To say Capri sun is not a adult drink?

So my lovely dad was going to the shops earlier and asked if I wanted anything. I said a non alcoholic drink of some kind (had a bit too much alcohol over the weekend). Couldn't think what I meant and he was rushing, but I said not a fresh juice but I had something at there's before that was a raspberry/summer fruits sparking drink, something like that.

Went to get a drink a bit ago and asked him if he'd got anything. He proudly hands me a box of summer fruits Capri suns.

I said why have you got them, they're kids drinks. He's adamant that they're not, lots of adults apparently drink them. They have a straw!!
I'm not unreasonable to say they're kids drinks am I?

He's actually sat drinking one now to prove me wrong 😂

@maisypops Ribena is only nice from a carton! It's not the same from a bottle and even worse if you have to dilute it yourself!

Maybe youve hurt his feelings so hes trying to make a point.
He tried his best based on your desctiption and thought he got you what you wanted.

Im mostly housebound so my dad does my shopping. Sometimes he picks up the wrong flavour/type etc, like when i was really craving chocolate and he was out and bought me a bar. Big smile on his face when he handed it to me, he was really disapointed in himself when i looked a bit puzzled and he realised he accidentally got dark chocolate which i hate. He hates making mistakes like that and feeling he has let me down despite trying to reassure him it doesnt matter.

Frozen Capri suns are great for picnics on hot days, they keep food cool and are nicely defrosted but cold by the time you drink them.

If someone is doing you a favour and you can't be specific about what it is you want then you don't get to moan when they get it wrong.

And of course I can't actually show him these replies in favour of capri suns. I'll have to screen shot and edit the few posters who agree with me and show him that!

Bad enough I'm back living at home, I can't do with him being right!

I love a capri sun. YABU OP.

My dad is currently revovering from a stroke in hospital and he has them. They're easy to hold and don't spill easily. Perfect for him! Smile

Oh and posters thinking I've upset him or I'm being ungrateful. I thought it was quite obviously light hearted.
We have a very jokey relationship, I'll be getting a Capri sun everytime I ask for a drink now.

Has no one yet said that Capri Sun should not be a kids' drink either as it has the same nutritional content as petrol?

Capri Sun is a drink for children in that I was only ever fooled into drinking it when I was a child and the advertisements made it look appealing.

Now I know it has too much sugar in it and plain orange juice is much better.

Yabu. And very ungrateful. I bloody love Caprisun - especially the large ones with the screw cap.

Capri Suns are the drink of the gods!

I frequently take one in my lunch box to work with me. I am in a grown-up professional job.

If straws are for children, how should I drink my bucket of diet coke at the cinema!?

But in every pub you will see Women drinking spirits/bottled cider/beer through a straw. That's besides the popularity of Mason Jars etc.

Capri Suns/Fizzy Drinks etc aren't great for children. Capri Suns come in large pouches and more Adult flavours, now.

Love a Capri Sun on a hangover - big one with nozzle, no straw. I think it's because they are much colder than all the other drinks due to the thin foil.

I'd love if someone brought me a Capri Sun. DP hears 'non alcoholic' and goes into a blind panic and brings me tonic water or something.

It's taken him 20 years to realise when I say "bring me something healthy to eat" from the shop, I actually mean a Mars bar.

Anyway, I digress. A Capri Sun isn't a kids' drink - adults can and do enjoy them!
