To think Boden have made a huge mistake.

They've just put out a new mum video, showing lots of successful instagrammers and their children head to toe in Boden.

However, these IG people and children are rarely dressed in Boden, if ever.

But just because they've got a lot of followers Boden hand it all out to people who don't actually treasure the brand.

There are 100s of dedicated Boden mums who treasure every piece of Boden, why can't Boden ever reward their loyal customers rather than give it out to people who don't even buy it.

I know a lot of people are outraged about this. When I look at IG I search the #bodenbyme and always see lots of normal families without 300k followers dressing their littlies in Boden. It's a shame that brand lovers never are appreciated when they are what keep the business going, if I was Johnnie I'd be getting hold of these families and working together to promote real Boden loving Mums and not just people who are in it for the cash or freebies.

Who the fuck starches their own clothes? Slick has just morphed into stiff!

Papafran · 02/10/2017 22:09

A tenner says Kerry Katona is absolutely a true customer

To be fair, yes. I think so too.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:09

Even if they took the time to scroll through the #bodenbyme and pick their own loyal customers who fit the boot, it would still be nice to see.

You're welcome to show off your Boden. Make an instagram account, post a picture, even tag Boden in it and hashtag it so other people can see! Boden actually likes posts tagged with them fairly regularly, I just checked, so your favourite brand may even notice you.

What I'm curious to know is why it's so important for you to be able to show off your Boden, yet you supposedly don't want the fame?

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 22:09

Steady, Squiggle, there are Bodeners about and that kind of talk will offend them.

MadamePomfrey · 02/10/2017 22:10

Assuming fo one minute your genuine, surely it's the same as billboards you are going to pay more to rent on in Leicester Square that you will in my back garden (I offer very competitive rates if any one is looking though 😜) This people on instragram are in essence walking billboards it's business 101 that you are going to get them to advertise your stuff not someone seen by maybe a 100 people being generous! This is advertising not customer loyalty!

If you want loyalty Tesco clubcard points will pile up fast if you spend £850 on clothes!! Maybe that's a better fit in terms of customer loyalty?

AuntieFester · 02/10/2017 22:10

This is so funny, who needs comedy shows?
Thanks OP!!!

Miserylovescompany2 · 02/10/2017 22:10

I've gone off Boden now...

Witchend · 02/10/2017 22:12

There was a much quicker way to write the OP.
"It's not fair. Boden should give it to me for free"

I always did like paraphrasing.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:12

I don't want it for free.

I'd just like to see normal children on their social media.

pigeondujour · 02/10/2017 22:12

Now you've over-egged it. Shame.

Quite. Some people don't deserve to be in sole charge of potentially good lols.

Placemark for deletion message Grin

skincarejunkie · 02/10/2017 22:13

I've re read this thread twice now and it's wonderful.

I'm off now to starch my hard earned Boden..

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 02/10/2017 22:14

Ah don't delete her ! She even made a Bodeny username - some thought and effort went into this

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:14

At the end of the day.

We are all entitled to our opinions, I'm not pulling down yours so stop pulling down mine.

I do love Boden. correct.

I'd like to see non celebrities as the face of Boden, normal mums aren't celebs are they?

Not Peter Andre though ! I wonder where he and the lovely Emily shop

There is NO WAY peter Andre isn't partial to the occasional prawn ring

Eminybob · 02/10/2017 22:17

Were talking about Boden right? Boring overpriced high street brand Boden? Not Gucci or Chanel? Erm get over yourself op.

So if they did use their real customers in their advertising for some fucking unknown reason how would they decide who "loves and treasures" the brand enough to be worthy?

Do you know any brand that uses real customers in their advertising? No they use models and famous people, because that is what sells.

There is no time like the present for a new take on a catalogue.

You sound exactly like the poster who started the thread about boyfriend who had to go & collect his parents from a campsite when their car broke down. Weird that.

Agreed! The Christmas tree samosas and Santa sausage rolls will soon be upon us!

Altwoo · 02/10/2017 22:20

But you can show off your ‘hard-earned’ (Hmm) Boden - to your friends, family, other mums and even Instagram! Quite why you think you should have the right to therefore be in their advertising is beyond me.

Have you considered that these Instamums may be GENUINE Bodeners AND have 1000s of followers? Perhaps they have earned the right to promote Boden? Perhaps if you worked hard on your social influence, you could promote Boden too?

Wow. Just wow.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:21

What do you mean from a campsite?

Considering I've not even been to one before that was not I!

I hadn't heard of Boden today, I don't think. If I had, it didn't make an impression. I'm in the US, and they do have a US presence, but I don't think I know anyone who wears it. It's all a bit...old-fashioned. Which is probably why they're courting moms with blogs and instagram moms; they're seen as "cool," and if they wear the stuff, maybe it will look cooler than it actually is.

The girls' dressed all look like they were either home-sewn by grandma, or snatched from Cindy Brady's closet. The men's stuff seems ok.
