What else could it be?

kali110 · 27/09/2017 09:35

And if you're using spot on or any product with the same active ingredient ( it begins fib) try something else as fleas have become immune to it.

2014newme · 27/09/2017 09:35

If you're convinced it's fleas the carpets need to be done. Gross!

Lweji · 27/09/2017 09:37

Bed bugs?

Iruka · 27/09/2017 09:37

It could be urticaria, have you tried antihistamine tablets?

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 27/09/2017 09:38

What are you using to de flea? If it's something like bob Martin this is useless. Frontline doesn't work on my cat either. I use special vet prescribed flea treatment and spray the house with tins of Indorex. This combination is successful every time. Keep hoovering and put a flea collar in your hoover to treat it.

Sarahlou031 · 27/09/2017 09:38

I've even bought a new mattress ..
I haven't took any medication
I might try Claritin

Where are the bites? Only on your legs?

Rule out bedbugs. A new mattress isn't enough - the fuckers live in crevices or, in our case, they were found snoozing behind the pictures in dd's room (I think we got them from secondhand books bought from charity shops as yes they can live in book spines for months without eating).

Tinty · 27/09/2017 09:42

Put a sticky fly paper in your hoover bag when the fleas in your carpets and the eggs get hoovered up they will die, instead of just getting out and re-infesting your carpets and dog.

Believeitornot · 27/09/2017 09:42

Also I will add -
DH was the only one who reacted to bed bug bites. The rest of us didn't get the reaction - this is common apparently.

So first step, check carefully around your bed, any crevices, pictures, back of side table etc. Best time to look is first thing in the morning.

Sarahlou031 · 27/09/2017 09:45

Legs, stomach and wrists mostly legs tho and knees ..tiny dot on wrist
I'm sleeping in so many layers tho ,,3 pairs of socks ..leggings then pjs plus long sleeve top and jumper .how are they biting?

Do you have a birds nest on your house? I had really bad bites from a house martin nest. When the birds leave at this time of year the mites go looking for another source of food. They look a bit like bed bugs. My DP doesn't get affected by them but I get covered.

koalab · 27/09/2017 09:48

I should add that I loved my house martins but the relief last year when the nest fell off was immense. I was so torn about taking it down myself.

Believeitornot · 27/09/2017 09:56

Ah maybe not bedbugs then as they go for the easy pickings! But do a check just in case.

Have you changed detergent? Do you get hot easily? Just wondering if it's heat rash/hives. My dd got that when over dressed at night.

BMW6 · 27/09/2017 09:58

Looks like mosquito bites to me. Is there a pond or any standing water nearby?

Rikalaily · 27/09/2017 10:06

That spray probably hasn't done the job if it's fleas, anything you can buy in the shops is mostly ineffective. You can get a spray called Acclaim on Amazon, it's fab and lasts for up to a year

Autumnskiesarelovely · 27/09/2017 10:07

You need exterminators!

kali110 · 27/09/2017 10:14

Frontline and bob martin have the same active ingredient.

Sarahlou031 · 27/09/2017 10:23

No pond or birds nest.
I just cant understand if it is fleas why no one else is being bitten.
The itchiness is driving me up the wall

it might be that others are being bitten, it's just less noticeable. my mum is allergic to flea bites and comes up in lumps a bit like that. Show the bites to the pharmacist, but I'd try antihistamines.

theEagleIsLost · 27/09/2017 10:31

If not pond - water butt or any standing water. I was getting bites like that if Dh opened the window or I wnet outside with bare flesh.

I insted water butt was fully emptied - after much arguing it was done and problem went.
