The ever filtered Facebook and Instagram summaries of this weekend have make me wonder if we’re a bunch of lazy nuggets. Apart from some shopping and numerous dog walks, we’ve done pretty much nothing of note. I’d love to read some real reflections of family weekend life....

Went food shopping Saturday morning, back home in time to take DS (3) to a Halloween party at the local pub. That finished by mid afternoon and then went to DM's for a cuppa and a chat whilst DS got to play in the back garden (he gets very excited as we don't have a garden).
Despite all the energy that DS would have burnt though the day, he still seemed to have plenty to carry him on through until 10.30pm when he finally gave up arguing with me and fighting over bed time.

Sunday DM picked DS and I up to go for a mooch around town and grab a few bits from Asda, then back to hers where we were all having Sunday Lunch, or at least that was the plan until DS threw up everywhere and obviously just wanted to go home to his bed then.
He has since woken up though, and being like most toddlers, he has bounced back just fine and here we are again, arguing over how it's way passed his bedtime and how he can't keep getting out of bed to play 'tag' with the dog, and how I really don't think the dog told him to play hide and seek Hmm

Friday afternoon we spent at Kenilworth Castle. The evening was spent with friends over for supper.

Saturday was spent at judo, football and swimming, then a quick drive over to a supermarket and home with new pyjamas.

Today has been football again, two parties for the DCs and now a quiet night of nothingness.

The DCs are still quite young (12 and 6) so our weekends tend to be filled with their activities. I'm looking forwards to doing nothing next weekend, though, as I've declared there's going to be a small strike.

wheresthel1ght · 29/10/2017 22:08

Dp was at work most of it.

Nothing massively eventful, took dsd shopping as she has grown AGAIN, walked our dogs and my parents T's ones as they were away and then carved pumpkins today.

Other than that it has been a carton and chill sort of weekend as dd is poorly

thecolonelbumminganugget · 29/10/2017 22:08

Anyone who didn't spend one day this weekend binge watching the whole of Stranger Things 2 is being unreasonable in my opinion.

We did that all day Saturday, then started Pandemic Legacy season 2 today. It's been an excellent weekend.

Yesterday DH and DS went for a haircut taking DD with them whilst I de-cluttered.

I worked an awkwardly timed shift today 11-6 whilst DH and the kids played computer games and watched movies.

Saturdays are usually chill out days for us doing whatever, sometimes that's at home and others it's a day out shopping or venture somewhere a bit more exciting.

I work every Sunday but normally an early or late shift so we tend to go swimming before/afterwards.

Saturday got up 5.30am to give ds his meds and take down his feed. Went back to bed for a couple more hours. Had hair cut in the afternoon for first time since February and in preparation for returning to work week after next after being off sick since January.

Today got up at 4.30am thanks to clock change to do ds meds and take down feed. Back to bed for few hours then cooked a lush roast lamb dinner. Caught up on xfactor then went round my sister's house to do her roots. Came home, watched a bit of corrie in the bath. Watched two episodes of stranger things downstairs with my girls then tonight's xfactor.

And that's it. Half term next week but busy for most of it.

Kids have SN and we spend Saturday keeping them apart so they don't wind each other up.

Yesterday, i went out with DS1 to play some pokemon go. He's also a bus enthusiast and the 2 hobbies tie in nicely. We took a long bus ride into a nearby city and grabbed a bit of lunch. Then thought bugger it, it's too windy for a walk and I'm sick of coughing, so took a long (90 minute) bus ride to a nearby town (after buying some wine for myself for the evening). Then took an equally long bus ride back into our home town. We did a lot of pokemoning from those two buses.

This morning, I pottered around doing bog all while DH sorted out all the consoles he'd fished out of the loft. We had a bit of lunch, did a bit of shopping and then I cut DS2's hair. Made a very instagram worthy veggie curry for our tea.

After tea, I made the most of my 20% sparks discount and ordered DS1 a ton of new jammies and socks.

Earache, cold, sore throat and a headache all while arguing with drunk people. But happy that my team were having fun

Ifearthecold · 29/10/2017 22:17

Saturday I had a training day. DH and DC did homework which seemed to take most of day, they watched film, I came home and drank wine.

Sunday when to country park, walked, ate, carved pumpkins and bought over priced tat for DC.

Came home sorted school uniforms. Realised that DH's shopping yesterday only covered yesterday so sitting on sofa trying to work out what to feed DC.

notacooldad · 29/10/2017 22:19

I hate being lazy at weekends!
On Saturday we went up to the Lake District and had a good 7 hours walking as we are doing the Wainwrights. On Saturday night we went to a gig in Manchester.

Today we went for a walk over Stannage and had tea out.
This evening had been quiet. DS1 is out with DP and DS2 is in the loft doing his assignment for college.

Friday night took kids out for dinner.
Saturday took DS to sports club and then spent the day with plumber, builder and cable guy coming round.
Saturday night went out with a friend - for dinner, a film and late night drinking.
Today lazed in bed then went to Brick Lane and markets with DD browsing and shopping.
Sunday night mooching with TV.

allegretto · 29/10/2017 22:27

I literally haven't set foot outside since Thursday.

TowerRingInferno · 29/10/2017 22:27

Dh away so I have been much lazier than normal (always feel I have to look busy when he’s around)

Sat - got up late, rang bells, coffee and papers, walked dogs, rang bells again, went to supermarket, ate buffet/party food with dcs in front of the tv watching a film

Sun - lie in with umpteen cups of coffee, walk with friend, long lunch, dog walk, back to school preparations, rang bells, lazy dinner of random leftovers, watched Netflix with ds1, caught up on admin/emails

Ohb0llocks · 29/10/2017 22:27

Sat: gave birth

Sun: fed baby and ate carbs.

calilark · 29/10/2017 22:27

Yesterday we had a bit of a clear out, 4 year old watched Octonauts for about 80% of the day. I made lasagne. Today, a quick visit to in-laws this morning then mooch around local NT place

Elllicam · 29/10/2017 22:28

Saturday - kids had dad and toddlers with DH in the morning followed by a Halloween party for kids we were throwing. Then another Halloween party in the evening. Sunday - toy shop, visits to both grannies, birthday party and theatre class.

Elllicam · 29/10/2017 22:28

Congratulations Obollocks :)

TeslasDeathRay · 29/10/2017 22:29

Saturday: Lazed around most of the day. Did some food shopping.
Found a dog running up and down the streets in the dark. Caught dog. Took dog in for the night as too late for vets/warden. Was up all night on the sofa watching the dog. (Dog was as good as gold, bless him. Apart from farting)

Sunday: Got dog back to his owner after much facebooking. Thought about getting a dog. Had a nap for a couple of hours. Probably going to catch up on Stranger Things for the rest of the evening.
