MSNBC reports Trump IS donating that 1 million, and gave a list of who to. Donald and Melanie, it seems.

I wonder if he actually will from his personal fortune, or it will be in installments from his salary, or maybe from Melania's personal bank account. Grin

One of those charities is the Samaritans purse, which is hotly contested on MN during the Christmas season!

Alex Kotch @alexkotch
Samaritan's Purse is the organization run by Franklin Graham, who proclaimed that god put Trump in the White House.

cozietoesie · 06/09/2017 21:09

That's good, Lweji. I trust they'll eyeball the cheques, tactless though it might seem. Smile

cozietoesie · 06/09/2017 21:14

I seem to recall that the White House Press Corps were asked for suggestions for donating the POTUS salary which suggestions were roundly ignored. (1st Quarter salary went to the Parks Service, 2nd to the Education Department. Both of which have had their funding cut, I think?)

I notice that Trump's passing reference (from North Dakota) to the conversation he had with Ivanka is not going down well on twitter. It's the 'daddy' part that does it ...

90% of the buildings in Barbuda have been destroyed... that's unbelievably tragic. I hope that everyone is safe who lie in the path (was somewhat happier to see Irma is likely to skirt Puerto Rico although storm surges are still a major concern) Sad

Must say, Randy really letting rip with the profanity in his new song - despite his sunny disposition, you can tell he is just getting angrier and angrier... and on this issue, he is most certainly not alone!

Lweji · 07/09/2017 00:14

Did you notice this?

McCain backs Graham-Cassidy ObamaCare repeal effort

McCain said he backs a bill from Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.) that would convert ObamaCare spending into block grants for states.

The measure faces long odds, despite the boost from McCain. The White House is pushing for it, but Senate GOP leadership has so far not expressed interest publicly.

Republicans face a tight deadline of Sept. 30, when the fast-track process known as reconciliation needed to pass a repeal bill without Democratic votes expires.

Asked if he thinks the bill has legs before Sept. 30, McCain said, "I do."
