The ever filtered Facebook and Instagram summaries of this weekend have make me wonder if we’re a bunch of lazy nuggets. Apart from some shopping and numerous dog walks, we’ve done pretty much nothing of note. I’d love to read some real reflections of family weekend life....

Reality bites.
Worked yesterday (6 days a week just now), driving lesson after that, then wine night at my friends. Didnt see DS much, DH had him and DSD.
Pooped.
Had a wee lie in this morn, skyped my mum in Oz, fell out with DH as he is enabling his manipulative shrew of an ex. Dog walk. Grand Prix.

No shiny fb posts as I can't be arsed.
Also did some angry cleaning-hoovered under sofa-it was disgusting.

Finished an 8 year relationship. We used WhatsApp to relay the details however had talked about it many times. Have children together.

Visited my mother who lost her husband this year. She’s stoic and coping well.

Took my nieces to the theatre and ate sweets.

Went to a Scottish ceileidh and danced reels with old friends and new.

Back to home now to see Ex and take over the children while he goes out possibly seeing someone. I’m not sure. Arrive home in an hour.

NameChangeFamousFolk · 29/10/2017 22:32

p.s. I'm not even on FB so it means nowt to me what other people do!

Summerswallow · 29/10/2017 22:34

Sat: gave birth Sun: fed baby and ate carbs

That's got to be coolest weekend ever.

I have to have one lazy day a weekend, where I don't get the whole make-up/clothes palava on, and try to clear the house to stop it totally sinking into a hell hole. Have a nap as well. Sets me up for the week.

I do work a bit one weekend day/run round after kids/do activities.

I try not to end the weekend tireder than I started. Whole working week in front of me.

Interspersed with reading when I get time to pick up a book/play an audiobook.

Summerisdone · 29/10/2017 22:40

Oh I forgot to add to mine that between all the arguing with toddler DS over bedtime, I did manage to finish Stranger Things 2 after starting it on Friday... how could I have forgotten that as it was the most exciting part of my weekend Grin

Argeles · 29/10/2017 22:42

Saturday:

DH went for a run whilst I washed up, made and ate breakfast with my DD. Read books to, and played with DD.
Ordered food from Tesco.
Got ready to go out.
Clothes washing.
Cooked a Spanish omelette.
Met my friend in Central London for a rare Saturday night dinner - time to just be myself is just what I needed, so this was a lovely treat!
DH was in an unusual talkative mood when I came home, so listened to him for ages, and only got 30 minutes of uni work done before I fell asleep and woke at 4am on the sofa!

Sunday:

DH went for a run whilst I got DD and I ready.
Took in Tesco food delivery.
DH drove us to Central London for our haircuts.
We went to Waitrose to buy a few things.
DH cooked dinner (a very rare treat!).
I made DD a dress for Halloween.
Clothes washing, folding of washing, washing up, load dishwasher, clean cooker and surfaces.
Made 2 days of lunches for DH.
Tidied sitting room.
30 minutes of work for uni.

Yest: got up late then watched Happy Feet with toddler. We took dog in garden to do training/hide and seek while other dog sniffed around (one has a limp, the other is very old so walks are every other day at moment and garden is half acre so they're ok). Played 'wake the bear up in his cave so he chases you' with toddler. Did laundry. Elderly neighbour turned up and had a coffee. Tidied living room. Did cutting out with toddler. Bed for her. Watched TV. Bed for me.
Today, DM and then DXP took toddler while I spent FIVE hours filling out my teacher training application and refining the blasted personal statement down by 500 characters. Tidied living room. Did laundry. DM also walked dogs.

Carouselfish · 29/10/2017 23:02

Paradise Flowers well done on the getting on with normal things.

SleepingBooty · 29/10/2017 23:03

We are generally very lazy at the weekends. It's our downtime. DH goes on his pc, I watch a bit of TV, the kids play.
Sometimes we have a day out but we're pretty happy mooching about the house.

ReggaetonLente · 29/10/2017 23:06

Thank you Jasmine Smile

Peanutbuttercheese · 29/10/2017 23:09

Watched few hours tv with DH and DS
Lunch with a friend
Ate two chunky kit kats
Fell asleep as DH watched MOTD
Forced DS to hoover downstairs of house
Put away loads laundry
Did big food shop with DH
DH sorted through mail

Best bit he rubbed my feet for ages
Stuck to my principles within a friendship group.

