I wonder why on Earth he's being so vindictive towards PR. Did he want to build a hotel or golf course there and they shot him down or something?

They're not white. At least not Arian white. Or orange.
They are also poor.
They don't vote for President.
And they're not a GOP demographic.

AcrossthePond55 · 12/10/2017 12:45

Well that explains it Roussette. Naturally he blames them. None of his failed business ventures are his fault don't you know!!

Lweji · 12/10/2017 12:46

An appalling set of tweets from DT this morning.

What a moronic arsehole.

(I found Rex's expression inspirational)

TheNorthWestPawsage · 12/10/2017 13:45

I think 'moronic arsehole' should make up at least part of the next thread title (as well as 'Desperate Cheeto') Smile

TheNorthWestPawsage · 12/10/2017 13:55

THREAD: Why is the Trump team thinking about offering Mueller an interview with Trump, and how should Mueller respond?

TheNorthWestPawsage · 12/10/2017 13:57

President's lawyers may offer Mueller a meeting with Trump
Looking to speed Mueller's Russia probe and show openness, the president's legal team might soon volunteer a chance for the special counsel to interview Trump.
www.politico.com/story/2017/10/12/trump-mueller-meeting-russia-243692

AcrossthePond55 · 12/10/2017 14:04

I'm sure his 'team' is looking for ways to 'construct' the interview in such a way as to minimize damage due to Scrotus' big mouth and to limit legal repercussions (they'll claim EP or ask for some type of immunity).

cozietoesie · 12/10/2017 14:07

That feels like 45’s own view and not that of his ‘team’. Smile

cozietoesie · 12/10/2017 14:19

Correct thread this time, hopefully.

US withdraws from UNESCO over 'anti-Israel bias'
amp.cnn.com/cnn/2017/10/12/politics/unesco-us-withdraw/index.html

The US is withdrawing from the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, the US State Department announced on Thursday
"This decision was not taken lightly, and reflects US concerns with mounting arrears at UNESCO, the need for fundamental reform in the organization, and continuing anti-Israel bias at UNESCO," she added.

cozietoesie · 12/10/2017 16:09

I saw that. Sad

Lweji · 12/10/2017 16:11

I was coming to ask what new fuckery was this.
UNESCO? Really?

Sleipnirthewonderhorse · 12/10/2017 16:24

Trump is apparently trying now trying to reorganise healthcare using an executive order.
As I don't really understand American healthcare I have no idea what this means, but I assume it's not going to end well.

badbadhusky · 12/10/2017 16:47

Thank you so much for bringing Randy Rainbow to these threads. He's the one tiny glimmer of silver in a very dark sky. Whenever a new song lands, my spirits are always momentarily lifted.

cozietoesie · 12/10/2017 16:52

I doubt it, Sleipnir.

AcrossthePond55 · 12/10/2017 16:53

Congress has the ability to override EOs. And there are already 'multi-state' plans under the ACA, both my son and cousin had one. I haven't read the EO itself, but I'm sure there are things slipped in to further undermine the ACA market.

The withdrawal from UNESCO is just another step in Trump's isolationist policies. But in his case it's not the 'typical' isolationism, which is more of a 'charity begins at home/American first!' thing. It's to isolate the US from the outside world to try to restrict free flow of information and for his purpose of building a plutocracy. He's gradually removing us from all the organizations and treaties that make the rest of the world look on the US with a feeling of 'we're all in this together' and making us look like we don't care about the rest of humanity or about making this planet a healthy and safe place for all humanity to live in. He wants the rest of the world to turn its collective back on the American people so that when we cry for help, no one wants to offer it.

cozie we're OK where I live. The winds have turned and it's not supposed to be so smoky, although of course we're always on the alert as this is fire season. BFF's town has been put on 'alert' meaning no evacs ordered but they've been told to prepare 'go bags', get important papers together, and do a video inventory of their home's contents. There's a new fire within about 5 miles (as the crow flies) of their town. We're their out of area contact as she's home, her DH and DS are working, and their DD is at school. BFF's most freaked out about the fact that she'll have to tow their caravan to a safe location. Neither she nor I (we have one too) have ever really towed, but she's put on her big girl pants and knows that she can do it if she has to!

cozietoesie · 12/10/2017 16:56

Good to hear, Across. Lots of wherewithal (Gin) required also I think? Smile

AcrossthePond55 · 12/10/2017 17:23

You betcha! Gin, Pelly & Ribena!

Minimammoth · 12/10/2017 17:40

Am I to assume that many on here are over the water?
UNESCO,Shock I am going to start to pray, chant Om, HailMary, the lot.
The man has no principles.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 12/10/2017 17:45

UNESCO news is shocking (at some point, the amount of times I’ve used the word “shocking” will render it completely devoid of all meaning).

Albright welcomed the chat with three company officials. But he was not pleased to discover that they had done more than talk about their concerns regarding his research. They also had scrubbed from the Internet nearly everything — thousands of Facebook posts and the related data — that had made the work possible.

Never again would he or any other researcher be able to run the kind of analysis he had done just days earlier

Roussette · 12/10/2017 17:52

The withdrawal from UNESCO is pathetic... all because Israel are miffed about Hebron being listed as a Palestinian world heritage site and not Israeli but UNESCO does such good, it's just not about historical sites.

What else can the US withdraw from? We've had NAFTA, Paris Accord, TPP, and now UNESCO. Is it NATO next? The US will be on it's own if they do

JARED KUSHNER HID ONE OF HIS COMPANIES ON A DISCLOSURE FORM — THEN PROFITED

www.newsweek.com/jared-kushner-ivanka-trump-white-house-forms-omissions-cadre-millions-679231?amp=1

Jared Kushner "enriched himself" by not revealing his ownership of a real estate tech business that raised millions of dollars while he served in the government, said a member of the House Judiciary Committee, calling it part of a pattern of unethical behavior that he believes should cause the White House Senior Adviser to be stripped of his security clearance.

Congressman Ted Lieu told Newsweek that Kushner's failure to list a company called Cadre on his initial financial disclosure forms—an oversight that could mean millions for the president’s son-in-law—is an ethical lapse that should have severe ramifications.
