Dh wants it 17 degrees where as I like at a comfortable 21 or so.What temp have you got it on right now? Am I being 'nesh' as he says? ( We are from South Yorkshire for those who don't recognise that term) I know this isn't the most riveting of threads so I'll apologise now 😁

  1. Although OH would happily have it around 30 Hmm
DaisysStew · 23/11/2017 18:12

17 is really cold - I'm with you, I like it around 20/21.

confusedlittleone · 23/11/2017 18:14

19 since that's mid way for both

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 23/11/2017 18:14
  1. 17 is bloody freezing!
Cupoteap · 23/11/2017 18:15

Haha one of the best things about leaving exh, no more silent turning it up and down - it stays where I put it

HerOtherHalf · 23/11/2017 18:15

Go low. Saves you money and you burn more calories.

DrFoxtrot · 23/11/2017 18:16

20+ is comfortable.

I once dated someone who didn't have the heating on as he was the only one in the house. But he hadn't thought to heat it up for when I arrived. It was 13 degrees indoors Shock

OldWitch00 · 23/11/2017 18:17

18-19 by day depending on the dampness. I love a chilly night under a warm duvet so 16. :) love my programable thermostat

Topseyt · 23/11/2017 18:18

20 here. We all seem comfortable with that.

Sarahh2014 · 23/11/2017 18:21

We've both got an app on our phones which can control the thermostat.hence the title 😁

18.5 during the day and 16 at night. Only this high because we have small kids.

CaptainHammer · 23/11/2017 18:26

18-20 in the day and 15 at night here.

Esspee · 23/11/2017 18:26

When we are home 20-21C, overnight 15C and when we are away from home 10C. Just returned from a break in the sun yesterday evening. At the airport before departure I went onto the Internet and reset the temperature to 21C so the house was comfortably warm on our return.
Sometimes technology is wonderful.

Sarahh2014 · 23/11/2017 18:28

Esspee I will be doing the same from the airport in a couple of weeks !

20 here. Occasionally 21/22 if it's windy out to combat the draughts.

17's too bloody low!

Cantspell2 · 23/11/2017 18:33

20 here going up to 22 if I have visitors.
It is not warm enough for my disabled mother so she also has an electric fan and keeps her room at around 25 to 27. Costs the earth to run but still cheaper than heating the whole housetop that level and everyone else feeling uncomfortably warm.

ginghamstarfish · 23/11/2017 18:38

17 is fine for me, DH likes it higher but we compromise by him wearing a fleece or me in short sleeves. 15 at night just keeps it ticking over. Love a cold bedroom and hot water bottle!

MrsPear · 23/11/2017 18:48

WHO suggests 18 for the healthy. See this bbc article

Mine is 20 due to drafts. H is away and it is lovely not to sit in a sauna. He walks around in his pants and therefore wants it at 30 - I tell him it is winter therefore wear clothes. His family do at home. It causes massive arguements.

MrsPear · 23/11/2017 18:50

Oh yes I turn it down a little when I go to bed too

Sarahh2014 · 23/11/2017 19:04

I hate long sleeves in the house so I like to be warm enough in just a vest top and bottoms.we turn it lower at night as don't like a stuffy bedroom

22 for me. also silent thermostat wars on phones. gloriously passive-aggressive.

blondielocks29 · 23/11/2017 19:07

OH and I would agree with your OH I'm afraid, basic is set to 16 here, then we might pop it up to 18 if it gets too chilly 😂
Although downstairs does tend to get a bit warmer in the evenings when we've been cooking etc

MrsPestilence · 23/11/2017 19:08

I like to be warm enough in just a vest top and bottoms glad to see you are doing your bit for global warming Sad

exWifebeginsat40 · 23/11/2017 19:08

but NO RADIATORS on in the bedroom. bedrooms should be cold. hot, stuffy bedrooms remind me of a dreadful sleepless night in a boiling house in Wales. ugh.
