This has probably been done a million times but I'm curious.

Would also like to know your reasons why.

Everyone says I'm both in the wrong era. Sounds so clique but I love Bowie and Dylan hense my username

Def Leppard. First heard them when their self-financed ep got played on a midweek rock show on our local station (Picadilly in Manchester for any other oldies out there) back in 78/79. Then there were a couple of articles in Sounds and Record Mirror, I saw the pictures and I was hooked! Fist saw them live in autumn 1979 when they supported Sammy Hagar. Have seen them at least once on every UK tour since then, and also been to Germany, Spain, Poland, Belguim, France and the US for various specials. Even went on the ill-fated cruise...... it's hard to put into words, but the music just uplifts my mood and makes me smile every time. At first it was because there were these pretty boys that were my age making these amazing sounds, and then as I grew up they did too.

Other than that I love my rock music, especially leaning towards the AOR and sleazy side of it!

The Eagles' hotel California was the first album I ever bought, and is still one of my all-time favourites. Wasted Time still makes me cry. There's a tribute band out there now called the Ultimate Eagles, fronted by the gorgeous Danny Vaughn from Tyketto, if you like The Eagles at all you should really go to see them Smile.

Another fave band is Jimmy Eat World. Introduced to them by DS when he was a skater/emo teen and love their energy too.

Final mention goes to Finland's Reckless Love. Good-time rock done by pretty boys in the most incredibly tight trousers - what's not to love? Grin

Foo Fighters
Arctic Monkeys

I used to be an 80s only sort of person. Then I developed teenagers. Now I like Linkin Park, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, 30 Seconds to Mars. The thing that links them all is melodies - they all do melodies in lots of different ways. They're also pretty emo. I am an almost 50 year old emo and I don't care.

Coulddowithanap · 01/10/2017 18:46

Aerosmith because they’re timeless and I’m a little bit in love with Steven, Keane because they were my mum’s favourite band before she died, and Lady Antebellum just because!

Another Elbow lover, got their first album in 2001 and really pleased they finally made it big.
Mirrorball was our first dance at our wedding

PinkUnicorn1990 · 01/10/2017 20:19

Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and various other pop-punk/end bands from my teenage years. Newer bands of the same vein such as Twin Atlantic. Still love them but another Frank Turner fan here. The most friendly man and an amazing lyricist and musician Blush turned into a gibberish wreck when I met him!! Blush

PinkUnicorn1990 · 01/10/2017 20:20

*emo -damn autocorrect!
