The doj’s actions are shocking but sadly reflect trump’s ideas about the rule of law.
I think we’re in a bit of a rock/hard place situation with sessions - on the one hand, he’s clearly lied under oath so many times that it’s gone beyond appropriate for him to occupy the role of attorney general but on the other hand, if he’s removed, trump would be able to appoint a new AG who isn’t recused from the Russia investigation and who can disrupt it more effectively.
Of course, like the twitter account furore, the main issue is trump’s behaviour (if obama’s account had been hijacked and someone tweeted about starting war with North Korea, it would have been serious but not plausible as a threat - it’s the fact that trump uses twitter so inappropriately that’s the problem). If trump and his team hadn’t been working with the Russians to subvert democracy, his AG wouldn’t have been in the position to be lying under oath nor would there be a special counsel investigation to interefere with.
