it just me? Am I just a disgusting hobo freak hybrid?
Stuff I do:

  • TP instead of pads at home
  • Sometimes eat out the saucepan - I mean, why not?
  • If not particularly cold I'll just wear my boots without socks
  • Re-use same mug throughout day for all drinks
  • Sleep in makeup if too lazy
  • Wear clearly dirty clothes around house
  • Have been known to use mugs for cereal and soup because too lazy to wash up bowls
  • Do a bun because hair full of knots and cant be fucked to brush it just to go down to shop

My sister is the sort to apply full contouring make-up just to go for a Sunday walk.

Clearly something got seriously fucked up in our childhood

If I'm at home in "scruffs" that are going in the wash later, I often wipe baby DS nose on my sleeve.

My toenails have the sad remains of nail polish on that I applied 5 months ago.

I fall asleep before brushing my teeth disgracefully often. This one does bother me a bit.

Also eat out of pans sometimes, and have been known to eat out of a mixing bowl when totally desperate and no time to wash up.

I'm a full time workinglone parent to a toddler. As long as we make it to the end of the day in one piece - I don't care if we're covered in snot, eating from fruit bowls and wearing old holey gym kit. Grin

wanderings · 26/11/2017 20:06

Boots without socks? I only buy boots if they look comfy to wear sockless. Ditto trainers; I often wear them on bare feet. (I too have odourless feet!)

formerbabe · 26/11/2017 20:08

PoorYorick

Yes my pillow is orange...so are all my relatives clothes after I give them a hug!

PoorYorick · 26/11/2017 20:09

Eating out of pans makes perfect sense. Less washing up and less time for the food to get cold. I wouldn't do it if I was eating with someone, but by myself? Of course.

I don't think there's anything inherently disgusting about TP instead of pads, I just don't understand why you'd do it since it's the same amount of effort to stick a towel in your pants as some paper....and the towel will be better for absorption, staying put and not disintegrating. With a normal flow you can leave a towel in place for hours but TP won't last anywhere near as long....it's actually more faff, since you'll need to change more often and roll it all up each time.

I do wash my tops after wearing them the once, but that's more out of habit than anything else. If you were just sitting in a room temperature office all day in it, no reason at all why you can't wear it twice.

I've got one, actually. I once needed a tissue really badly and didn't have one, so I used the sweaty gym sock that was in my bag (I'd been to the gym earlier in the day and would put the clothes in the wash when I got home). Still not as disgusting as snotting all over my face in public, I think.

I don't wash my pajamas that often, maybe once a month.

Use toilet paper if I've run out of pads/tampons.

Don't bother changing a dirty top if going out, as have it hidden under my coat.

Sometimes don't brush teeth or shower if making a quick trip to the supermarket in the morning or dropping DD off to nursery.

I let dishes pile up in the sink until they smell.

If I know I'm not leaving the house for the day, I don't bother changing out of my pajamas.

I live in clutter until someone comes round to visit.

My car looks like a skip. I've left McDonalds to rot on the floor or the back seat for days.

HollaHolla · 26/11/2017 20:19

I've not brushed my hair since Friday evening. It's super curly - almost Afro - and only gets a brush near it when it's wet. You'd not notice as it's totally crazy curls.
It will get washed and brushed in the morning, before work.

avocadobrie · 26/11/2017 20:23

I don’t think that any of these ideas are trampy.

Lots of you seem to be over sensitive!

Why wouldn’t you just eat out of a pan? It saves on washing up and it keeps the food nice and warm too!

YoloSwaggins · 26/11/2017 20:23

I only brush my hair when it's wet, I thought that was normal?

Otherwise I look like Hermione from Book 1.

midnightmisssuki · 26/11/2017 20:37

i think its awful to use the word 'trampy'.

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 20:41

@midnightmisssuki
Wjy not report me to the thought police then?

Ive actually been "homeless" myself, missy, amd you know what? There's something better feeling about being defined by what you ARE than what you DONT HAVE

"i think its awful to use the word 'trampy'."

Why? A few people have objected, but haven't explained why.

YoloSwaggins · 26/11/2017 20:45

i think its awful to use the word 'trampy'.

Why? Are you genuinely offended?

Gwenhwyfar · 26/11/2017 20:50

PoorYorick, when people sleep without taking their makeup off the pillows are fine as the makeup is usually absorbed by bedtime. You'd only get makeup on your pillow if you went to bed straight after applying it.

Steeley113 · 26/11/2017 20:50

Doesn’t everyone drink out of the same mug all day? Thought that was normal Grin

I have curly hair so only wash it once a week (if it’s lucky)
My car looks like a tip and I really don’t care, it’s come in handy before too when I accidentally forgot a bra when going swimming (put my cossie on under my clothes) and found one in the back Wink
I’m pretty rubbish at washing my hands Blush

DaisysStew · 26/11/2017 20:50

I've done most of the things on your list op, I even have a special hair wrap that I stick on when I can't be arsed to brush/wash it.

CoalTit · 26/11/2017 20:57

DP just asked me if I'd had a shower earlier on and I said no, I'd had a whore's bath. He looked puzzled and said in his first language: "horse bath?". A short English lesson ensued and I remembered this thread.
Several people seem to have surpassed you in the slobbiness stakes since I last looked, OP.

Tipsytopsyturvy · 26/11/2017 21:04

Coal, What is a whores bath?

phoenix1973 · 26/11/2017 21:20

I wear woolly hats as I cba to wash or brush my hair sometimes.
I wear the same outer clothes for at least 3 days.
I do change undies daily, twice in my running days.
I chuck my recyclables out of the bedroom window onto the back patio rather than carry it down, open the patio door and take it out. My partner calls me a pikey chav for this.

Summerisdone · 26/11/2017 21:21

OP I can relate to so much of what you do Grin

Sometimes if I’m having a lazy day, I will stay in My PJ’s from the night before and then still keep them on for bed that night rather than putting on fresh ones.

Occasionally I get a bit lazy with the washing and then I realise I’m out of wearable underwear (I’ve gained weight so lots of my knickers are too small) so I’ll just go commando under my jeans.

There’s other stuff I probably do too, but can’t think what right now, although I assure you that you’re not alone in your occasional slovenly ways Wink

SlatternIsTrying · 26/11/2017 21:45

I'm presuming a whores bath is the same as a strippers wash - quick wash down at the sink.

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:53

@phoenix1973
LOL at recyclables. Very flamboyant!

RoseWhiteTips · 26/11/2017 22:02

YoloSwaggins

Be assured your house in not clean if you have pretty unclean habits such as not changing your bed linen for two months. The floors must be heaving with dead skin and bacteria.

How gross.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 26/11/2017 22:04

What is a whores bath?
A sink wash of tits and bits

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 26/11/2017 22:04

I mean pits and bits. But washing tits would be a good idea between punters too I'd imagine
