Have you read a thread that has really stayed with you?

I always think of the foster mum, who sadly passed away. She was looking after lovely ladybird (I think that is what she called her) and her posts made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. I did feel utterly heartbroken when I read she had passed on and she truly has inspired me to go into foster caring in later years.

I think about the poster who was pregnant and found out about her DP having an affair, after he was in hospital because of a car crash. I wonder how she is getting on and hope she is doing well.

Whenever I think about the poster who accidentally took the case of prosecco (was it prosecco?!) and the following Christmas, she was given a single bottle only, I really chuckle.

Well this thread has taken a strange turn? No idea who Catchem is!

I remember cupofteaplease and Beatrice, how lovely she came onto this thread. There was a mum on the bereavement board whose name I can't remember but had a beautiful red haired daughter called Mia who died very suddenly. She wrote so beautifully about her.

Mrs Devere and Expat. I do actually see Mrs Devere 'in real life' aka a Facebook group we are both on, but I still think of Billie very often.

Marmalade/bupcakes is probably my all time funniest poster, she used to crack me up!

Dittany terrified me.

Was Surrey Times the one with the wife Caroline who died? Was it not real? Shock can someone PM me?

There was a poster years ago (PenguinBear or something?) who said that she had had a baby and didnt even realise she was pregnant whilst at uni? She posted pictures of her '7 months pregnant' and everything! I think she also posted on a thread saying she had sex with her boyfriend under a blanket on the sofa whilst her daughter was in the same room watching telly. I think she turned out to be....not what she seemed.....

Cogito - there was a thread that said she was badly taken in by a troll, as were a lot of others, even met the troll in real life. Hit her so hard she quit :(

NC04 · 30/09/2017 14:11

There was the poor woman in America whose husband had a brain tumour, and she had alcohol problems.

And the farming family, who lived on her PIL farm. Inlaws were really overbearing, and the family were spending lots of time (and money, possibly) on the farm but getting nothing back for themselves. Hope they got away.

PhilODox · 30/09/2017 21:08

Does anyone remember the poster that would buy baby clothes etc, and post about her "baby" ... but it was a teddy bear?!

RunningOutOfCharge · 30/09/2017 21:09

Yes I remember that poster Sad

She had photos of it in a sling (back in the lentil-weavery days of MN) even.

LilaoftheGreenwood · 30/09/2017 21:24

Christ poor Cogito! Hope she' ok.

Glowworm123 · 30/09/2017 21:32

@AndersArms Is this South African part of your post in relation to me? Flowers

Apileofballyhoo · 30/09/2017 21:34

KatsutheClockworkOctopus I was just wondering yesterday what happened that woman. Her DH sounded impossible.

KermitsLoveChild · 30/09/2017 21:41

The poster who’d had a son removed by SS and then gave birth to a daughter. She was terrified DD would be removed but with supper was allowed to keep the baby with her. She was to show continued improvement until September this year before they’d consider reuniting her with her DS.

I wonder how they’re all getting on and hope that she kept up all the effort and that the family will soon be back together.

TheFormidableMrsC · 30/09/2017 21:42

Another one here for OpheliaRose, so many called troll but I never thought so. I hope she's OK too.

I also wonder about the poster whose name escapes me who was completely failed by the legal system and whose ex managed to get full custody of one child but not the other two. I wish I knew what happened with that. I do think of her often.

Somebody upthread mentioned IWasHappy. I hope I am not making a massive faux pas here but I believe she was a troll who created an entire scenario and infiltrated RL relationships. I apologise if I have got that wrong, but I don't think I have.

TheFormidableMrsC · 30/09/2017 21:47

Poor Cogito, I can relate to that actually....see my last post.

OliviaPopeRules · 30/09/2017 21:55

Cath, Pippa's mum and JennyWren, heartbreaking posts.

OliviaPopeRules · 30/09/2017 21:55

And Zombie

Mummylin · 30/09/2017 22:01

I think the poster with a teddy bear for a baby was something like jbabyj that may not be exactly right.
Trinityrhino posted just a couple of weeks ago.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 30/09/2017 22:09

GGG and Maude - she wrote so eloquently even through her heartbreak.

The poster who was about to walk out and leave her disabled husband because their house was in such a state - some Mumsnetters went and helped her clean it up - one of them was Quirrel, I can't remember who else.

Odd Socks - she was so dignified even when in dire straits - I pm'd her offering help and even though she had nothing she refused. I hope she is OK, I often think about her.

RJnomore1 · 30/09/2017 22:16

There's two I think of often. They needed support but just got bollockings every time they posted.

One was cherrymonster who had her brother living with her and had a little go at a jewellery business and got dogs abuse for both

The other was dooinmycleanin who worked in the takeaway and had two girls and a rather nasty lazy ex.

FortunatelyUnfortunately · 30/09/2017 22:20

I think about KurriKurri a lot. She was on the early Tamoxifen threads (nos 5-14ish roughly) although I joined the thread about a year after she did. Her breast cancer presented similarly to mine and I am so glad to see her doing well. There are some ladies on those threads that didn't have a positive outlook and are no longer with us. I am humbled daily by their bravery.

Hi @KurriKurri I don't know if you remember me: I had a low value currency related user name then.

Hunkle · 30/09/2017 22:30

What did happen to the lady who questioned the services charges in her cul de sac?

Didnt she uncover a scandal?

qumquat · 30/09/2017 22:47

Not RTFT but I often think of riven from many years ago.
