To help me make sense of what I saw...

Just drive through a quieter part of a busy town.
Approaching a set of traffic lights so was slowing down in a 40 zone. .
To my left I noticed a woman on a mobility scooter. . Bright floral skirt and dark pink handbag. Hair in a bit of an up- do style. Sunglasses on..
I had mine on too.
Prescription ones or can't see to drive.
Took a second glance as I got to the lights.
(My inner mind- on reflection- was maybe puzzled. .)
The occupier of the scooter was also spouting a full beard.
My brain went into full on confusion mode.
What would you have thought?

NoCapes · 13/09/2017 15:44

Confused I don't understand what you need help with tbh

TenForward82 · 13/09/2017 15:45

Wut.

Phosphorus · 13/09/2017 15:45

Either the woman had a beard, or the man was wearing a skirt.

What on earth are you so confused about?

ILoveMillhousesDad · 13/09/2017 15:45

Erm a man dressed in womens clothing, or a woman with a hormonal issue.

Then I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

HTH

LoveDeathPrizes · 13/09/2017 15:45

I think you saw someone and assumed their gender by their clothing.

Fucky · 13/09/2017 15:49

it was a man in a skirt? How's that confusing 🤔

AlternativeTentacle · 13/09/2017 15:51

Man in dress shocker. Floral at that.

lottieandmia · 13/09/2017 15:52

Phosphorus 😂

dollydaydream114 · 13/09/2017 15:53

I don't understand what there is to 'make sense of'.

Some women have heavy facial hair. Some men wear skirts. So what? Why do you need to know what sex someone is as they pass you in the street?

DesignedForLife · 13/09/2017 15:53

Either man in skirt or woman with a beard. Not that confusing surely?

LaurieFairyCake · 13/09/2017 15:54

I think there's very few men who go out in skirts so I'd have had a double take as it's unusual

lindblum · 13/09/2017 15:55

Harnaam Kaur is a woman with a full beard who rocks it, look her up. It's unusual but not something to be baffled about.

Ikabod · 13/09/2017 15:55

Or she could have some sort of excess hair thing. I don't know the name of it but it can cause women to have full, lustrous beards.

DelapidatedScrotum · 13/09/2017 15:56

It was Santa. I'm not supposed to tell you this but he's out and about on covert-ops from the 1st of September every year, he can't afford to blow his cover.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/09/2017 15:59

Wow I'd never heard of Haarnam Kaur, that's an amazing beard !

Good for her, what a nightmare to live with Pcos

Ikabod · 13/09/2017 15:59

hirsutism

MadMags · 13/09/2017 16:00

What's confusing you?

Emmageddon · 13/09/2017 16:00

Your brain went into full on confusion mode?

You must lead a very sheltered life.

PantPlot · 13/09/2017 16:00

Love how you set the scene though

BusterGonad · 13/09/2017 16:01

I'm not sure why you had to go into so much detail about your sunglasses! Confused

OuiNonOui · 13/09/2017 16:01

I understand your confusion. That's not something you see everyday.

StarfishSeahorse · 13/09/2017 16:02

You saw a person on a mobility scooter.
HTH.

moggle · 13/09/2017 16:02

I get that sometimes our brains take a while to process what we are seeing but why on earth would you finish your car journey and then think, Oh I'll go post on mumsnet about it. As other posters have said, it's hardly earthshattering news even if it's not something most people are likely to see every day or even every month (combination of bright coloured female clothing, beard, mobility scooter even if two out of those three is quite common...)

picklemepopcorn · 13/09/2017 16:03

Blanket over his lap rather than a skirt, and a pink bag of shopping?

Bekabeech · 13/09/2017 16:09

Somewhere near me had a famous bearded lady. Unfortunately last I heard she isn't very well so lives in a residential home now.
