To ask about pubic hair removal?

I’m quite new here not sure where to post this so feel free to move the post.

I just wonder if you remove your pink hair how do you do it? Shaving is making me so sore and itchy, hair removal cream doesn’t seem to work too well, Home waxing kit was pointless and pretty much just took my skin off (ouch!)

Is a proper wax the only way?

Any tips or tricks?

Thank Smile

For people who laser...what sort do you have? How much does it cost? I've read some treatments seem better than others.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 31/10/2017 17:20

Ecclesiastes, No it isn't because it's nobody else's business and nobody else even knows.

OP - Waxing. Great result every time.

speakout · 31/10/2017 17:21

I love my locks.

So does OH.

foodiefil · 31/10/2017 17:38

Wax. Hurts but if it's done regularly the pain lessons. You can also get this stuff that's to numb the skin for getting a tattoo. That sort of works.

I wax because I hate myself

(Jokes)

Lessens*

Goshthatwentwell · 31/10/2017 17:39

Get someone else to wax it.
I was always a bit anti the whole thing. Didn't like the plucked chicken look or the ideals behind it.
However got fed up of shaving in a tiny shower on holiday and decided to have it done for my next one.
Amazing. I know she's removed all the hair. Didn't have to think about for an entire week, no bits of loo paper caught anywhere and no irritation from shaving.

Fluffyears · 31/10/2017 17:39

It’s there for a reason though so I keep mine. Keeps it warm in the winter 😜

BriechonCheese · 31/10/2017 18:10

Oh aye.

teaandcakeat8 · 31/10/2017 18:14

I shave mostly and use a bikini trimmer on the awkward bits (how do you get the razor in all the nooks and crannies?!).

However just got a new dp who has requested that I grow it back!

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 31/10/2017 18:15

tasering seems a little drastic and also unlikely to achieve the objective.
I used to use a beard trimmer until one day I got a nasty painful swelling on my pubic mound. DM (a gp) said the trimmer was prob pulling hairs out and irritating the hair follicles opening the way to infection. Her advice was “leave it bloody alone”, advice I was delighted to follow.

cherrycola2004 · 31/10/2017 18:16

All replies welcome weird is fine. Think I’m gonna try a salon for a proper wax and if it’s too sore then yeah I’ll just grow it back. Smile

Keep it.

Saves on dental floss.

19lottie82 · 31/10/2017 18:23

I have a “feminine trimmer” and trim it really short, 3 or 5mm. Definitely a lot less hassle than getting it completely off, which I think feels a bit odd anyway!

I got the trimmer from Amazon it was about £25 I think and a better investment than the very ones you can buy in boots for £12 or so. And oh can use it in the shower.

elQuintoConyo · 31/10/2017 18:25

I am a yeti. To prevent frightening the horses when i swim, i tidy up the sides with a laser machine (Lumea type thing). Same with legs.

Even shaving in the direction the hairs grow gives me terrible ingrown hairs and rashes and OMFG the fucking itchiness Angry Veet is shit (for me) and waxing is truly awful.

Having said that, between October 31st and March 30th, i don't shave anything as nothing is on show.

I haven't asked my DH his opinion on my foliage and we've been together 20 years. Every now and then he grows a beard for a month or so then shaves it all off. I couldn't care less if i sit on his face during January you can't see where he ends and i begin Grin

jerrysbellyhangslikejelly · 31/10/2017 18:27

A professional wax is best in my view. It doesn't hurt as much as I expected, it was more the indignity of it that put me off! But you get used to it very quickly and once you go regularly it gets much easier. I get mine done every 4-5 weeks and can now get a full hollywood and eyebrow tint and wax over and done with in 20 minutes and it's so worth it! At the beginning I was getting terrible ingrown hairs but I changed to a different therapist and she also recommended a shower gel and haven't had one since. Also, only go for hot waxing, strip waxing is no no down there, Lycon is the best I've found.

Bodear · 31/10/2017 18:28

Hey OP I use an epilator on mine at home. I do it once a week and it takes about 15mins to do full hollywood and upper legs (but takes much longer if I’ve missed a couple of weeks). It’s not too painful provided you keep on top of it. It’s taking hair out by the root so lasts like a wax but as there’s no heat involved I seem to get fewer Ingrowing hairs. Plus, after the outlay for the epilator itself it’s free and you don’t need an appointment.

Ecclesiastes · 31/10/2017 18:32

The tide is definitely turning. The wax-and-polish brigade are fighting a rearguard action against common sense. Give it another 18 months and eBay will be heaving with BNWT feminine trimmers and home waxing kits.

Laser. Worth every penny. Wish I had it done years ago and didn’t have to go through the ingrown hairs nightmare due to waxing/epilator. I will be happy to fund this for my DD should she wish to have it done, save herself years of trouble.

P.S. no, I don’t like the look or feel of the ‘natural’ state. Even when I had no sexual partners for extended periods, I still liked to have it hairless. Even if my partner said he preferred the full bush, I would have kept it how I like it, thanks.

bananafish81 · 31/10/2017 18:48

Used to wax - agree with PP, Lycon hot wax the only way

Several years of Brazilians meant hardly anything grew back and the waxer told me it was ridiculous to pay her to remove so little hair

So I bought a Lumea to laser it off at home

CheekyRedhead · 31/10/2017 18:53

I use an electric Razer or immac it all off, I hate hair, when I do try au natural I find the hair annoying, I can tell the hairs there in underwear. Sorry to the shaved off haters, I like it.

theredjellybean · 31/10/2017 18:54

Waxing.. Regular appointments, keep it up, I go every 4 weeks and even after 8yrs get quite a lot of regrowth but some patches stay bald.
I'd love to laser it but could not cope with the shaving in between sessions... OMG the itch if I shave!!!!

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 31/10/2017 21:23

Ecclesiastes is not policing what you do with your body hair. She is saying (I paraphrase) that it is silly. This is allowed.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/10/2017 21:26

tasering seems a little drastic Well yes it does. I mean, incapacitating yourself with electric shocks is not for the faint of heart.

Allthewaves · 31/10/2017 21:58

Getting right salon wax. Iv had good and terrible. Best ones have you at all angles to keep skin tight. Sudocreme afterwards for couple of days. Then daily exfoliating with flannel and oil with tea tree to avoid ingrown hairs
