Fucking Argos

Ordered 2 sofas to be delivered today, paid extra for a 2-6 slot. They turned up at 12.37!! Saw them pulling out of our road as I came back from walking the dog. Then left a voicemail telling me my delivery wouldn't happen today. Despite me paying for a certain slot they gave me a slot of 1-3. They were still bloody outside this! The delivery driver is apparently 'unwilling' to return so no sofas.

Old sofas are gone and customer services 'get where I'm coming from' but can't tell the driver to come back when he should have been here either for their slot or the slot I paid for and they'll discuss any compensation for the hassle when I've received the sofas. How I stayed calm I don't know. Can't have a midweek slot as we both work so no sofas for 2 fucking weeks!!!

Aibu to think Argos are utterly shoddy both with their delivery services and customer services?

Could you put a message on their FB page? I would point out to them that you were not in as they attempted to deliver outside of their slot so it would have been impossible for you to be aggressive!

Usernamegone · 24/09/2017 14:45

Would you be willing to post your twitter handle then we can retweet your tweet about their diabolical service!

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 14:49

She said:

Tail wagging the dog...this means the dog is not in charge, the tail is...ie argos not in charge, the delivery driver is.

I think!!

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 14:50

Argos helpers are no help, have said the same thing as before, can't do it today and won't be available at the weekend for 2 weeks

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 14:50

Yes thank you hambo

BackieJerkhart · 24/09/2017 14:58

Ok, so you did speak to the driver? You phoned them after the voicemail? So were they right? Were you aggressive?

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 14:58

Still repeating the aggression claim and not grasping the fact that we work full time 🙄

Fucking Argos

Delivery was refused??

BackieJerkhart · 24/09/2017 14:59

Have you left out a chunk of this story OP?

kali110 · 24/09/2017 14:59

I agree with others, id cancel the order.
Fuck them.
Id rather buy from elsewhere than this.

kali110 · 24/09/2017 15:00

Have ypu said that you never even spoke to the driver?
Id be stating how unimpressed i was that they think its acceptable to lie.

bluit · 24/09/2017 15:00

There's something missing.

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 15:01

No Backie, I wasn't aggressive, didn't speak to the driver at all as stated earlier. I spoke to customer services, then escalated to their manager, then tried the delivery complaints service number, then they transferred me to someone else. I got a little teary tbh but never agressive. I'm just so frustrated and can't believe they can do this.

OP posts:
Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 15:01

The driver was saying I refused delivery in an agressive manner, that's why he won't come back.

OP posts:
kali110 · 24/09/2017 15:02

I got a little teary tbh but never agressive
Who too?
Not the driver?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/09/2017 15:02

FFS, how on earth can the driver be claiming that you "refused the delivery" when you weren't even fcking there?! Did he speak to a neighbour to take in SOFAS?? I mean, what the fuck planet is he on?

INterested to know whether the delivery is by Argos' own drivers, or whether they employ some other brand of highwaymen such as HDN...

MuddlingThroughLife · 24/09/2017 15:02

I'd cut off my nose to spite my face and demand my money back in full if not with me by next day or whenever suits you for delivery. 🎗

RhiannonOHara · 24/09/2017 15:04

Head office. Phone them if there's a number, otherwise email and tweet a copy of what you email.

WindyWednesday · 24/09/2017 15:04

If you didn't speak to the driver how can you have been aggressive towards him.

NotMyMonkees · 24/09/2017 15:04

So you aggressively refused a delivery by not being in?? What a sensitive flower that driver is. And unless he's doing his deliveries in a tram I'm not convinced his set route can't be rerouted! How infuriating for you.

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 15:06

Kali - The last person I spoke to, I'm not sure what department it was. It's telling the story over and over and getting no help (never mind sympathy from them!) then to hear that the driver had lied tipped me over the edge.

OP posts:
BackieJerkhart · 24/09/2017 15:07

Then how on earth can they just take his word for it that you were aggressive? Did you leave a voicemail on his phone?

Jammydodger81 · 24/09/2017 15:08

Thanks NotmyMonkees

BackieJerkhart · 24/09/2017 15:09

Definitely cancel the order. A few weeks on a beanbag is far better than knowing you've paid over your hard earned money to that shower of shite. And complain directly to CEO with names of everyone you have spoken to and the delivery driver's if you have it. In fact, request his name as he has blatantly lied.
