I'm horrified. Anyone else seen the footage? I genuinely like James Corden, or at least I did when he did Gavin and Stacey. What on earth was he thinking?!

I’ve no love for Corden but can someone explain the Patrick Stewart thing?

The only thing I can think of is that awards show hoo-ha and imo Patrick Stewart completely misjudged the audience and it was total cringe on his part. Nowt classy about what he did that night.

MintyChops · 16/10/2017 08:26

Smug, unfunny twat. Always thought that, can't bear him. I've never understood how he has been so successful.

Papafran · 16/10/2017 09:03

The other thing that Rose McGowan pointed out is that James Corden is a close friend of Harvey Weinstein. Was he fuck trying to condemn HW- he was trying to belittle the feelings of the women and make it all into 'a laugh' and 'bantz' when it is nothing of the sort- this man is a serial rapist.

It's like that horrible little pedo Woody Allen sticking up for HW and saying that poor Hollywood men will be in trouble just for winking at a woman and now trying to backtrack. Well for WA, he allegedly molested his 7 year old stepdaughter and then slept with his other stepdaughter who was a teenager at the time and 35 years his junior (and had learning difficulties) and then married her. So yeah, to a man like that, I am sure HW has been treated in the most appalling and unfair way. Absolutely gross- and he is considered a cinematic genius. But obviously not surprised in the slightest seeing as we have a self-confessed sex-offender in the White House.

Someoneasdumbasthis · 16/10/2017 09:22

Sorry but it is very well known in my industry that James Corden is an utter cunt. Now everyone can see for themselves.

MintyChops · 16/10/2017 09:37

And that "if you don't like it you can leave" is the sort of bullying shite that unfunny, sexist men in pubs say when you call them on their bullshit.

Papafran · 16/10/2017 09:41

I’ve no love for Corden but can someone explain the Patrick Stewart thing?

I think basically that PS got really angry having to sit through JC's disrespectful twattery all evening. He was stood looking bored with his hands in his pockets when he thought the cameras were off him. His gut was hanging out and he didn't care. He apparently made a 'gay joke' about Patrick Stewart fancying the Jonas Brothers. Patrick Stewart obviously had enough and called him out on it (and no doubt knew of his jumped up reputation from elsewhere). James Corden responded by aggressively getting in Patrick Stewart's face like it was a pub brawl and then pulling his shirt up to reveal his belly to the cameras.

I think the clip that was shown seems a bit weird, but it must be really annoying for someone of Patrick Stewart's standing to witness this jumped up young guy who is famous for basically playing himself in a TV show and being mouthy and coarse, making stupid and unfunny jokes at other people's expense. And then show a total lack of respect when he thinks it doesn't matter.

wasonthelist · 16/10/2017 09:42

Noooo don’t send Corden back here - why can’t the Americans keep our unwanted tissues? They sent sent us Piers Moron back

Cappuccinoloverr · 16/10/2017 09:58

Getting too big for his boots now.

Never has been and never will be funny.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 16/10/2017 10:03

I've never liked him either. Smug and self-important perfectly describes him. I have a cousin in the industry who has echoed some of the thoughts on this thread!

Montacute · 16/10/2017 10:21

Hollywood will want to be seen as cleaning house after the Weinstein scandal (even if it’s only a superficial clean) and Corden might find himself out of favour after this. He’s relatively small fry so would be an easy person to sacrifice in a ‘see, look at us taking sexual abuse in the industry seriously’.

DrKrogersfavouritepatient · 16/10/2017 10:39

Ooh a real sacrifice? That would make good telly. If anyone finds it offensive they could just leave

passmethewineplease · 16/10/2017 10:56

No wonder Matthew Horne can't stand him.

Let's hope he doesn't come back here! Though he still presents A Leaugue of their own on Sky.

SukiTheDog · 16/10/2017 11:03

Oooh, a real “throw him to the dogs” sacrifice would be nice. There’s probably a joke to be had out of that James, if you try hard enough.

Montacute · 16/10/2017 11:06

Good idea, he could go arm to arm combat with a pack of rabid chihuahuas.

SukiTheDog · 16/10/2017 11:11

Patrick Stewart is a much lauded Shakespearean actor who’s served his time in theatre, tv and movies. His career spans decades.

Cordon has gone a very long way on a very small talent. He’s basically James Cordon, playing James Cordon in everything. He got lucky. His luck’s run out hopefully.

CockacidalManiac · 16/10/2017 11:17

Matthew Horne is a good case in point. He and Corden made that terrible sketch show and film, and they got a lot of flak for it. Whereas Horne took a step back, thought about it, and has taken a much lower key approach, Corden obviously still believes his hype. I really don’t understand how he has become as fantastic us as he has.

Njordsgrrrl · 16/10/2017 11:17

I'd like to think he'll be over (but not back here ffs) But America elected a president who is on record saying sexual assault is cool so I'm not sure.

cowgirlsareforever · 16/10/2017 11:22

I think that James Corden is very talented.

cowgirlsareforever · 16/10/2017 11:23

But a giant fucking prick for saying what he did.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/10/2017 11:44

also, we’re going to be sending Peter Kay. try to make the best of it.

WAIT! HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/10/2017 11:48

I think that James Corden is very talented

Hmm
Lweji · 16/10/2017 11:49

**

You forgot Katie Hopkins.

Montacute · 16/10/2017 11:57

America have done great acts of charity taking on Corden and Morgan. Although Morgan is back now isn't he?

Butterymuffin · 16/10/2017 12:01

What happened between Matthew Horne and JC? I know they fell out but not why.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/10/2017 12:04

Morgan is back now isn't he?

Yes, but they can have the bugger back again!
