To ask about pubic hair removal?

I’m quite new here not sure where to post this so feel free to move the post.

I just wonder if you remove your pink hair how do you do it? Shaving is making me so sore and itchy, hair removal cream doesn’t seem to work too well, Home waxing kit was pointless and pretty much just took my skin off (ouch!)

Is a proper wax the only way?

Any tips or tricks?

Thank Smile

I think chemotherapy was the most effective hair loss treatment, but I don't recommend it.

For all this it's easier and cleaner stuff ( which I do think you have a point) women are quite happy to suffer glued on nails and eyelashes, painful points and heels, going hungry etc etc etc

God no. Never had false nails/eyelashes in my life. Don't get my eyebrows done. To be honest I'm not bothered about shaving legs/underarms really Grin. I've been swimming/rugby training etc etc all with hairy legs. Just no pubic hair

I don't personally wear heels very often or have stick on nails, the beauty treatments I have aren't something to suffer, they're exactly that - a treat. I love getting my nails and hair done, brows and lashes tinted is neither enjoyable nor un enjoyable but I completely adore the results. Waxing for me wasn't painful but I didn't see it as an aesthetic treatment - the results were about sensation. I just don't like the feel of hair down there - and I do find the feeling of hair getting all gunked up with vaginal secretions really grim personally.

Legs waxing is both aesthetic and sensation - although now I have pretty much zero hair left on my legs after years of waxing, so I can be happily smooth with zero effort!

I don't pretend my decision to remove my leg and armpit hair isn't influenced by society's view of what is aesthetically pleasing. But Brazilian waxing is all about the sensation - the only person who sees my labia apart from medical professionals is my DH, and he couldn't give a shit how it looks. I'm the one who enjoys the nice feeling of being smooth down there - it feels amazing!

Goshthatwentwell · 02/11/2017 22:40

Granted you " feel" more but plenty on here have said the sensation is chaffing as much as anything. And as with anything ...you get used to it.

I've had surgery to look better. I was pleased I'd had it but actually it changed nothing really. Partners and friends were still that - , exactly the same.I wasn't a better person.
Same with getting a Brazilian. The effects are as much in my head as they are in reality. I have long head hair because it's feminine and sexy, but I fully accept that short head hair may feel better against my head. Or not. Whose to say?

bananafish81 · 02/11/2017 22:43

@Goshthatwentwell totally agree. My rhinoplasty was 100% for me and made so so so much difference to my confidence because I felt so much better in my own skin.

At least you don't get crabs.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2017 10:35

Reckon I’m going to go back to hair and just keep it tidy.

Agatha

Adult pubic lice are 1.1-1.8 mm in length. Pubic lice typically are found attached to hair in the pubic area but sometimes are found on coarse hair elsewhere on the body (for example, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, mustache, chest, armpits, etc.).

From the link below.

Abused children can also get pubic lice.

I suspect there are other ways to avoid getting crabs. Hmm

@bananafish

I agree with this. As you say, and several others have said, sex with no (or little) pubic hair is more enjoyable, because you feel sensations that you don't feel when you have a full bush. My DH has never been bothered either way if I have shaved, (and I never did until about 2-3 years after we met.)

I did it because like many others on here, it made periods more bearable and made me feel more clean when I was on them. When we had sex a few days after my period ended, and I was still shaven, I couldn't believe how different (and more enjoyable!) the sex was! Shock

All I will say to the people who have never shaved (down there,) you don't know what you're missing, because sex is awesome, when you're shaven down there. Just try it! I dare you! I love my bush shaven, and so does DH! Grin (He shaves a bit down there too by the way, as he gets more intense sensations too when he is shaven.)

Also baffled at how people think it's so bad to shave down there, (like you're adhering to what society expects,) because it's no different to having your eyebrows plucked, or wearing make up, or having your hair done by a hairdresser. It's just grooming yourself really, so you feel good/more attractive. Why do some people have to make shaving your pubic hair, into something nasty or negative?

And as I said - to those who have never tried shaving down there - give it a go, because sex is definitely better and more enjoyable with that area shaven. Grin

lottieandmia22 · 03/11/2017 13:34

I totally agree that sex is better with no pubic hair.

BertrandRussell · 03/11/2017 13:38

Great! If sex is better for you with no pubic hair then go for it.

lottieandmia22 · 03/11/2017 13:46

It’s not about men either. I couldn’t care less what they think.

speakout · 03/11/2017 14:02

I can't say I have noticed any difference in sexual enjoyment with or without pubic hair.

cherrycola2004 · 03/11/2017 14:41

@SchadenfreudePersonified thanks Grin

I was the first person my dp had been with “shaven.” He said to me a while back it certainly tastes fresher. I don’t think he would have minded if I had a full bush but now he’s experienced seeing a “landing strip” I think he finds it a massive turn on. He trims his now (of his own accord) and likes it.

He also said I’m the first he’s not seen pubic hairs around the asshole area/the area between the vagina and the bottom. I would presume people who don’t shave/wax at all have hairs all around that area which would be very off putting.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2017 18:28

hairs all around that area which would be very off putting.

Obviously for thousands of years, men have just been gritting their teeth and "thinking of England"

JustCurious11 · 03/11/2017 18:38

Well yes because sex is very different nowadays to how it has been throughout history. Men used to just climb on top their wife, have their way and that would be that. Nowadays men are more interested in pleasuring their partner unlike throughout history and both men and women are more conscious about looking attractive for their partner. I don’t suppose Henry VIII cared of Ann Boleyn has a hairy asshole but nowadays we are more aware of vanity.

Silvercatowner · 03/11/2017 19:05

*Oldster feminist 'enjoys hairy sex' snort

JustCurious11 · 03/11/2017 19:12

Times have just changed. Even 50 years ago you used to see 50 year old women who looked about 70 - grey hair, middle age spread, old fashion dress sense. Women looked like that for centuries at that age.

Nowadays 50 year old women dye their hair a nice colour, take care of their figure, take care of their skin, wear flattering trendy clothes. They look amazing!

Just because women did something for thousands of years doesn’t mean it was attractive or appealing.

I think it’s a positive thing that woman want to take care of themselves and groom in whatever way they please. Men do it too, in fact men are more vain than ever!

It’s all part of evolution.

BertrandRussell · 03/11/2017 19:29

"Well yes because sex is very different nowadays to how it has been throughout history. Men used to just climb on top their wife, have their way and that would be that"
Yep. It was exactly like that.

Incidentally, I wonder when the Kama Sutra was written? Or the Song of Solomon?
