To think Boden have made a huge mistake.

They've just put out a new mum video, showing lots of successful instagrammers and their children head to toe in Boden.

However, these IG people and children are rarely dressed in Boden, if ever.

But just because they've got a lot of followers Boden hand it all out to people who don't actually treasure the brand.

There are 100s of dedicated Boden mums who treasure every piece of Boden, why can't Boden ever reward their loyal customers rather than give it out to people who don't even buy it.

I know a lot of people are outraged about this. When I look at IG I search the #bodenbyme and always see lots of normal families without 300k followers dressing their littlies in Boden. It's a shame that brand lovers never are appreciated when they are what keep the business going, if I was Johnnie I'd be getting hold of these families and working together to promote real Boden loving Mums and not just people who are in it for the cash or freebies.

AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ellisandra · 02/10/2017 20:51

Why not part normal working hard families?

Because the majority of people who are influenced by "real people" adverts don't give a shit about ordinary real people, but want to look at 'celebrity' real people.

They do actually know what they're doing.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 20:52

MP isn't in question here. She is an inspiration

"...... treasure every piece of Boden" - okaaayyy.

eurochick · 02/10/2017 20:52

Who really cares about this stuff? (Apart from the OP, obvs) Its just advertising.

BubbleAnimal · 02/10/2017 20:52

£850 childwear order?

This has got to be a joke. Well done OP.

BorisTrumpsHair · 02/10/2017 20:52

No one cares op. Seriously, no one cares.

Do you know that you're not most people's definition of a normal hard working family, if you can afford to drop £850 on baby clothes in one go, for a newborn?

Nice stealth boast btw Hmm

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 20:53

How very rude Mirrivan.

All children are attractive enough.

InspMorse · 02/10/2017 20:53

Some of their choices are good but why not part 'famous' and part normal working hard families

Quite right OP! I'm going to e-mail M&S CEO and ask the very same question!
We loyally spend £££ on their can't be arsed to cook ready meals and my family think we should feature in their adverts.

Fairylea · 02/10/2017 20:53

Boden won’t use mum of 3, Linda from Birmingham who no one knows will they? They want to pick people who will make people want to be like them / simply like their own instamum brand.

I really think it’s quite hilarious how precious people get about Boden and Joules. I have a family member who wouldn’t dream of letting her kids wear anything other than Joules, all 3 of the kids, all the time. She is extremely low income (as are we - tax credits, minimum wage full time workers etc) but she saves every spare penny she can to buy Joules. Each to their own!

Ellisandra · 02/10/2017 20:54

No Wellies, they're not.

Not for selling in adverts.

MinervaSaidThat · 02/10/2017 20:54

YABU for 'littlies' 😷

Unfortunately for Boden I was about to do a £850 babywear order

You need your head examining. £850 on a load of overpriced poor quality junk that will be vommed on repeatedly? Fine, buy a couple of cute outfits, but £850 is insane. Are you even pregnant or is this just to stock up?

Also, what is it that you want from Boden? For them to give free clothes to their biggest fans or something?

SocksRock · 02/10/2017 20:54

£850 on newborn clothes ShockShock

I prob spend less than that clothing all three of mine per year. But we do get lots of hand downs and then handed down again between the kids.

LuckLuckLUCK · 02/10/2017 20:54

Am loving this thread Smile

Nancy91 · 02/10/2017 20:55

I can't be the only person that thinks Boden is unfashionable and frumpy/mumsy?!

InspMorse · 02/10/2017 20:55

Please don't out yourself as a troll OP! Loving this bonkers thread!! Grin

HRHlikeahornyponywould · 02/10/2017 20:55

I'm with you. Sort of.

Their new adverts are bloody patronising. I thought that's what you were going to say.

Taking the mum out of mumsy.
Wear it like a mum

They seem set on giving stuff to bloggers at the moment, probably run by pr called Plum or somefink.

thecatfromjapan · 02/10/2017 20:55

This has completely passed me by.

I didn't know that there will still loyal Boden fans.

Hush seems to generate the sort of threads that Boden a few years ago.

£850 Shock. Are you having quintuplets?

Ellisandra · 02/10/2017 20:56

Yes to frumpy mumsy!
And I'm not exactly high fashion myself (looks down at Next sweater and leggings)
