To think Boden have made a huge mistake.

They've just put out a new mum video, showing lots of successful instagrammers and their children head to toe in Boden.

However, these IG people and children are rarely dressed in Boden, if ever.

But just because they've got a lot of followers Boden hand it all out to people who don't actually treasure the brand.

There are 100s of dedicated Boden mums who treasure every piece of Boden, why can't Boden ever reward their loyal customers rather than give it out to people who don't even buy it.

I know a lot of people are outraged about this. When I look at IG I search the #bodenbyme and always see lots of normal families without 300k followers dressing their littlies in Boden. It's a shame that brand lovers never are appreciated when they are what keep the business going, if I was Johnnie I'd be getting hold of these families and working together to promote real Boden loving Mums and not just people who are in it for the cash or freebies.

I am just wondering why I read the whole thread!? The OP is clearly not interested in views that don't agree with her and continues to repeat herself!

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 21:54

So you want £££ of free stuff?

Honestly, OP, worse things happen in the world. There's a poor woman in another thread who is being forced to holiday in Blackpool.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 21:55

It just leaves a bad taste in mouth.

I've got a Boden t-shirt. It is striped.

Llareggub · 02/10/2017 21:55

Thecatfromjapan, ah yes, I am far from depressed now. You are absolutely right; it is a thing for sure.

thecatfromjapan · 02/10/2017 21:55

Thank you pootlepottle . I am clearly very lazy.

The US makes more sense than France.

I wonder if they sell any of their Hopscotch skirts in Paris?

VeryCunningStunt · 02/10/2017 21:55

Are you @phillisnights sister OP? wink

I was flip-flopping between Phyllis and Chester zoo/Frozen cake, but now I'm wondering if they're one and the same Shock

Maudlinmaud · 02/10/2017 21:56

Bodeners? Is this a thing? Autocorrect thinks it is.

Changerofname987654321 · 02/10/2017 21:56

*splendidisolation

Serious question from a non mum here: why do Mums jizz all over boden?*

I started buying Boden after having DD because dresses are longer and hide my new sack of potatoe shape and I don't have to set foot in an actual shop. I generally only buying in the sale and only a few chosen products that hopefully don't scream Boden.

My toddler's clothes are all strictly supermarket sale.

thecatfromjapan · 02/10/2017 21:56

@Llareggub Smile

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 21:56

What is so hard to comprehend.
Wouldn't it be nice to see normal families such as non famous mums who just loved Boden, featured too. Because they're true to the brand. Isn't that what it's all about, good customers?!

My husband luckily understands my point.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 21:58

Wellies, everyone understands, they just don't agree that you should get loads of free stuff from Boden.

twattymctwatterson · 02/10/2017 21:58

Boden is twee and naff as fuck. HTH.

2017SoFarSoGood · 02/10/2017 21:59

welcome to MN.

RebelRogue · 02/10/2017 21:59

Is he a Bodener too OP?

GwenStaceyRocks · 02/10/2017 21:59

Tbh it's a rubbish ad campaign.
'Dress like a mum' is a naff tagline.

Miserylovescompany2 · 02/10/2017 21:59

I don't think I received a free scarf? I've been bloody loyal over the years -they've lost me now

I did, however, receive a catalogue with my name printed throughout and no I hadn't changed it to Boden

dinosaursandtea · 02/10/2017 21:59

Wellies

No. It wouldn't. Particularly if they are, as you seem to be, a bit fucking weird.

You're clearly not anyone's idea of aspirational if you're this obsessed with a nice but not exactly mind-blowing brand.

CockacidalManiac · 02/10/2017 21:59

These threads just get worse.
What a load of bollocks.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 21:59

I don't want loads of free stuff.

I am doing this as a service to other valuable Bodeners.

The ones that should have a chance to show off their hard earned Boden.

My husband luckily understands my point.

Well, he should. You are about to have his baby. Mine totally understood my detailed planning for secondary schools and daily furniture re-arrangements just before PFB was due. He knew what was needed in the nervous run-up. I'm retrospectively quite impressed with him.

welliesandpuddles · 02/10/2017 22:01

I think it should be fair for all parents, insta parents or people who spend their money with the company.

OP posts:
GoodMorning1 · 02/10/2017 22:01

Don't spend £850 on clothes! Some babies are born too big for newborn size and go straight into 3-6 month age. You'll get given clothes as presents once they're born.

I spent far less than £850 on everything (including pram, cot, absolutely everything) when expecting my first. Mine only wear Boden if I find it in the charity shop or we're given it as a hand-me-down. If you have the sort of money that means you've got £850 to spend on newborn clothes then save it for something useful like uni tuition fees or their first house deposit when they're older!

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 02/10/2017 22:01

But you don't want them to hard earn it, you want it for free.

The hard earners are free to order and pay like customers, of all social classes and levels of attractiveness have been since the dawn of Boden.
