To think Boden have made a huge mistake.

They've just put out a new mum video, showing lots of successful instagrammers and their children head to toe in Boden.

However, these IG people and children are rarely dressed in Boden, if ever.

But just because they've got a lot of followers Boden hand it all out to people who don't actually treasure the brand.

There are 100s of dedicated Boden mums who treasure every piece of Boden, why can't Boden ever reward their loyal customers rather than give it out to people who don't even buy it.

I know a lot of people are outraged about this. When I look at IG I search the #bodenbyme and always see lots of normal families without 300k followers dressing their littlies in Boden. It's a shame that brand lovers never are appreciated when they are what keep the business going, if I was Johnnie I'd be getting hold of these families and working together to promote real Boden loving Mums and not just people who are in it for the cash or freebies.

I think I should be in the Boden ads. I buy mine from ebay and charity shops, never iron anything and only wear florals to hide porridge/vomit/dogging stains Grin

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:02

Yes, but why not show the parents that are behind the brand being successful.

LOL

This is a pisstake

I hate the boden threads they make me feel dirty

Do they reallly say 'dress like a Mum* Envy

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 22:03

I don't think I received a free scarf?

Get yourself over to Style and Beauty, they couldn't give their's away fast enough.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:03

It is most definitely not a pisstake.

Hahahahaha I don't care that I can't tell if this is serious or not!

LightastheBreeze · 02/10/2017 22:04

Today I got a catalogue with my name on the front and the date I bought my first piece.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 22:05

Because they are quite as successful or attractive, as the instamum?

Yes, but why not show the parents that are behind the brand being successful

Maybe for the same reason that MacDonalds , Iceland et al don't show their true clientele In their adverts either Grin

Eye roll. Oh my god

I'm not a Mum yet but I wear smart Boden and will dress my children in Boden.

You may want to rethink that....

Pretty quickly you'll realise that the quality of some of their children's clothing can be pretty awful - think fading in general, but particularly on knees and cuffs. Some of it is fine, but some of it is pretty awful.

They also don't seem to understand that children's heads are disproportionately large to their bodies, and don't leave the neck openings large enough to fit a child's head through - so annoying when you can't put a hoodie on your child anymore because their head won't fit into it.

And the sizing issues. It's a lottery. You daren't buy until somebody else has and left a review. Nothing ever seems to be trues to size, and it's a guessing game if you should go up 1, or 2 sizes, even chance 3?

And children's shoes in my experience were for children with wide feet. Seriously wide feet.

Ellisandra · 02/10/2017 22:06

Your husband understands?

Anyone else think the form of his understanding was a "yes dear" accompanied by an inner eye roll of "at least I know what to expect in transition, when they say the labouring woman may make no sense".

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:06

However I bet some of the instagrammers won't even bother to starch and iron their gifts.

*I am doing this as a service to other valuable Bodeners.

The ones that should have a chance to show off their hard earned Boden.*

You are the Joan of Arc of Bodeners. A true inspiration and a fighter for justice.
Hail Boden!

Thank you. Thank you

Wllies "Wouldn't it be nice to see normal families such as non famous mums who just loved Boden, featured too. Because they're true to the brand. Isn't that what it's all about, good customers?!"

This is a good point, Wellies. However, the sad, sad truth is that Boden probably can't do this because it would put people off buying the clothes . And that is sad, because, as Nietzsche said, we should 'love what is' - rather than forever chasing after, and punishing ourselves in pursuit of, some inhuman, unreal Ideal.

paxillin · 02/10/2017 22:08

However I bet some of the instagrammers won't even bother to starch and iron their gifts.

Now you've over-egged it. Shame.

SaucyJack · 02/10/2017 22:08

"Iceland et al don't show their true clientele In their adverts either"

A tenner says Kerry Katona is absolutely a true customer.

Papafran · 02/10/2017 22:08

OP, are you this invested in the advertising used by other brands? Like for example, do you think that Davina and Holly really use Garnier Nutrise on their hair and would you be gutted to find out that they go to the salon and real diehard Nutrise fans are being deprived of a chance to star in the advert? Do you think Cheryl really uses L'Oreal?

C8H10N4O2 · 02/10/2017 22:08

Yes, but why not show the parents that are behind the brand being successful.

Because nobody cares about those parents, they are too ordinay, too mumsy.

In the words of your idol:
'You can’t hold up a mirror to customers,’ says Johnnie Boden. 'If you make it too real, it becomes mumsy’

What do you find is the most effective way to remove hair from the tops of your feet op? I would imagine waxing that area is pretty painful

krustykittens · 02/10/2017 22:08

starch or iron their gifts

Nah, this is a piss take, it HAS to be!
