To think that if I was Serena Williams, I'd be a bit disappointed in my wedding photos?

From the description, it's clear she went all out, which is fair enough when you've earned millions through your own hard work. And it all sounds incredible, but the pictures in Vogue don't really do it justice, in my opinion. I've seen much cheaper weddings look better (just in terms of framing and how you take the shot etc). Unless she kept all the best pictures private? Or she had multiple photographers and this is just one view?

FlowerPot your post did anything but move the discussion forward. Attacking another poster's grammar is low.

TheDobbyClub · 21/11/2017 14:28

Everyone looks really happy and glowyt in the photos, so that's the most important thing and therefore the wedding was presumably a big success.

I agree that the group shots in front of the backdrop that didn't extend to the sides of the photo, showing scaffolding behind, were shoddily done considering the calibre of photographer she must have been able to employ!

Also in the photo linked above the angles and effect of sitting some of the women down on that kind of low seat was not very flattering to my eye. I'd have got them all to turn at an angle.

I love the lace detail on some of the (bridesmaid? guest?) dresses in that photo though, and the overall look of the dresses together. The sparkly trainers for the reception were great too.

Why can you raisinsarenottheonlyfruit form an opinion about something you see and express a preference:

9-nov
I don't hate it but her coat looks a bit ... safe.
The main clothes are fine. But the coat doesn't look very Dr-Whoy to me.
I'd prefer a darker look.

But we are not? Confused

AngelaTwerkel · 21/11/2017 14:31

I can't see that post, FlowerPot. Hmm

CousinQuandry · 21/11/2017 14:32

I agree with you op. Some of those photos are shockingly poor.

Acrosstheuniverse123 · 21/11/2017 14:32

Everyone's breasts seem to be spilling out of their dresses. I think it all looks a bit naff really. The main thing is that they are happy though.

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 21/11/2017 14:32

Angela that's because FlowerPot has been sneaking around people's previous posts and now she's quoting them.

Very, very rude and not on at all.

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 14:32

CheapSausagesAndSpam
FlowerPot you seem quite able, so I wonder why you'd pretend not to understand what Raisins post was about.

Wonder away. I am very able, and I'm not pretending, otherwise I would have replied addressing points made to me (as I do). So how about you consider the other option, the one I am telling you, the most probable one, but not the one you like to choose to believe, which is I am telling the truth that I could not make head nor tail of that other post. Simple.

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 21/11/2017 14:34

FlowerPot and have you been poking about through people's previous posts?

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 14:34

AngelaTwerkel
I can't see that post, FlowerPot.

I can't help that you can't find it. Hmm And by the way, I have not said nor inferred anything about raisin's grammar. I could not follow her line of argument, nor establish what point she is making. That is largely nothing to do with grammar, but is about constructing and expressing an argument.

Hadenoughoftumble · 21/11/2017 14:36

And look at Beyoncé! That dress was trying so hard to be centre of attention at someone else's wedding! Not good

I didn’t get that impression at all! I thought her dress was lovely- wearing white would have put her on shaky ground though. She’s Beyoncé, if she’d have put on a shapeless sack she’d have still been the centre of attention.

Threads like this always expose what people were like at school. The bitches who think it’s ok and actually enjoy picking apart someone’s appearance.

And everyone who says ‘they sold their pictures so should expect to have negative comments’, I go out in public everyday so is it fair game to have anyone tell me my boobs look awful?!

FreeSpiritsBadAttitude · 21/11/2017 14:36

FlowerPot your posts are also pretty incomprehensible. You could do with shorter sentences and cutting out some of those unnecessary clauses. You've also called another woman tacky or awful and posted comments made on another thread. Very poor form all around.

Flumplet · 21/11/2017 14:37

Meh the photos are ok. That ball gown style dress though did not photograph well imho.

whiskyowl · 21/11/2017 14:37

I think she looks amazing but those photographs are naff in the extreme. I absolutely hate stagey stock wedding pictures, though - with a fiery passion. The best wedding pics I ever saw were taken by a war photographer.

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 14:38

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit I am familiar with all of those concepts thanks.

Are you familiar with the concept that human beings observe and hear things in life. And just as you comment about things that you have seen and heard, others do too. And that not every single assimilation of something we see will result in perpetual positivity, that sometimes we don't like things we see. Just as you didn't like the coat in your comment. And are you familiar with the concept that we are allowed to express our opinions and say "that dress looks awful" just as much as we are allowed to say "that dress looks great". And are you also familiar with the fact that you are not the world's thought police?

SheffieldStealer · 21/11/2017 14:39

She looked happy, she clearly had a dress she wanted to twirl in all day, her husband looks like he adores her. Good for them. The only thing that made me go Hmm were the wedding favours in the shape of her trophies. There's just something a bit... Alan Partridge about it. But even that's kind of endearing.

BrioAmio · 21/11/2017 14:40

Did her tits not got to the dress fitting? That looks almost painful!

fuzzywuzzy · 21/11/2017 14:41

I think it all looks lovely, she and her husband look so happy and their baby is utterly beautiful.

If it’s the wedding they wanted, why not.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 21/11/2017 14:41

Come on, it's a bit sanctimonious to get so offended about random people criticising some wedding photos published in Vogue.
Everyone can have an opinion on what people are wearing or the standard of the photography.

Stop pretending butter wouldn't melt in your mouth. Grin

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 14:41

FreeSpiritsBadAttitude

FlowerPot.. You've also called another woman tacky or awful and posted comments made on another thread

Could you provide evidence where I have called a woman tacky on another thread (or even here)?

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 21/11/2017 14:43

FlowerPot you're just waffling now.

FreeSpiritsBadAttitude · 21/11/2017 14:44

OK, you said her hair and dress looked awful and the catwalk was tacky. Totally exonerated then. Hmm

SheffieldStealer · 21/11/2017 14:46

Although the captions from the Vogue website are actually better without the photos. 'Desserts dropped down from the ceiling during the afterparty' - come ON! Who doesn't love THAT wedding already?!

Also classic, after many slinky photos of female guests, six wine bottles captioned, 'Venus helped to choose the wine'.

Pomegranatepompom · 21/11/2017 14:49

They look very happy.

SilverySurfer · 21/11/2017 14:55

There must have been a hell of a jelly wobble from all the extra boob flesh pushed up and over the top of that dress when she walked down the catwalk aisle. Lots of money, very little class.
