Nearly 10yr old DS still believes in Santa

DS is 10 in Jan and still totally believes in Father Christmas. I assume it might be the last one and he's still really sweet & innocent about it all.
But another parent said to me that it was ridiculous that he believes still and that her son had worked it out at age 7.
Aibu to be worried about it or just. E glad that he's still innocent and sweet!

My children believe because

  1. they don't see any presents (large family in a small house
  2. they don't believe I could afford all the stuff they get.

I buy them one present and the rest is from santa. Last year their gift was handmade as I couldn't afford anything else (because of paying for all the stuff from santa)

I believed till I was ten. I also went on to top set in grammar school. I do sort of agree, actually, with a pp who said it is linked to critical thinking later in life, because although I'm clever, I've always been fairly gullible. But then I do sometimes wonder if I have undiagnosed ASD.

@sharklovers is right on the money. Kids being berated for believing in Santa past a certain age but at least they can be forgiven for thinking he’s real; grown ups provide “evidence” in the form of presents from Santa, what evidence is anyone given from God? Nothing at all.
