Have you read a thread that has really stayed with you?

I always think of the foster mum, who sadly passed away. She was looking after lovely ladybird (I think that is what she called her) and her posts made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. I did feel utterly heartbroken when I read she had passed on and she truly has inspired me to go into foster caring in later years.

I think about the poster who was pregnant and found out about her DP having an affair, after he was in hospital because of a car crash. I wonder how she is getting on and hope she is doing well.

Whenever I think about the poster who accidentally took the case of prosecco (was it prosecco?!) and the following Christmas, she was given a single bottle only, I really chuckle.

Riven
Solid gold brass
Reality
Getorf

Threads that have stuck in my head are the poster who was an alcoholic and her husband had a brain tumour I think? She had quite a few threads going.

The poster who's dh committed suicide over Christmas, I think she had issues with her mil afterwards and had met a new man. I hope things worked out for her.

Quite recently a young woman who was pregnant and her partner was trying to make her have a late abortion. I think she went back home to her parents.

AndersArms · 27/09/2017 22:32

EMIN and the addicted baby- I read that thread in one go at work and sobbed at my desk.

Cathpip- I think of you often and wonder how you are. My DD was the exact same age as Pippa, they share a birthday. Flowers

Expat. Flowers

The lady that went back to South Africa. I hope she is doing well.

The first thread I ever read was KungFuPanda's road war with a woman who would never reverse on a single track lane. I often wonder if she is still doing that journey!

Mummylin · 27/09/2017 22:41

Fluffydressingown who despite having problems of her own, always tried to help other posters with mental health problems. Life became too hard for her eventually.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/09/2017 22:48

The foster daughter going to uni, whose foster mother had cancer was a troll. Sorry.

Bobochic/Bonsoir hasn't posted since earlier this year. Last I heard, she had a brain tumour.

RunningOutOfCharge · 27/09/2017 22:49

I thoughtTDWP was also a trolll

thecatfromjapan · 27/09/2017 22:50

Bonsoir has a brain tumour? Oh no. I had no idea.

Wallywobbles · 27/09/2017 22:52

Cogito. She just vanished.

Kidsarekarma · 27/09/2017 23:04

I remember Gentleotter, I loved her blog.
Biscuitsandbandages, following her sad journey Sad
Nickelbabe (I was pushing along with her Grin)
Lots more, but especially Shiney who got me hooked on MN in the first place, crying with laughter at the things she got up to.

QuietNinjaTardis · 27/09/2017 23:04

Kungfupandas road war with bob reversing woman was awesome.
Does anyone remember jasonthunderpants? I may have that name completely wrong. Frozen peppers? It must have been 100 years ago so I've quite possibly got muddled

skinnyamericano · 27/09/2017 23:08

Tunnocks, Trazzletoes and Riven.

Did SurreyTimes turn out to be fake? I cried over that story 🙁

I'm scared to ask but did Trazzletoes' son recover?

CloudPerson · 27/09/2017 23:11

KerryMumbles wrote some great Halloween stories didn't she?

Sunbeam18 · 27/09/2017 23:13

Biscuitsandbandages - I think often of her and her family.

MargotLovedTom1 · 27/09/2017 23:13

LadyBeagleEyes

Sooooooooooooooooooooo · 27/09/2017 23:37

What happened to Cogito?

PhilODox · 27/09/2017 23:50

mrsshadenfreude that is terribly sad news about Bonsoir. I did wonder where she was. Sad

I haven't seen MMe Lindor for a very long time, or notanotter and her enormous brood. I think of treedelivery too, who was going to be an egg donor, and hope all went well for the recipient.

PhilODox · 27/09/2017 23:55

And thecatfromjapan I had assumed your name was from a children's book, but I realised today it's a Bowie reference! Blush
It was on the radio in the car. I had to explain to my 8yo what "god-given ass" meant! Blush And "leper messiah". And, indeed, what a leper was, and what a messiah is. Interesting journey. Hmm

Footle · 28/09/2017 07:06

skinnyamericano, Joseph died recently.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/09/2017 07:10

I wonder about Gentleotter and how her farm is going.

fairyofallthings · 28/09/2017 07:19

tbtc like that, she was going through a horrible divorce but I think she must have left/name changed. I hope that she's OK and happier now.

biscuitsandbandages, her sad journey and brave posts from hospital.

fairyofallthings · 28/09/2017 07:19

tbtc ^ or something like that.

Mix56 · 28/09/2017 07:54

I also wonder about the mother who was trying to get her kidnapped son back from abusive X, but not the other son. the boy wasn't allowed to She was so desperate. the system failed her completely

Mix56 · 28/09/2017 07:55

oops, the boy wasn't allowed to speak to her,

IHeartKingThistle · 28/09/2017 07:55

Hopeless that was me with the stairs/handrail/grandparents issue. Can't believe anyone remembers that! So glad I posted. People on that thread helped me see what was going on in my parents' heads and that enabled me to tackle the situation differently. 2 years after the accident, they put up a bannister.

There was never a huge row and I doubt it'll ever be spoken about again. I haven't forgotten but I'm so relieved to finally have closure on the whole thing and move on.

DD is absolutely fine. In fact she's 10 and a half and 5 foot 2 and lovely!
