Dh wants it 17 degrees where as I like at a comfortable 21 or so.What temp have you got it on right now? Am I being 'nesh' as he says? ( We are from South Yorkshire for those who don't recognise that term) I know this isn't the most riveting of threads so I'll apologise now 😁

  1. My husband is normally really tight but having a baby means I get it on loads now!
VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 26/11/2017 09:47

People who wear summer clothes then bitch about being cold really piss me off. It's easier for your to warm up than everyone else to cool down, so do the decent thing and wear appropriate clothing.

18c here. 25c when my mother visits and DH and I hate it. It makes me feel so sick.

Kitsharrington · 26/11/2017 09:48

22 but my house is old and I'm always cold!

LaurieMarlow · 26/11/2017 09:52

20/21 but would have it higher if DH wasn't about. I'm miserable when I'm cold.

Whitelisbon · 26/11/2017 09:59
  1. We have a wet electric system (No gas here), and its expensive to keep at 17, I dread to think how much it would cost to keep at any higher. After 7 at night it will only kick in if the living room drops below 10.
Kithulu · 26/11/2017 10:02

Don't have central heating 😢 rayburn heats water, kitchen and one radiator in our bathroom. Lots of snuggly blankets on sofa. We do have a couple of plug in radiators but avoid until really necessary due to cost.
Terraced house in a UK city.

katiethekittenfreddythefrog · 26/11/2017 10:11

20, all the time! I have a good excuse though DD wakes at night if she gets chilly and that temp is perfect for her. I do have my radiator turned down low in our bedroom though (and only on 1/2 power in DS's room) and I have a 4 tog summer duvet all year round. I can't bear being too hot at night and DH is like a human radiator anyway!

AlpacaPicnic · 26/11/2017 10:22

My heating is broken. So my house is currently 13.
I'm wearing pyjamas, fleecy slippers, a blanket and at least one cat.
Only my forearms are chilly.

Might put something in the tumble dryer later, that helped get it up to 16 last week!

Jessikita · 26/11/2017 10:27

Brrrrrrr I can’t believe some of you have it you have it as low as 17/18 I’d be freezing!

Mine sits at 20.5 and I put it up to 21/22 on particularly cold days. I have it set to 18 overnight and for the times we’re not there.

Ghodavies · 26/11/2017 10:49

18 with windows open 🙈

CruCru · 26/11/2017 10:49

I have it at about 19C. I thought it was a bit of a false economy to have it lower as the damp rots all the window frames.

DotDashBeep · 26/11/2017 10:50

My kitchen is currently 13.

daisypond · 26/11/2017 11:03

We don't put the heating on during the day or at night. It goes on at maybe 6-8pm, or earlier if we're at home during the day. Temp is set to about 18. Central heating seems to bring me out in eczema, so that's one reason. Mind you, it's freezing in the kitchen now - got no idea what temperature it is. I might go looking for a thermometer.

Firesuit · 26/11/2017 11:30

You should probably all invest in a thermometer to help settle any arguments. I don't think most thermostats give you an accurate idea of temperature. Our is set at 18, but the temperature is 22 according the thermometer.

The digital thermometer also gives humidity, so I know when I have to open the windows for a short space of time to get that down.

21 to 22 is officially the optimum temperature range. It's what office heating/air conditioning will be set to.

ClashCityRocker · 26/11/2017 11:41

Our thermostat says it's currently 24 degrees.

It really really isn't.

I don't think ours is particularly accurate. We usually have it set to 23 degrees.

malika54 · 26/11/2017 11:43
  1. We are both used to warmer climates Blush
KellyBarclay · 26/11/2017 11:45

Can never afford to put the heating on.

Ours is set to 17. I get too hot very easily and I prefer a cooler house. If we get cold we put on a long sleeve top

Hippadippadation · 26/11/2017 12:31

I'd have it at 30 if I could, but I know IABU as I feel the cold. DH would have it at about 18, but we compromise at 21ish. I do turn it up if he's away though!

aspoonfulofyourownmedicine · 26/11/2017 12:50

Warmer the better for me. My DH is the opposite. Mind we have come in and it's a bit nippy in here, DH commented that even the floor was cold! I normally win though as cold triggers pain for me.

SheilaTurnip · 26/11/2017 12:53

I've got hive and it has been on all morning.
Tells me I am in 24 degree heat.

BumWad · 26/11/2017 12:55

20 here

Biker47 · 26/11/2017 13:01

My heating is just on the maximum which is high 20's, but it's only on for an hour each morning and night.

Ollivander84 · 26/11/2017 13:06
  1. Wear a jumper and have a blanket over me as well
