Golf bag that is in the way (not put away after being used over a week ago)

DH has left golf bag on trolley in our narrow hallway because he is being passive aggressive/lazy shit.

He played golf approx 10 days ago. Said golf bag must have been in boot of his car then it appeared in hall. Has remained there ever since. It must have been 8 days now. AIBU to aim it in the bin?AIBU to re-position it outside in garden?AIBU to expect him not to deliberately wind me up with this behaviour? That is a lot of AIBUs. Perhaps he is thinking of playing golf this weekend? Perhaps he might be intending on playing regularly now instead of the once of twice a years that has been the 'norm' for the last 12 months.

We have a shed and garage. We have a spare bedroom and a loft.

Hang coats, jackets, bags etc off it....

Aquamarine1029 · 27/09/2017 18:16

Ask him if he really is such a massive twat that he can't put his toys away after playing with them.

AlternativeTentacle · 27/09/2017 18:17

Make it disappear.
'Have you seen the golf bag'.
No, should I have'
'Yes, I left it here in the hall'
'In the hall?'
'Yes'
'Why would you do that, surely in the hall is in the way. Why wouldn't you put it in the shed, the garage the spare bedroom, or the loft?
'Erm'
Silence.

'So have you seen it?'
'I said I hadn't. Are you sure you didn't put it away somewhere not in the way?'
'no I definitely left it there'
'Remind me again why you would leave it in the hall, in the way?'
'Silence.'

Problem solved. Golf bag never seen again.

Move it but put it somewhere where it's in his way, not yours ... behind his car, in the bedroom on his side of the bed, in front of his wardrobe/drawers .... anywhere really as long as he stubbs his to on it every time he moves ..... what a git!!! Why is he being so PA about it?

N0tNowBernard · 27/09/2017 18:18

This reminds me of that episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where no-one puts away the suitcase on the stairs!

Tealdeal747 · 27/09/2017 18:19

Have you had a conversation about it?

StatueInTheSky · 27/09/2017 18:19

put a for sale sign on it, and put it on facebay for a tenner.

see how long it takes him to miss it....you KNOW if it moves from the hall he will think you have caved and put it away, he will revel in his battle triumph, but you will KNOW you won the war and you can be smug in the knowledge that it will never sit in your hall ever again.

Lanaa · 27/09/2017 18:20

Why don't you just be an adult about it and put it away. No games, no drama. Put it away and forget about it.

Yes to this!!

teaandtoast · 27/09/2017 18:25

Lanaa - why can't he be an adult and put it away?

TheMasterNotMargarita · 27/09/2017 18:27

NotNowBernard I was coming on to say put some smelly cheese inside it!!😂🧀

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 27/09/2017 18:27

Dh's "golf stuff" is in the shed, how it got there is a mystery but it's not getting back in this house.

We've had numerous conversations about giving up the idea of golf cos its not his thing, in full agreement, he does not play, does not have a membership ... realises he has more enjoyable hobbies ... get rid of the golf stuff dear? Er not yet.

I'm amassing a corner or my shed of his stuff that I'm getting rid of, he won't even know its gone.

whydoiletthishappen · 27/09/2017 18:27

He is not talking to me at the moment because he cannot express his feelings by talking to me so he gives me the silent treatment.

I will put it away and when he asks why i'll say it was in my way so i moved it out of my way.

He is also leaving used cups, mugs, glass , plate, bowls food containers, yoghurt pots (for days) on the sitting room floor. PA again. I don't want to give in to the PA but I don't want rows either.

This is hard to answer because if it were me and DH a) he'd get sick of stepping over it himself and shift it by day 2, or b) i'd just say ''shift that golf bag love, i keep walking into it'' and he'd say ''righto, sorry'' and it would be gone.

If this is the sort of mind game which crops up in your marriage a lot then ... it must be a miserable partnership. Why go on with it?

bottlesandcans · 27/09/2017 18:29

Bin it

GeekyWombat · 27/09/2017 18:30

I'm going to hazard a guess this isn't really just about a golf bag...

Laiste · 27/09/2017 18:30

x post OP.

So my second paragraph/question stands.

martellandginger · 27/09/2017 18:34

Drop yogurt into it. or something smelly like hake..

agedknees · 27/09/2017 18:35

This is an easy one. All the cups, yoghurt pots etc he leaves on the floor, pick them up and shove them in his golf bag.

When it's full put it outsid with the other bins.

Problem solved.

viques · 27/09/2017 18:37

@agedknees has it!

PutTheBunnyBackInTheBox · 27/09/2017 18:37

Do you actually like each other?

I'm waiting for the drip feed about controlling/agressive behaviour and then the LTB will start.

CaptWentworth · 27/09/2017 18:37

DH's golf stuff must be kept in the house. Presumably because the shed is too cold for them Hmm

My beautiful spare room looks like a branch of Cotswolds too.

MyWhatICallNameChange · 27/09/2017 18:37

Definitely what agedknees said.

Or bin him. Have a LTB from me.

monkeywithacowface · 27/09/2017 18:40

I wouldn't move it but I would remove the putter (all of them if he has more than one) and hide it so when he plays his next game he gets to the green and wonders where the fuck it is. Or replace all his golf balls with joke exploding ones.

I'd be tempted to put the empty yoghurt pots in the bottom of the golf bag too
