I'm absolutely shocked.

That includes food, nappies and wipes.

We paid £90 so I'd say it was quite reasonable.

Pizzalove · 04/09/2017 17:54

Sounds ridiculous

twoheaped · 04/09/2017 17:54

Ten years ago it was £54, so sounds about right.

howthelightgetsin · 04/09/2017 17:54

Yeah we pay about that and it's one of the cheaper ones in the area, doesn't include nappies.

GrockleBocs · 04/09/2017 17:56

What is that? £6 an hour? Not that bad including food etc.

feral · 04/09/2017 17:56

Depends where you are in the country really.

DS has just finished nursery for school and rate was £49 a day at that point including same as yours.

We are Worcestershire.

mummy92 · 04/09/2017 17:56

Depends were about you live by me it's about £40 a day

CrazyLittleCow · 04/09/2017 17:57

Really depends where you live. That's on the cheaper side of average for London. We pay £53 p/day for ours (London) which is mega cheap.

insancerre · 04/09/2017 17:58

Well, it's all relative
Some areas are more expensive than others
But quality provision costs

FilledSoda · 04/09/2017 17:58

Doesn't sound too bad at all

Moanyoldcow · 04/09/2017 17:58

The day nurseries near me are all about £70 a day. It's crippling.

CrazyLittleCow · 04/09/2017 17:58

Oh just seen it includes nappies and wipes. That's very reasonable then!

Tobebythesea · 04/09/2017 17:58

We pay £75 per day so £62.50 is quite reasonable, especially if it includes nappies, wipes and food.

Can you consider a childminder?

Pizzalove · 04/09/2017 17:58

Even outstanding nurseries ae significantly cheaper here. I also live in the south.

MusicalChairsOh · 04/09/2017 17:59

I pay £44 a day in the south west.

CrazyLittleCow · 04/09/2017 17:59

I don't necessarily agree with that insancerre. I moved my son from the 89 p/day nursery I was sending him to to the 53 p/day one he now attends. I'm much happier with the cheaper one.

Lules · 04/09/2017 17:59

I paid £96 a day in London, although there were cheaper.

MsMommie · 04/09/2017 18:00

I think that's about average OP.

SweepTheHalls · 04/09/2017 18:00

I pay 56 in the Midlands

HighwayDragon1 · 04/09/2017 18:00

Yeah that works out about £5per hour, including nappies and food and it's a "bargain"

insancerre · 04/09/2017 18:01

I didn't mean that more expensive nurseries are better but it is hard to say if the rate is expensive without knowing what other nurseries in the area costs

Pizzalove · 04/09/2017 18:01

I keep wondering why people can't afford to work. I have 3 in childcare and I think it's really cheap.

qumquat · 04/09/2017 18:01

It depends where you live. If in London then I'd say it's quite normal.

CaveMum · 04/09/2017 18:03

I'm going to be paying the same for DS when he starts nursery in January (he'll be 9 months old), and we have to supply our own nappies and formula.

It gets slightly cheaper when they move up to the toddler room (about £55 per full-day) and again when they go to the pre-school room (about £49 per full-day).

user1490607838 · 04/09/2017 18:03

Pretty outrageous, but yeah, as others have said, it sounds about right. It was £30 a day in the late 1990's.

No wonder some women choose to stay at home.

Several people I know work in places that give free creche facilities. Every employer should follow suit, because these prices are ridiculous.
