SueHalpern‏
@suehalpernVT
@carolecadwalla @profcarroll Why is Nigel Farage campaigning in the US for a Senate candidate? Who's paying?

SueHalpern‏ @suehalpernVT

Replying to @suehalpernVT @carolecadwalla @profcarroll
Parscale's 501(c)4 is for Strange in AL. Assume Mercer's grp is working for Moore, but there's hardly a trace. Is it involved w/Farage?

We are

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

"We are" what, Andy?

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

He's in the US doing a number of speeches for the Republican Party

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

We have a US consultancy campaign firm

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla
Do you?? Who's "we"? What's it called? So this is a commercial proposition for Farage?

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

Part of Goddard Gunster - splitting California for starters and a dozen referendums

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

But...you have an ownership stake in GG??

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

Nope - a new entity working alongside them...based in a suitable tax haven obviously 🙄

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

Obviously. So..a Belize-based election consultancy in which you, Farage & Banks are directors & for whom Farage is now working in US races?

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

Nope - not belize 🇧🇿

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

But the rest of it is an accurate summation?
So...which Mercer funding vehicle is coughing up the cash for this one??

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore
Nothing to do with any US money or funders - all our own investment - consultancy for US companies interested in Brexit etc and campaigning

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

Andy, can you explain. You've just said you're a consultancy working in US elections, so there must be a client, no?

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

Yes many in US/India/Europe and Commonwealth nations

Carole Cadwalladr‏ @carolecadwalla

What is the name of the new consultancy?
Can you explain more about how this works in terms of Farage's upcoming speech in Alabama?

Andy Wigmore‏ @andywigmore

Speeches across the conservative movement in Europe/ US - he is travelling the world giving his view, he's on Fox as a commentator as well

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 11:47

Interesting.

PerkingFaintly · 26/09/2017 12:32

So... British politician Nigel Farage is campaigning in the US for a US candidate.

And travelling the world giving speeches in Europe and the US.

Paid for by a consultancy based in a tax haven.

Which works for US clients interested in Brexit.

And is paid by clients in the US, Europe, India, and other Commonwealth nations.

Sounds almost like... globalism to me?

Luther Strange has been shooting up in the Alabama polls since my endorsement. Finish the job - vote today for "Big Luther."

Kyle Griffin @kylegriffin1
This is not true. New polling obtained by the WSJ shows Moore has opened up a 16-point lead over Strange.

In previous years, I might have been interested to see what a president made of the results of a bad call. Nowadays, I become edgy about disappointment leading not to licking of wounds but to the destruction of life on Earth. Dear Goodness that it should come to this.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 26/09/2017 12:53

Haha perking don't let them catch on or they might implode from irony overload

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 26/09/2017 13:06

None of it is normal cozie Sad

There's not too much being made about farage/bannon/gorka indirectly opposing trump on this pick (that I can see) but it seems like it should be a bigger deal than it is currently

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 13:14

Bannon and Gorka are 'smarting'. They want/need to .........prove themselves.

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 13:16

They need to keep the $$$$ flowing as well and that will depend greatly on their perceived relevance, I suspect.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 26/09/2017 13:39

Interesting that Trump doesn't seem to be reacting to it

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 13:46

We don't know what Bannon has/they've told him their game plan is. (And they'll have one.)

Trump and the NFL

Mirador · 26/09/2017 16:08

It's funny (peculiar not haha), when I was watching Trump give his UN speech, I had to just listen after a few minutes as watching him and his body language was making me irate, but I thought to myself a few times, that actually sounds like Gorka talking, like those were the words he would say.

Then when the report came out that Gorka had said it was all Bannon's influence/speech writing, I still thought, nope sounds like Gorka still to me. I still do.

I think it might be as simple as, deflection plus anything to keep Trumps name first and foremost in the news to keep his base connected to him, and keep the Republicans and Democrats spinning at what might be next. The attacks even from his so called besties is all about Trumps base flocking to his defence and becoming ever more loyal.

On a selfish note, I really hope the UK Gov pull back from this President being a best friend. He surely isn't one.

And on a last note now I've rambled, I was watching some Morning Joe and I've never seen Joe so furious as this short segment re: the way John McCain is being treated - Joe: Who Raised The People That Boo John McCain?

New: Kushner's lawyer indicated to email prankster @SINON_REBORN that he hasn't seen all of Kushner's private emails

Jared Kushner's lawyer, fooled by 'email prankster,' offers window into private email controversy

Renato Mariotti‏Verified account
@renato_mariotti
THREAD: What do the emails between Kushner's lawyer and an email prankster tell us?
1/ The @businessinsider story linked above by @NatashaBertrand discusses email exchanges between Kushner lawyer Abbe Lowell and a prankster.
2/ Lowell has a reputation as a great attorney, but obviously corresponding with the prankster is a serious error by him. He has a duty to
3/ protect his client's confidential information. (Obviously the prankster should not be trying to fool lawyers into making errors, either.)
4/ In his email with the prankster, Lowell revealed something important by saying he needed to see all private emails between Kushner and
5/ The White House. That is surprising because Lowell previously released a public statement indicating that there were less than 100 emails
6/ between Kushner's private email and the White House and that they've all been forwarded and preserved. Lowell's comments to the prankster
7/ indicate that he made that statement without actually possessing or reviewing the emails themselves, which would suggest that his
8/ statement was based on his client's representations as opposed to something he verified himself. Issuing an important statement or making
9/ any key decision based solely on your client's say-so is dangerous. Clients aren't always forthcoming with their attorneys, and like
10/ anyone else, they have imperfect memories. Issuing a statement that turns out to be inaccurate can have negative consequences, so I'm
11/ surprised Lowell was not more careful. This is the first major misstep by the Kushner team, which has thus far appeared to be the most
12/ able and disciplined team involved in the Mueller investigation. /end

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 16:16

Goodness. He was furious.

cozietoesie · 26/09/2017 16:19

What is interesting to note is that Joe Scarborough is an ex Congressman. Many of 45's base won't be watching his show. But others will.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 26/09/2017 16:23

Ex republican congressman!
