I can read this has really upset remoaners. Seems like a pretty sensible thing to do while we sort out all the changes we will need to make. Whats the fuss really?

*Anyone who fails to understand that the EU is at heart, and always has been, a project to build an anti-democratic, federal Europe run by unelected technocrats for the benefit of the elite and transnational corporations, regardless of the wishes of the citizens of the affected countries, isn't entitled to voice an opinion on the matter

So if you disagree with me you should be silent. Fairly ironic given I think you are trying to argue that the EU is undemocratic.

I'd have more respect for that opinion if it wasn't one of the myths pedalled by Matthew Ellery.

A citizens guide to the EU is most enlightening. It's written by a Brit.

That would be so much easier if remainers stopped moaning about Brexit.

Can you come up with one single good reason why people should stop complaining about/objecting to/debating something that they so fundamentally disagree with? If the referendum has highlighted one thing, it's the leavers' desire to gag dissent. Shameful really.

You do realise that you are moaning about people moaning? And given that actually the 'moaning' is disagreeing with your point of view and apparently people voted leave because they wanted democracy. Except when people disagree with them.

"The Institute of Fiscal Studies has made it clear that instead of having £350M/week MORE to spend on the NHS and other public services, there will in fact be £300M/week LESS available after Brexit, due to loss of growth and tax revenues. Not just for a couple of years either - for good.
This is also the current government's official position as they've acknowledge it in their budget.
In just one year we've gone from the fastest growing economy in the EU to the slowest. And Brexit hasn't even happened yet"

maybe because they have something to moan about??

You might have a point but if you do don't be all precious when people call it out for what it is remainers moaning about Brexit. Works both ways.

Ah...but that will be our £300 M to spend as we want to - even though it's less money than we would have had in the first place!Grin

Lots was made of the 'extra' money we would have if we didn't give the EU money every week. An easy argument to make.

The Remain side failed to make the harder argument that we'd probably have more money coming in to our coffers because of belonging to the EU, so we could afford the fees.

I fear the NHS won't end up seeing as much money as it would have done if we stayed purely because our economy won't do as well. Even if we aren't paying membership fees.

What's the difference between raising valid concerns over Brexits and moaning?

People can moan about the weather. I think that's different to raising valid concerns over Brexit. We have more control over Brexit than we do over weather.

I don't mind people moaning and groaning about it. It was to be expected. People are allowed to voice disagreement. What kinda grates my cheddar is people thinking they can somehow reverse the decision because it wasn't what they fancied. We saw ample evidence of this when the remainers demanded another referendum.

You can't do it like that.

LOL at 'valid concern'. Remember, folks, only start a thread on MN if you have a 'valid concern'.
Post what you want, OP. I'm also interested to know how leave voters feel about latest developments.

Indeed. Looks like we won't really be leaving 2 years after Article 50 was triggered.

I do wonder what Leaving the EU will look like.

And

Only raise valid concerns (who will be the arbiter of this?)

Anything else?

People can certainly 'raise enough concerns' to make other people ask themselves if they are still happy about the decision that was made.

Unless you are one of those people who don't think people should raise 'valid concerns' after a decision is made and you think that nothing can change it - even if it looks like our economy will crash, we must still go ahead.

Oh - and if it looks like we are throwing our country over a cliff, then personally I will stand up and 'raise valid concerns' without being told I am moaning and should just accept it.

I will raise as many valid concerns and so will other people - even if people who are so keen on Brexit sit there with their fingers in their ears saying 'I can't hear you, I'm not listening'.

I often wonder how bad the future would have to be to convince some people that leaving the EU is a bad idea.

No one wants to see it fail.

Some people think we shouldn't leave in the first place. I think that's ok to talk about.

I wonder this all the time. However, I think there are some people who either don't care how bad it gets, as long as they "get their country back" (whatever that means), or who will refuse to ever accept they made a mistake. And unfortunately some of these people are in government.
