Have you read a thread that has really stayed with you?

I always think of the foster mum, who sadly passed away. She was looking after lovely ladybird (I think that is what she called her) and her posts made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. I did feel utterly heartbroken when I read she had passed on and she truly has inspired me to go into foster caring in later years.

I think about the poster who was pregnant and found out about her DP having an affair, after he was in hospital because of a car crash. I wonder how she is getting on and hope she is doing well.

Whenever I think about the poster who accidentally took the case of prosecco (was it prosecco?!) and the following Christmas, she was given a single bottle only, I really chuckle.

I think of Bea & Cup often ❤️

PhilODox · 29/09/2017 06:32

I still see thumbwitch on here regularly- her name is slightly different now but still has thumb in it.

aleC4 · 29/09/2017 06:33

One of the threads that moved me the most was a poster whose name I have forgotten.
She lived in France I believe and had a little girl called Maude who died suddenly in her sleep.
It was so sad but she wrote so beautifully.
I think she had quite a few older children.
There was a lot of fundraising afterwards and I think it was called Mile for Maude.
I often wonder how they are getting on.

The poster who got back from work to literally find her house half empty and her "DH" gone with no explanation. She was absolutely pole-axed by it obviously, and then within quick succession she discovered (a) he'd left her for OW who (b) was pregnant and (c) OP was pregnant herself!

Lila (and PorpoisefullyObtuse) - happy to report that TrickyTreeLou is thriving, and her little boy just started Reception. Her ex sends a card and low-to-no-effort gift to his son on his birthday signed with his name and '(dad)' in brackets. He has never sought contact with him. (It was the fancy chutney that he had purloined).

Sad to hear Bonsoir/Bobochic is ill.

CiderwithBuda · 29/09/2017 08:04

There are many that I remember and think of often. Missdee and Pink Peter, OnlyJoking and her late DH and his love of trifle, MartianBishop (and how she was treated by some people - accused of using her DH's illness and death as attention seeking - really horrible), MrsDeVere and Billie, Zombie, Expat and Aillidh (I still think of Aillidh when Peter I hear 'Call Me Maybe'), Gglimpopo (sp?) and Maude, Rindercella. The poor girl who got away from her abusive husband - I think the GP intervened and called social services and physically took the baby while they were in the surgery - she got away but was so beaten down she committed suicide. So many heartbreaking stories that are never just 'words in a screen' but stay with you. And of course completely uplifting in the case of Misdee and Pink Peter.

There are so many chilling posts in Relationships sometimes that I despair and when the poster disappears I wonder what happened. And if I read in the paper of a woman having been killed by her partner or husband I wonder if she was one of those posters.

StealthPolarBear · 29/09/2017 08:07

Buds lots of those people are still here

CiderwithBuda · 29/09/2017 09:00

I know Stealth. They are just some of the posters that have stayed with me.

LilaoftheGreenwood · 29/09/2017 09:57

Math that was it, he was the Chunt, sounds like he is still a Chunt! Glad to hear she's doing well.

CallaLilli · 29/09/2017 10:21

Wasn't there once a post from a woman who'd left her husband for another woman and the OW was now trying to convince her that her little daughter was evil? Then the Ayesha Choudhary case happened. I am convinced it was the same womanSad

cheapskatemum · 29/09/2017 10:39

niceupthedance we have the same taste in MNers! I came on to say Tunnocks. My RL friends were telling me about a woman they'd seen on TV the other day & I quickly realised it must have been her! So happy for her. She has used other names so I hope she's still around. Also Cogito, who gave me great advice on Relationships, which I didn't take and have regretted a million times since. Ditto Dahlen, or Dahleen - it was a long time ago!
Waves at MaryZ, glad you're still around, will PM you an update.
Mo still posts, if you look hard enough.

cheapskatemum · 29/09/2017 10:39

Also Riven was excited to see her on TV too.

CiderwithBuda · 29/09/2017 10:47

Calla - yes I wondered that too Sad. Seems a big coincidence to have two situations like that.

augustusglupe · 29/09/2017 10:57

Gosh, I thought that about Tunnocks the other day. A lady was in a news item online and I thought it must be her.
noddyholder I'm sure she's still around, but I haven't seen her for yonks and used to like her posts.

HappyAxolotl · 29/09/2017 11:34

Who could ever forget Skully!

Ok, Skully wasn't a Mumsnetter but was definitely the star of the thread, despite being very much deceased. Did he make it back to his original resting place in the end? Wasn't it Rouen?

StealthPolarBear · 29/09/2017 11:39

Oh sorry buda

thecatfromjapan · 29/09/2017 12:07

I miss threadworm a lot. I've not seen her at all.

I miss the Spa, though I notice a lot of the posters here and there. I won't do a call-out - because if you're 'undercover, you might not appreciate it - but I do always read your posts and wish you all very well. Smile Flowers

BulletFox · 29/09/2017 12:10

@cider the girl who the GP took the baby from committed suicide? Did she ever see her baby again?

BulletFox · 29/09/2017 12:11

Damn I'm not getting the hang of bold on here :)

ErrolTheDragon · 29/09/2017 12:27

Trinity Rhino came back a while ago - not sure if it was just a brief visit.

Some of the others mentioned are definitely still around - maybe NC'd or in less obvious places like higher ed, now the kids are all grown up.

I was stunned to hear today that Honeydragon was banned, her threads were always amusing and I can't remember any nastiness.Confused

PrincessFiorimonde · 29/09/2017 12:39

Honeydragon has been banned????

PrincessFiorimonde · 29/09/2017 13:06

Ah, apparently Honeydragon wasn't banned; she's stopped posting because of frustration with the site.

CiderwithBuda · 29/09/2017 13:13

S'ok Stealth!

BulletFox - it was a few years ago but from memory what happened was that they were all at the GP and the GP took the baby and called SS. She did get the baby back. I can't remember the full details but the she and th children did end up in a refuge. And/or a hotel. I think at one point he found them and beat her. She was terrified and very lost. Sadly her sister came on to update us that she had attempted suicide. She was in hospital but didn't make it. The sister took th children - I think they were about 1 and 2 or so. It was so so sad.

BulletFox · 29/09/2017 13:16

Oh god that's horrible :(

KimchiLaLa · 29/09/2017 13:20

Mrs Koala

PerfumeIsAMessage · 29/09/2017 13:22

Mrs Koala is always on here! Has her own long running thread.
