To drink?!

Okay bear with me.
I literally NEVER drink, as me and OH are TTC. Today he has gone to a local pub/restaurant to meet some acquaintances to talk business. I have decided to chill on the sofa whilst my son is glued to some new dvds upstairs.
I am watching Pretty Little Liars and enjoying a very nice bottle or two of wine as spritzers. I updated my status to say 'wine, PLL, and vape, happy Sunday!'
Within minutes I'd received a phone call off my mother to say that I should not be drinking unsupervised whilst in charge of my son. My son is 6, he's has lunch and I am not planning to get smashed. For crying out loud I'm almost 27, am I really not allowed to enjoy a drink on a Sunday afternoon?! For reference, the last time I drank was last year Sad.
So, AIBU?!

That escalated quickly Confused

OP - hope you enjoyed your wine Wine

Voice0fReason · 17/09/2017 22:33

Ignore your mother and when you post things like that on Facebook, exclude her from seeing it.
Then sit down and enjoy your wine.

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 22:35

Incorrect. There's a lot of things I don't like that I'm perfectly happy for others to have or to engage in.

We are all eternally grateful that we have your blessing to occasionally partake in activities you don't approve of

Nope. Like I said, your attitude is the reason I'm not disclosing anything to you.

Nope, the reason you won't "disclose" anything is because you have nothing of substance to offer - therefore no one need pay the slightest bit of attention to anything you say. You've been asked very politely (anyone can check back, this thread isn't huge) to verify that.

How interesting that you can see in other people's minds to find out the reasons for the things they think. You should see someone about that, I'm sure you could make a lot of money off it Grin

Oh and if nobody need pay any attention to anything I say, why are you still replying to me?

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 22:40

In the obviously in vein hopes that you'll at SOME POINT actually ANSWER THE QUESTION that you KEEP dodging. Are you trolling at this point?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/09/2017 22:49

FallingOrbit Nope, I'm not trolling. I'm just not disclosing anything due to your attitude.

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 22:52

So you won't be answering the question that's been repeatedly asked by my self and at least two others, then? Just so anyone who views the conversation can be crystal clear?

MarcelineTheVampire · 17/09/2017 22:54

Can I know your reasons @WhatToDoAboutThis2017 ?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/09/2017 22:56

FallingOrbit I'm not sure there are many more ways to say "no" Grin

If you haven't got that I'm not answering your question due to your attitude by now, I'm not sure you ever will.

Let's hope anyone following this conversation has a little more nous.

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 22:56

No! You have a terrible attitude! Grin

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 22:57

Make that 3! Come on! betting no answer will be forthcoming

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/09/2017 22:59

MarcelineTheVampire I'll PM you tomorrow Smile

SlackerMum1 · 17/09/2017 23:04

Wow I really want to know the reasons now.... it's like a season finale cliff hanger! Whattodo may I very respectfully request for you to elaborate?

Also OP so not unreasonable.... my mum used to say 'oh but what if there was an issues and you had to go to the hospital etc....' to which my response was always that as a non-car owning London dweller I'd either get the bus, call an ambulance or an über (situation depending) regardless of my blood alcohol....

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/09/2017 23:05

SlackerMum1 Ha ha I can also PM you tomorrow if you're really that interested Grin

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 23:11

Slacker - it's trolling, please don't feed it, and definitely don't kiss it's arse. If it genuinely had a reason it would have presented it by now :)

Yes, I've totally mastered trolling. I spend nearly a year posting on Mumsnet, waiting for one specific post to come up so I can "troll" Confused

Or perhaps it could just be that I don't want to disclose personal information to those with hostile attitudes.

FallingOrbit · 17/09/2017 23:23

Or perhaps it could just be that I don't want to disclose personal information to those with hostile attitudes.

NO ONE has taken a hostile attitude towards you. YOU made a very strong statement (for the avoidance of doubt - that was making alcohol illegal) and when people have asked you as to WHY you have REFUSED to say.

"Personal information" my arse - this is an ANONYMOUS FORUM, no one knows who you are, where you live, or anything else about you unless YOU have told them - and even then you can change your name.

YOU ARE FOOLING NO ONE.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/09/2017 23:28

NO ONE has taken a hostile attitude towards you.

You are being hostile right now.

There's really no need to shout at someone because they hold a different opinion to you. I wish it was illegal, you clearly don't. I have my reasons, you have yours.

Since it will never be made illegal, there's no reason to become so angry over it.

FuckMyUterus · 17/09/2017 23:51

Wow... That escalated quickly Hmm
