Posting here for traffic because I'm shameless

Just wondering what unusual/disgusting food combinations people like? Either day to day, or to cure a hangover. I had a friend who liked sugar sandwiches (bread, butter and sugar Envy )

I'll start with mine, which is Mega Noodles from Farm Foods (I'm that specific) mixed in with baked beans and mayo. Go...

Sugar sandwiches are the food of gods!

I knew a lad who ate pilchard-in-tomato-sauce-with-lemon-curd sandwiches. He reckoned stall went down the same way and saved time on a morning not having to do a sandwich for "dinner" and a separate sandwich for "pudding". He ate the same food every lunchtime.

He was a pleasant but strange little chap. One of these people with a brain the size of a small planet, but in practical terms he could barely cross a road on his own. Lecturer in marine biology.

Cheese and salad cream on white Warbies. Or if I can juggle it - with added warm baked beans, mayo and some sort of chilli sauce piled on top. It goes EVERYWHERE. I really need a bib.

ALemonyPea · 13/11/2017 17:33

Heinz used to do baked bean pizzas. I’d have one of those with blue cheese crumbled over then cooked. Delightful!

Strong cheddar and peanut butter sandwiches are lovely.

Talith · 13/11/2017 17:38

To be honest if they're struggling to get you (and I expect EVERYONE) to pay for a bit of routine maintenance they're not going to have a pot of money to in any way prevent your access. What would that even look like? A barrier? Depends how long you plan to be in that house. If a few years then fuck it (deeds permitting - you really do need to check you haven't a legal obligation) - if you see yourself there for longer it will pay you to have a conversation with them.

Just keep in mind that a barrier or bollards might pop up and then that might be a problem.

Talith · 13/11/2017 17:38

Wrong thread!!! Oh the shame!

Rebeccaslicker · 13/11/2017 17:43

PeapodBurgundy · 13/11/2017 17:43

Cheese and Onion Crisps (walkers, no others will do!) eaten simultaneously with chocolate (usually Mars Bar!) pop a few crisps in mouth followed by a nibble of mars bar. Weird but very satisfying.

Be3Al2Si6O18 · 13/11/2017 17:48

Cold runner bean and mayonnaise in granary bread. Runner beans have to be blanched with a bit of crispiness to them.

JustDanceAddict · 13/11/2017 17:49

I used to like crisps and cheddar together as a kid. Put the cubes of cheese into the packet!!

Eolian · 13/11/2017 17:52

Greek yoghurt with honey, berries or grated apple and peanut butter stirred in. I know it's not that weird, but some people are very Confused at the idea of peanut butter in yoghurt.

ArseholesOnToast · 13/11/2017 17:55

I like chip shop fish and chips with gravy. Apparently that's Very Wrong.

I'm also partial to cold rice pudding out of the tin.

I got a taste for eating frozen waffles that were still frozen when my wisdom teeth were coming through as a teenager. They were nice and cold on my gum! I still like eating still frozen waffles, chips, sweet potato fries, croquettes, etc.

MattBerrysHair · 13/11/2017 17:56

Ds1 likes baked beans and tuna on jacket potatoes, and Ds2 likes ham and peanut butter sandwiches Envy not envy......

Tuna fish and banana sandwich

Baked beans sausage mash potatoes and gravy

Mayonnaise and shortbread

Fries dipped in milkshakes

None of these are due to pregnancy 😛

Angelicinnocent · 13/11/2017 18:13

Think pigs in blankets but swap the sausage for chunks of banana.

Katedotness1963 · 13/11/2017 18:14

I thought every kid grew up on sugar sandwiches. Having said that, I recently made my 16/17 year olds a banana sandwich for an after school snack and they swore blind they'd never tasted such a thing before...

I watched Nigella cooking on TV years ago and she made Yorkshires with syrup? Not something I'd ever heard of, or tried since.

Sunday evening. Grab a cold Yorkshire, put some leftover beef in it, spot of mustard, top with a cold, leftover spud. Eat at the kitchen counter. Leave kitchen pretending you were just looking.
