Maybe it's just me, but I'll kick off with:
Booby monster (or any kind of 'monster')
Figetbum (not seen this often, but it is so horrific I can't forget it)
Snuggly cuddles (see also milky cuddles, and sleepy cuddles or snuggles)
Newborn, used as a noun, not an adjective - as in my newborn, not my newborn baby.
I'm sure I will think of some more!

PFB- my child is an only due to secondary infertility, it somehow feels that those lucky enough to have more than one are a smug kind of superior to me. Hate it!

Boils my piss - it's just so vulgar, what's wrong with just saying it really annoys me

Sanpro: sanitary protection ie pads, tampons, mooncups.

Sugesting mooncups annoys me. Someone says their daughter has heavy periods and can't do PE and someone has to suggest the daughter uses one.

Thanks @toffee1000

Why do people get annoyed with 'sanpro' then? Confused

@ambereeree

Suggesting mooncups annoys me.

Have to say I could never use a mooncup. Each to their own, but it's a no from me.

I also wonder why people hate sanpro so much. One could say "items designed for sanitary protection during menstruation; including, but not restricted to, mooncups, sanitary pads, liners, tampons, reusable pads". Or sanpro.

When a person has to be described using their height and build for any justification...

'My 6ft husband'
'Rugby type'
'5ft0 me'

Etc etc. Also, and probably because my husband is exceptionally tall, it makes me roll my eyes when people refer to their husbands as 6ft sheds etc as if it is unuas for a man to be that height.

Also, (I'm on a rant now), all the children, usually boys, who are sticky, built like their dads but not an ounce of fat on them.

Always makes me think of props in rugby who are large but not always solid muscle

Boob monster, on the boob, baby loves boob etc.
Sanpro.
Narc.
People using the word triggering thinking it means something you don't like.
Food of the Gods used when describing something like a crisp sandwich or a pot noodle.
Nom nom.

The endless lengths that some posters go to to try and suggest control/abuse by a DP in a really everyday situation. Same goes for 'why are you with him?'

SHL
'Phone the MH crisis team' when it's clearly not a crisis.
Go to the GP surgery and refuse to leave until you're seen.

Thank God people seem to have stopped saying 'read Lundy Bancroft' otherwise that would be on the list too!

Oh and 'it might be part of a bigger picture' when suggesting calling social services because a toddler didn't have socks on or something equally ridiculous.

Cunt. I hate the use of the word to describe anyone or anything except an actual real cunt.

Report
IfNot · 07/10/2017 14:29

Oh come on Bertrand. It's such a good word. So satisfying to say. And a mainstay of MN.

Report
IfNot · 07/10/2017 14:30

I nearly typed "oh come on Bertrand you cunt" but I'm trying to be good.

Report
Redglitter · 07/10/2017 15:30

Naice I hate that word too sounds ridiculous and pretentious

Sarah, that is what I was getting at in my (confusing) post up thread. Does anyone know anyone IRL as strict with healthy eating as most posters on MN? I have only ever come across one, and to he honest, she was nowhere near as obsessive as MN mums are (or are they REALLY?Wink)
And there is always one smartarse toddler mum who thinks they have the whole thing cracked because their one-year-old will eat natural yohhurt and broccoli. Haha - just wait!

Yes, mistaking a not yet reached developmental stage for superior parenting. Pickiness, tantrums, lying, sulking are not celebrated the same way as walking, potty training and reading, but they are all stages of development. Some of us are lucky and these stages are short or mild, some less so.

Sanpro is an irritating portmanteau. If you can't name the actual object (a tampon, a fucking mooncup, whatever) then at least type of 'sanitary products'.

Posters who describe their pain in the arse DC as 'spirited'.

Snack.

Munch - "I gave my toddler a bit of toast to munch"

Entitled. I use it, but think it's deployed too often.

Attention-seeking. I wish more women would attention-seek.

Report
ArcheryAnnie · 07/10/2017 17:12

Oh, and I'm with you, Bertrand, on "cunt". It should be used to describe a good thing, not as a stand-in for the worst.

Redglitter · 08/10/2017 22:06

Spidey senses 🙄

Fuck off to the far side of fuck. Then when you get there, fuck off some more .

Urghh those who use this phrase seem to think that they are so edgy and rebellious

I've never understood Boak. Can anyone enlighten me?

Report
peachgreen · 05/06/2018 19:10

@blossombottom It just means vomit. It's not a MN thing, it's common in Northern Ireland and Scotland (sometimes spelt "boke" I think but I would spell it "boak").
