To find Ed Sheeran's music really forced?

Before anyone else says it... #firstworldproblems

But his songs just seem to be tactically written to have mass appeal. Galway Girl rammed full of tired stereotypes... Castle on the Hill which he presents as some kind of 'salt of the earth' autobiographical kind of thing but then admits he's never actually broken his leg (so why say it?)

And the new one, Perfect, seems to have been written as part of a 'wedding song by numbers' kit - falling in love young, prevailing "against the odds", hoping to have children, etc etc.

Yes, obviously music has to be commercial, but people like Adele and Sam Smith (heck even Taylor Swift!) manage to be commercial yet authentically reflect their own experiences.

AIBU? (probably)

I know it's been mentioned already but the Game of Thrones cameo was one of the cringiest, self indulgent, suspension of disbelief terminating, annoying 5 minutes of TV I can remember having the displeasure of viewing.

I don’t know what auto tuned means (old git), but I hear too much Ed Sheeran to apppreciate what he does.

Maybe when I haven’t heard a song by him on the radio, like, for about five years, then one day ‘photograph’ comes on, I might appreciate it.....

So, in my opinion, too overplayed to be appreciated.
Maybe they should put a limit on how many times an artist is given air time, to give other artists a chance? I HATE Galway Girl with a vengeance.

Dave Grohl Tiny Dancer. This was the first time I heard the song, I was born in the 70's too. I do like the songs Elton John's friend wrote though.

The resurgence of MOR is down to sheeran I reckon.

Although I do like a bit if Doobie Brothers...
