Just that. For an undergrad, moving away situation?

Quite old?? What a bizarre thread!

Unless you meant 120 🤔

Ameliablue · 01/09/2017 17:34

No

bigchris · 01/09/2017 17:35

Er no

I work at a uni and there are loads of 20 year olds

pigsDOfly · 01/09/2017 17:35

What?

Papafran · 01/09/2017 17:35

No, it's not. HTH.

Sparklingbrook · 01/09/2017 17:35

No

Aquamarine1029 · 01/09/2017 17:35

FGS, no.

Troupee3 · 01/09/2017 17:36

Lana1234 · 01/09/2017 17:36

No that's when I went to uni Confused took a year out before going and worked to have extra money

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 01/09/2017 17:36

Ds1 will be 20...he had a gap year and is also september born. Never occurred

Scrantonstrangler · 01/09/2017 17:36

Noo i finished my degree at 22 so no???

OuchBollocks · 01/09/2017 17:37

How would it be too old? The vast majority of undergrads turn 19 during their first year. A large minority will have taken gap years and be turning or already turned 20. Those on 4 or 5 year courses will be much older by graduation.

Troupee3 · 01/09/2017 17:37

Okay so turning 21 the year they start

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 01/09/2017 17:42

No. I was 20 when I went to Uni many years ago and so were a number of my contemporaries. I think I enjoyed it more than I would have done at 18.

FlakeBook · 01/09/2017 17:44

No. There will be a huge range of ages. My dh went at 34 (moving away to start his first year).

blueskyinmarch · 01/09/2017 17:44

Of course not. People of all ages start undergrad degrees. Why would you think this too old?

manglethedangle · 01/09/2017 17:45

No. I took a gap year and my birthday is very early September so I was 20 when I started. Friends were between 18 and 23 though there were older people too.

MaidOfStars · 01/09/2017 17:45

Not unusual in the slightest.

Is it you, OP? Do it.

Gilead · 01/09/2017 17:45

I was 28 when I started.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 01/09/2017 17:46

My Dad was 61 when he did his first degree. I think he gave freshers week a miss though Wink

PurpleDaisies · 01/09/2017 17:46

No. Not odd in the slightest. I'm surprised you'd think it is.

MsFortunaMajor · 01/09/2017 17:47

There is such a wide range of ages at university, it really doesn't matter if the student will be 20 when they start. I was 22 and studied part-time so graduated when I was 28. I was definitely not the oldest person there!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 01/09/2017 17:47

Ages vary and 20/21 is not going to raise eyebrows - are you asking for yourself?

Ropsleybunny · 01/09/2017 17:47

I did my degree in my 40s.

sonjadog · 01/09/2017 17:48

No, not old at all. Not even slightly unusual. Many people work, take extra study or travel for a couple of years before starting.
