To ask what to do with the cat?

There's been a cat yowling outside my front door for a good 10 minutes. It's pissing it down here and the poor thing is probably drenched. Am I okay to let it in until it stops raining/overnight? None of us have ever had a cat, we're not sure what to do with it.

My stray!! Still here 8 years later. Turned up a month after old cat was pts. She has chosen you for a reason!

Sometimes you go to pop stuff on the compost heap and get distracted

(she weighed around 4 pounds when I found her - too weak to walk)

Aw Cricket is lovely i hope you keep her. Could the vet tell if she'd been spayed?

Sll your cats are divine. Heres mine in their new bunk beds. The little one was rescued and i cant imagine her not being here.

Ta1kinPeece that's so sad. Hope she's doing well now.

Mine was 4 weeks old when I found her crossing the road in front of my car. She was a mess. My other one just turned up in the village one day, chose me and is still here 2 years later. That's the way my cats have come to me over the years, from the streets.

You will need to book her in to be spayed. It's impossible for a vet to know if they are already spayed (if they're not chipped) without actually doing the op. You can't risk not checking though.

She lived with us for ten months after that before her health issues caught up with her.

Just had a phone call from Cricket's owner. He's one of the local farmers and apparently she likes to sit in the tractor with him but if it site still for too long she likes to have a look around and she must have gotten lost on the way home. She's been missing for two weeks apparently, so I don't think I'm the only house she's stopped off at! He's coming to pick her up this evening. Smile

I'm sad to see her go but at least now DW can go back into the kitchen and we can finish getting our stuff ready for when we pick up our dog next week!

That’s good news op. Shame he hadn’t got her chipped.

londonrach · 19/10/2017 17:01

Good news op

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2017 17:02

At least he's found her. He needs to chip her though, her luck might not hold next time.

yawning801 · 19/10/2017 17:06

We need to find out Cricket's real name as well! No idea why, but I just want to know how close Cricket is to her real name! Cricket is adorable, and I second what Fluffy said about getting her chipped.

FleurDelacourr · 19/10/2017 17:16

Her real name is Molly so nothing like Cricket! He said he will get her chipped but whether he means it or not I don't know.

@FleurDelacourr
I hope he appreciates your kindness in looking after her

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/10/2017 17:56

Bur see Fleur despite all the Prophets of Doom you did the right (kind) thing and made a cat comfy and helped her get home.

fenneltea · 19/10/2017 18:05

Oh I'm so pleased for Cricket, but hope he gets ger chipped and spayed if she isn't already.

Just as well you took her in or chances are she'd still be wandering lost and hungry!