Fresta · 29/10/2017 23:16

Saturday morning was up at about 8.30. DH made breakfast and then we got dressed. Quick stop at a dance shop to buy new ballet shoes for dd before dropping her at her lesson at 11am (argument in car about new shoes not being right etc.) Cleaned bathroom while DH painted a wall in bedroom and then picked dd up and then back home for lunch. Showers and ready to meet some friends for a drink (cue more arguments about outfits). After 2 drinks with friends it was home for tea (which dd made) while I supervised and DH helped me finish cleaning rest of house, followed by Strictly and Factor and then bed.

Today we got up at about 8ish, breakfast and a bit of lounging. Then DD and I went for a swim, DH went for a run and then we were all home for lunch. After lunch I went visit my parents for a couple of hours, then to Costco to buy sweets for the school disco and home to cook dinner. After dinner dd and I watched x factor and DH spent the evening doing stuff upstairs in his study. Then more crap TV with DH and drank some red wine and G&Ts and now off to bed.

neverhadanymarblestolose · 29/10/2017 23:23

Friday evening was a village Halloween disco.
Saturday was eldest to ballet, two children's birthday parties and a food shop.
Sunday was at pumpkin patch, lunch out, theatre and then pumpkin carving.

5foot5 · 29/10/2017 23:25

Today we went for a walk over Stannage and had tea out.

notacooldad Oh was that Stannage Edge? Love that

citychick · 29/10/2017 23:25

Saturday - took DS to cricket, had lunch, massive 4 hour walk.
Sunday - took DS to rugby. Visited local car show, then food, then home.

Only difference was that I didn't work this Saturday morning as was public holiday. We are not in UK.
Weather is gorgeous at the moment.

5foot5 · 29/10/2017 23:27

Anyone who didn't spend one day this weekend binge watching the whole of Stranger Things 2 is being unreasonable in my opinion.

Sorry Colonel only managed two episodes so far

StrumpersPlunkett · 29/10/2017 23:37

V lazy weekend here.
Have had weeks of madness so this weekend we had nothing at all planned.
Ds1 went to a 2 night sleepover with mates Friday first thing
Saturday morning Sainsbury's delivered at 9. We were all still in bed asleep
Slow get up
Popped to butchers
Lunch was followed by reading books and playing games
Dinner cooked by dh and ds2
Strictly then Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Junior)
Slow get up Sunday morning
Ds1 arrived home about 11am
Sorted 5 bags to charity shop
Lots of reading
Made 5 lots of pastry for ds1's food tech ( he made it I just had to be in the kitchen apparently)
Roast chicken dinner
Strictly
Blue planet
The last post
Chatted to dh after kids had gone to bed
Bed for me
Dh staying up

Exciting no. Very very needed though.

SabineUndine · 29/10/2017 23:41

Yesterday mooched about, did ironing and washing and went for a medical appointment then got pissed on gin. Today, lie in, went out for a pub lunch and to an art gallery, came home and cleaned the kitchen.

notacooldad · 29/10/2017 23:58

notacooldad Oh was that Stannage Edge? Love that
Yes it was and I don't know why I forgot to put 'Edge' on my sentence!

oldlaundbooth · 30/10/2017 01:14

Let's see.

DS was at his cousins all weekend so his weekend would have been instagram worthy. He's only four but still.

Me, DH and DD all had chesty coughs and colds so didn't do much. Sat morning I went to the mall with DD. Home for lunch. Leftover chilli and jacket spud. She napped for about an hour so I chilled. Went for a long walk as weather was lovely. Bed for her at 6, sushi takeout for DH and I. Twas very good. In fact probably instagram worthy.

Sunday morning was hooting with rain so I took DD to the mall again. Home again for lunch. Had leftover chicken casserole for lunch. Stayed indoors the afternoon as weather was awful. Watched Stranger Things whilst DD romped around the living room.

Made dinner, roast pork, veg, roast spuds. DH collected DS and brought him home. Had dinner, kids in bed, watched TV. Fairly typical really.

oldlaundbooth · 30/10/2017 01:17

*only on episode four of Strangest Things.

I do love the cop in it, he's so mid western and looks like he needs a good hot bath I'll jump in with him
