Long and boring- sorry.

We've been on the council list for a while now. Yesterday, we were offered a place. It's PERFECT.

The officer than came back to check ours. That's when we came back down to earth with a bump...

She's told us that, as the place is ready now, we may not be able to do the work in time (I asked for a week). That's painting the place magnolia, and a deep clean (we have cats).

She's going back to the office on Monday, and it would put us in good stead, I think, to be able to tell her that we've already painted, nd the deep clean is booked (it is- first thing I did)

Give me hope, please? I spent last night sobbing my heart out (unlike me- I'm one tough mf).

On a side note, we feel we should have been told what was expected of us BEFORE we viewed...we could have done it way before now!

It's mainly just me and DH. My DB will give us a few hours this afternoon, and I've had tentative offers of help from a friend- but she has so much on that I wouldn't be surprised if she cried off. (She's lovely- she's just going through a berevement)

I can see the hall being an issue, it's Noddy Hat Blue!

Please give me hope? I'm going to make a start now before the DC wake up, and I have to start working around them!

Wow2806 · 07/11/2017 22:15

I was selling my house had EA in on the Saturday am
On the weds teatime decided it needed a spruce for pics
With me and my lad 16 and his 2 mates we managed to paint 3 main areas living room kitchen and master bed and deep clean and 15 years of declutter from Attic to gardens
It looked like a new pin on the Saturday morning.. Dday photographer from EA arriving
You can make it look good

Wow2806 · 07/11/2017 22:17

BTW the 1st viewers bought it
So it worked
Good luck
Get them marigolds on Grin

Clutterbugsmum · 07/11/2017 22:33

If I start getting paranoid about it between now and tomorrow, I'll be putting a small amount of Jeyse Fluid down, and shitting the door. well that's one way of getting rid of the cat smell Grin.

Hope you rest your leg, and you get the move you want.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/11/2017 23:01

Good luck Radley, rooting for you.

Refreshed after a painkiller-induced passing out forced sleep.

I accidentally shut the balcony door last night, blocking access to the litter trays. Dumbledore decided she would christen the newly cleaned floor instead!

So, just in case, the hall is now inaccessible to the cats, and the JF has gone down.

I just got up for a wee, smelled the cupboard, and...it smelled like a hospital- BUT NO CAT PEE!!!!

After 7 hours!!

Finally I feel like I've really "completed it".

When I was doing my GCSE coursework, I had a lot going on (kicked out of yet another foster home, deep in the grips of anorexia, a suicide attempt, just to give you some idea) I left ALL of my courseworm till the last minute.

I finished one piece literally FIVE MINUTES before it needed banding in.

I got an A*.

How I'm feeling right now- after getting something done in the nick of time, is exactly the same as how I was then!

I'll probably keep posting bits of randomness today just to keep me sane until 3pm 😅

Crossing my fingers for you OP. Well done on your hard work.

Afreshstartplease · 08/11/2017 06:27

Well done op!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/11/2017 06:33

Reassure me, please...the JF smell is fine, right? At least it proves we've cleaned...

If all had gone according to the plan in my head (move, THEN deep clean) I probably sould have used JF all through anyway. The floors are concrete, and the cats would have been out by then.

When the surface is dry, scatter a whole tub of bicarbonate of soda on it and leave it as long as possible before hoovering or sweeping it up. It'll absorb the smell.
Fingers crossed for you today.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/11/2017 06:47

It's dry- it was put down hours ago.

I wouldn't say it was unpleasant though...just strong!

CanIBuffalo · 08/11/2017 06:51

It's a marmite smell though. I love it because it reminds me of my dad but some people really hate it.
Bit late now but the best cat pee smell fix I ever used was a wash down with Zoflora then a spray over with surgical spirit. It was recommended by a vet.
Mind you, I loathe the smell of Zoflora now Grin
I'm sure it'll be fine. As you say - JF is a clean smell.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/11/2017 06:55

That's what I meant - it has to be preferable to cat pee. 😅

CanIBuffalo · 08/11/2017 06:58

Almost anything's preferable to cat pee Grin

IrritatedUser1960 · 08/11/2017 07:01

I think you will need some help, call in family, anyone. But if not I've done similar things in a short time on my own......tearing my hair out. You will have to work into the night to get it done.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/11/2017 07:03

Irritated we worked until well into both nights.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/11/2017 07:36
