"Armpit fat" isn't normal over bra?

Just been to Bravissimo for a long overdue bra fitting and buying session. They don't measure you, just bring out bras to try based on whatever you went in wearing ( in my case a long past its best 36B from Debenhams). She decided I was a 34dd.
Every bra brought to me gave me varying degrees of fat, including double fat with its own cleavage, above the sides, in front of my arm pits. The fitter just said "yeah, some people get that, you just have to choose the best".
So I left with nothing, except embarrassment, and annoyance that I'll have to find somewhere else to put myself through it again.
I'm a size 10-12, and whilst not skinny not so large that I should be accepting armpit boobs above my bra surely??
Any advice anybody? Please? Dreading going anywhere else now.

*Feel, not fill !!

This might not be a popular opinion but back fat is back fat. It's not caused by the bra, it's caused by the...erm...fat on the back!

It's well acknowledged here. If you have fat on your back, it won't disappear. If you need to support your breasts, then you need a fairly tight band, which will dig a bit in, but it should stay on the lower part of the ribs, rather than push all the fat up, which is what a poorly fitted band will do.
A bra with a wide band may help creater a smoother surface and give more support. Something like this: www.desertcart.ae/products/4594903-carnival-womens-full-figured-wide-strap-longline-bra-blush-42d

Or like those in good strapless bras, which usually come with straps anyway. (www.brastop.com/freya-deco-strapless-bra-black-3)

Jeez that's the ugliest piece of underwear I have ever seen.

MsHarry · 26/11/2017 18:02

Yes but it's not creating back fat it's just squatting it out. To be fair, a bra's job is to support the breasts, not slim the silhouette.

I think you've missed my point justwondering, I'm well aware of how bras should fit but my point was that lifting the breasts has an impact on the back fat because the two are related. Yes the support is around your ribcage but a bra which lifts them well and can keep them up - so one with a snug band - reduces the appearance of the back fat more than a too loose one does in many cases

JustWonderingZ · 26/11/2017 23:38

Statistically, I missed your point entirely :)

The way I see it no bra is going to magic the back fat away if it is there, but an ill fitting bra can give you a shoulder and neck ache apart from making your best assets look rubbish. I definitely can tell the difference with how my breasts look now with the right size bra to how saggy/mis-shapen they used to look with too wide a band. The wonders this does to your confidence!

You should feel the band, but you shouldn’t feel the cup underwires digging in or shoulder straps cutting into your shoulders

I'd rather err on the slightly loose and saggy side. I've tried on bras which make my breasts look higher and firmer and are "the right size" but ultimately I just feel more comfortable in a looser bra.

berli you do adjust. Mine felt too tight at first, now I can;t feel it. It's just what your'e used to. Like a new pair of shoes.

Hate my bingo wings😟Any suggestions to reduce them please? Looked into armlift but it looks horrific ! Going to a beach wedding in the summer and would love to feel good in strapping top.

*strappy!

Bingo wings - do tricep dips on stairs. Start with 3x5 (with a rest between each 5) and build to about 20 or more.
